  1. Why did it take a year and a month to get the interview??

well, everything went fine, after bio metrics we've been transferred to CSC, for a year we waited with no result(i didn't knew you call for info pass stuff like that at that time), but i called because the college asked for GC Copy, so i called USCIS to speed it up claiming i need to show them my GC , and the lady sent me a letter for the approval of the case being expedited and a week 2 later we received interview appointment for local office...but nothing yet..

i know the game here is to wait, and wait, oh and being patient, but im losing my hair with every day that goes by..

any idea on question 2 by the way ? it's a iceberg my ship wont like to hit. :S

  2. i think im gonna go see a psychiatric , USCIS messed my mental health.

long story short, after a year and a month we got the interview which was AUG 14 2012, and almost a month later, and still no answer, all we got after the easy 10 minutes interview was a letter saying our case is on file review and that we will receive a decision in the mail within 180 days.

A month later and still waiting..

    2) i filed EAD Renewal 2 weeks ago and i got 3 weeks left until it expires plus my driver license, do i need to wait for the new card or any other document i can used to extend any of them ?

    thanks !

  3. what visa are you on right now ?

if your'e on B2 - visitor then file (and quickly) I-539, Application To Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status.

read this to see if your'e eligible , http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Resources/C1en.pdf

    and this

    good luck..and hurry up !!

  4. Yes, that should be the I-797C Notice of Action (written on top of the form). Their wording is kind of tricky, it's the notice that shows your application was received ("accepted" for review) by their office.

got it . perfect, thank you for your help, i'll take the photos tonight at Walgreen's and send it in the morning. hopefully ill have my GC Approved soon so i won't even need the new EAD ..

  5. Well thank you for the information.

I think I can answer the questions pretty well just that my husband might not. He's not so good in remembering stuff like dates & etc :bonk:

I'm pretty excited and nervous at the same time :(

very normal :D we all are...before you go there go through information with him so he won't come to a point where he forgets something basic, you might see as he forgets things but they won't..

  6. I received today thru text & email alert that they just sent my interview schedule.

Then my husband came and handed me a letter from USCIS and it's my I-797C Interview Schedule

and the date on the notice was August 17 but they did not sent me an alert until today.

    Anyways, my questions are:

I don't have my EAD yet but already have an interview appointment, is that ok?

On the things to bring on the interview day, it says bring petitioner's birth certificate

and provide document that he is US Citizen, my husband doesn't have passport, is birth certificate going to be enough?

And what are usual questions that they will ask?

Goodluck to us on our interview day :)

Congrats first of all im happy for you guys ! progress with USCIS is good ..

It's ok not the have the EAD before the interview, a friend of mine had her EAD, and a week later her AOS Interview following a GC..so i dont think there's a reason to worry.

i believe a birth certificate will do, think of any other documents he might have, the more the better.

they asked us, how we met, where we met, questions about bank account, tax returns, family questions like how many family members, names..

    stuff you should know :)

  7. Yes, look before that part on the PDF instructions.

"File at the USCIS Chicago Lockbox facility listed below if your response to Question 16 is:

    [...]

©(9) AND you filed your Form I-485 with the USCIS Chicago Lockbox facility, and your Receipt Number begins with "MSC." You must include a copy of the I-797C, Notice of Action, which shows your Form I-485 was accepted"

Is that your case? If not, nevermind. Question is, where did you file your I-485 originally?

    here

    xmpd02.png

about the copy of the i-797c notice of action which shows my form i485 was accepted, i have the one that says

"The above application/petition has been received by our office and is in process"

and at the top right it says ammount paid for the i485 (1070$)

that one is the one they want ?

i included the letter for the file review i got after the AOS interview last week..just in case

    Thank you for the help...
