I wouldn't bet on that... I work for a different branch of the government, and everyone vanishes for the last third of Dec and the first week of Jan. Not everyone at the same time, but that makes it equally bad, because anything that needs to get done needs 5 different people to sign off, and at any given time, 3 out of 5 of them are not there. And of course, the paper needs to be signed in a particular order.
Of course, we might not have it so bad if only one person needs look at it. Then again, there are the holiday parties in addition to vacation time. I suspect paperwork efficiency will suffer more than a few days, sadly.

It's pretty easy... you just buy wood veneer samples, cut strips out of it and boil them, then superglue it around a marker or something, then sand it down. I can go into more detail with tips, if you'd like. I made about a dozen trying to get the process down.

Yeah, nothing can really replace sentimental value. Even though that first one was worthless, I'm still mad about losing it.

My husband and I sometimes will read the same book and get into discussions about it. This carries the risk of him going off into philisophical monologues, sadly.
