Then she can look for work while her AOS is processing. Most green cards seem to be processing under a year, but again, you can renew if need be.
Good luck!!
-
EAD is only a temporary work permit while you wait for her AOS/Greencard. If she does not get her greencard within the year, you can renew the EAD. Did you file the I-485 with the EAD/AP forms?

There is a website, I think it's www.wes.org that specializes in "comparing" US education standards to the rest of the world. I believe you can get a report that basically states "your degree equals this. ..." It's worth a look. Good luck!

I would use the electronic one since the system was supposed to go all electronic, I believe, last year.
-
https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94. Check out this site. All I94 are electronic now. There are no forms anymore. Just print the screen.

You can always think of it this way.... chicken pox gets worse the older you get so the varicella shot will help prevent a childhood disease. Especially since the little germ factories are back in school (I have a 9 yr old and he's been vaccinated since birth). As for the flu shot, my husband's cousin who has been here for several years even told my husband to get the shot his first winter here. Since both our guys came from areas where snow and ice are not as likely in the winter, the flu shot will again prevent a possible crappy sickness. And it may also prevent an RFE.

Since the baby has, I assume, a USC as a parent I think you can file forms for American Birth Abroad. I think that's the name of it. It's a totally different process and the little one will be a USC. You might want to research that end. I'm not 100% certain.
-
You can always have the shots done and have the civil surgeon transcribe it in a i693 and include it or wait to see if you get an RFE. Depending on how fast they process it, you may not need them.

I do not believe there is a different "tax rate" for a gc. It would be for "married filing jointly". As long as you have a valid SSN and a valid gc, the IRS would only care about single or married.

You do not need specific travel dates for Advance Parole. You can fill it in with "emergency use only" and leave the dates blank.

If you look at the guides here on VJ, they are SUPER helpful and give you everything you need. Good luck!!!

If you moved to a new permanent residence you need to update you id card.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Congrats!!!

Oh congrats to you too!
Gosh I hope its closer to 10 - I am due to fly out for my sister's wedding on the 11th October! Cutting it fine!
He was approved July 22 and it arrived July 30. You should get a priority mail tracking number in a couple days, if the are still moving as fast as they were in July. He got his just in time to go home for his sister's wedding too.
-
To get the card, about 10 days or so but they say it can take up to 30. My husband's status did the same thing. Congrats!!!!!!!

All you need to do is print out the record from the website and send it in.

Yes, she can go with you. She will just have to sit in the waiting area while they take your finger prints and picture. My husband's appointment lasted about 15 minutes total from sign in to the time we left.
-
We got my husband's SSN about 2 weeks after we got married and about a month before we applied for AOS. You need as least her passport, I-94, and your marriage certificate along with the proper forms.

If you filed the I-485, USCIS automatically sent your husband's info to Selective Service since he was between the ages of 18 and 25 when you sent it in. There is nothing else he needs to do. It says they will do this on the bottom of the form. They remind you to register when you get your gc, but that is only to make sure he registers if for some reason USCIS didn't send the info. But in your case, they registered him already. If he is under 25, he needs to carry the tear off portion with him.
-
Caryh is right. My husband got the same thing. It's federal law to register and USCIS does it automatically. It doesn't mean he has to go to the military, but it's a good thing for other future reasons like financial aid or citizenship. Don't panic.
-
What Blue Crab said. My husband's timeline mirrors his almost exactly and his online status did the exact same thing. We filed in late December and got his greencard July 30. Good Luck!
-
Apparently USCIS got smart. My husband was automatically registered when we submitted his AOS. I guess there is a clause on the form that if you are the right age, it is submitted for you.

1) You need to wait to file. It can only be in the 90 days preceding the expiration date,
2) What M&G said.
Have fun!

Wait. My husband had his visa in hand and then the next day we got a notice he had to return to the embassy because it would not activate. He returned a week later to get the activated visa. At this point a few extra days waiting won't hurt.
Good luck!!
