Got emails/texts that my interview was scheduled. The notice has not yet been uploaded. I'll keep everyone posted when I get to view the letter. Like I mentioned before, I will be out of the country all of April, so I had a bad feeling that my interview has been scheduled exactly when I am gone!
Since you have no timeline, what was your priority date in August exactly?

What is e request?
Request to inquire online about your case being outside their posted processing times:
https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?sroPageType=onpt
Don't waste your time filling this out unless your priority date is past what they officially post for processing on their webpage, if you submit form it will say it can't be requested.

Any updates Christian?
San Fernando and LA offices are pretty much the same. I'm over 7 months now since official filing date and will post when I get an offical NOA2 and interview date (hopefully within the next 30 days).

The local office does not have anything to do with it at this point. The background checks need to cleared before the office even receives your file and can start the scheduling process. Most people's background checks clear within a few days or weeks, at which point they are being put "in line", which means that the local office then receives their file and can start the scheduling process. Cybermax and I are not worried about our local office's processing times (and FYI, OKC's processing time is not 10 months - it was April 18, 2016 as of December 31, 2016, so roughly 8.5 months), but about being stuck at the background check stage for a prolonged period of time, which SHOULD only take a few days.
Anyway, I am not here to argue with you, so you can just agree to disagree.
My point is the whole process will take about 8-10 months before your interview is scheduled. The December 31 thing is wrong according to USCIS person I spoke to and not sure why don't remove it, it's based on the date in lower right corner.

Just got text and checking the status, finally in line for interview. I guess FBI name check finally cleared.
11 1/2 months?

Yes you are right. Imagine the wait of the new filers. Probably will be more than 8.5 months, I hope not.
Anyway, all we can do is wait and hoping we get an update soon as possible.
Well if it makes you feel any better, I spoke with someone else here from the Phoenix lockbox/LA area office who filed July 21st and was sent his approval letter/date about 7 months and one week later:

OMG! I thought its gonna be quick.
When my husband filed his, it only take less than 5 months. He filed April and everything was done by mid August.
His receipt say NBC though...I don't if this IOE is the reason why it taking so long.
When I filed in August, the processing time was 5 months, since then it has changed to 8.5 months, I posted this another thread, but when I called L2 he said they were flooded with N400s before and especially after election, so they are completely swamped and processing times are doubling in some cases, just be thankful you are in the stage of the game and not filing now!

Yes, the e-request does work with my case too.
It does work? When did you file the e-request? Your PD date is September 23.

I called last tuesday and they say I have to wait, nothing they can do. I filed Aug 19. Sept 12 was my biometrics.
Today I tried to create an E-request but they won't let me, saying my case is still under normal processing time.
For the LA office, you can file an e-request on June 3 according to their website, which shows file being processed as of March 8 on June 23 of last year. It says on the top of the processing page "Field Office Processing Dates for Los Angeles CA as of: January 31, 2017", but the L2 rep I talked to said the date they are processing as of the date on the bottom right corner of the page (right now March 8) is how to base the processing time on, I hope he is wrong on that and it's actually the January 31. However, when I have tried to file an e-request based on that January 31 timeline, it says I still fall within the processing time based on the March 8 date, which would be 8 months and 15 days.

I am aware of that. This thread has nothing to do with the actual interview scheduling. This is about being stuck in background checks, or, in other words not being "put in line" for an interview. This is the step ahead of getting the interview actually scheduled.
According to the USCIS, in Oklahoma City it will take about 10 months for you to get a notice that your application has been approved for an interview on a certain date. Background checks, being "put in line", all of these things are considered part of the processing time they post.

Hello,
After waiting patiently and checking status online almost every week I am finally getting anxious about my N-400 application. I completed the biometrics on 8/23/2016 but my status online was never changed from "Biometric appointment scheduled". Today I tried creating the online e-request from my account but after filling all information it said "You application is currently within posted processing time and an inquiry may not be created".
Its been 216 days since the receipt notice and I dont even know if USCIS has received by fingerprints. They dont allow me to create an inquiry, so what am I supposed to do now?
GC Date: 10/21/2011
N-400 Filed: 8/4/2016
Received by USCIS: 8/5/2016
FIeld Office: Phoenix AZ
Receipt Notice: 8/9/2016
Application Number: IOE#####
Biometrics Notice: 8/12/2016
Biometrics Completed: 8/23/2016
Phoenix, as of today which was just updated on the USCIS website, is approving applications from May 19 in Phoenix. So if you filed August 5 you unfortunately have a ways to go.

Tried #800 this morning, still no luck. They lady was not willing to transfer me to L2 and told me to wait for 90 days no matter what I said. I just made an infopass appointment next Tuesday to LA office and hope I can find out......
What is your priority date?

I have been stuck in background checks for close to two months now.
GC: 11/2/2013
N-400 sent: 12/8/2016 (filed under 3-year-rule - not an early filer)
So you've been waiting 90 days to receive word about your N-400? According to USCIS, Oklahoma City has about a 10 month processing time for an N400.

I filed August as well. I emailed them using the ELIS and they replied saying I'm already in the system for interview just waiting for the field office to schedule.
Hopefully we get all our schedule before the end of this month.
Based on your filing date and the LA office processing times, you should hear from them mid to late April, I'm a month before you and still have not heard anything, will update when I know.

So, just a quick question for anyone that's had the interview and oath. What other documents did you take with you because all it says on the letter is:
The letter
Green Card
Selective Service docs
Passport
Marriage Certificate
Divorce paperwork
Spouse's Birth Certificate
DD214 If you were in the forces.
I've seen people posting all sorts of paperwork that is required.
Thanks
They will tell you exactly what to bring, I have no idea why other people bring so much other paperwork which is not necessary unless requested.

Hi everyone,
I am getting all ready for my interview nxt Wednesday and realized I have one missing info - an entry stamp in my passport for a trip back in summer 2011. It was a trip to Italy and I was out only for 6 days. SO puzzling. Every trip I took overseas had an entry stamp upon return to the US. Has anyone experienced the IO asking for verification for entry stamps in passports? THanks. Now, I'm super worried......I only took 6 trips in the last 5 years totaling 79 days.
They don't care about US entry stamps, they use passenger data when u book an airlines ticket to ascertain when and where you've been, I have Global Entry and never even see an immigration office when returning to stamp anything.

I wrote US Department of Homeland Security
Was I supposed to write anything on the back of the USPS money order?
Please confirm
I once had an issue where the USPS put a stop payment on a check I paid for due to some sort of fraud issue, did you check the status of the check to make sure it cleared? Also check shouldn't have the "US" in front of Homeland Security, also make sure date was correct.

Hey guys, so yesterday I went in for an infopass in Seattle.
It was not much help really. Just generic answers hinting at bureaucracy and their system being glitchy as being the reason why some applications move faster than others. The officer said it's not uncommon to wait for a year. Also that by the looks of it I should be hearing from them in a month or so. Not a lot of useful information. Just thought I'd share my experience with you.
Basically, it's a waiting game, whether you go in person, talk to an L1, L2, etc.
Thanks, the info I was given that the wait is about 8 months on average now, so you should hear something in the coming months hopefully.

Yes I am. My PD is Aug 8th 2016. It will be exactly 7 months on March 8th.
The L2 rep told me on the phone USCIS was flooded for N400 requests in Spring of last year so people could vote in the election, and then another flood right after the election, so unfortunately it's bad timing, this happened to me when the DACA thing happened in 2013, they didn't even look at my K1 visa application for almost a year, but for N400 I would plan on 8 months (240 calendar days) at this point for a lot of us (there seems to be rapid movement for people on east coast and northwest however.)

According to their processing time on the website, it's 8 months and 15 days, and that's what the rep said on phone, hopefully that is just a basic number and it won't take that long (although now I have been waiting almost 7 months so it makes sense.
