  1. Hi there! I would like to give an unsolicited advice...since the K1 is approved, just go on and have the interview, and if it didn't work, he could go to the PI and marry the fiance...I know someone who had an interview at USEM last January 2013, and the guy here in the US is receiving SSDI, she was denied due to the reason that the petitioner is receiving money from the government and he's not capable of supporting the beneficiary...but as what others say, it always a case to case with regards to using a co-sponsor, just try every possible way...and always have plan A and B...goodluck to your friends!

  2. Hi there...I came from Bangkok, and I got my police report last Jan paying a 150 baht...100 for the fee since I'm foreigner there, and 50 for mailing...It's free for Thai Nationals... :)

but it took 3 weeks to get it, I never heard a 1,500 fee for speeding up the process since I know couple of friends who got their clearances with the same fee with mine...

  3. Wow, I am trully sorry to hear that you have been on AP for quite some time. I am sure that you have called, but have they said why?? Seems to me that your interview went as smooth as mine or better. Did you email them? It has not even been a week and I am so sad. I can't imagine how you feel. Did they give you a time frame?

What is a 221g? But you were still approved?? Thank you for your inputs smile.png

    Thank you so much!

Thank you, sorry for your AP as well, I know it has been a long time for yourself. Did they tell you why were you put on AP?

221g is soft denial, and they were askin for some missing docs from us....My hubby, fiancee then used to call the NVC and asked about our case and why we were under AP , though we already submitted the docs needed, and the NVC rep told him that all we need to do is wait for the news from the USEM in Bangkok...and after 3 days...I received my passport....one question...did the Consul keep your passport? if they do keep, might be that they are just doin some name checks....

  4. Hi there! based on my experience with Immigration Lawyer...I would advise you to wait patiently...and did you sent back the RFE that they were askin?...we also filed K1 last July 16, 2012....and my POE was March 3, 2013...goodluck and am wishin you all the best!

  5. Hi there! I'll try to answer your questions based on my understanding and experiences when I did the same....

1.) The medical exam result(sealed envelope) will be submitted to the embassy upon interview, and the hospital/clinic will give this to the "beneficiary" after the exam or in some cases, it may take few days before the beneficiary can pick-up the result personally, though I'm not sure about the procedures in your country...

2.) I just secured 2 copies of each form before I went to my interview, but submitted only one copy each ...

3.) You can make follow-up to the embassy about the packet 3, all the information abt police clearance, medical, and forms are included in that packet...and they will just give you a website, and you can also check the copy of packet 3 online at the USEM website, you need to know your case number to check your status online. Make sure to make copies of financial docs needed, and at least 2 yrs tax returns/W2(2011 and 2012)...some may even ask for 3 yrs, but it always depends on the Consul...

4.) Just make a copy of your NOA2 and submit, but make sure you keep a copy of that because you'll be needing that for the AOS.

    5. The intent to marry should be sent upon filing the 129F...but you can make another copy with more details to be submitted upon interview, but this is not necessarily required...

I'm wishing you all the best in your journey! fighting! Goodluck....

  6. hi there...I know what you're trying to point out here, I also felt the same when I was refused at first...But to tell you honestly, I love the people here, the VJers...they are here to guide and support each other...some will give weird or unacceptable advice, and some are brilliant insights, but who are we to judge, it's the beauty of individuality, we are answering queries based on our knowledge and experiences and its up to you to weigh things over...

I hope that you are here to get info and be guided, not to criticize one's point of view...they are just trying to answer your questions and give you the things that might happen...it's up to you to follow or ignore...Enjoy your journey and I wish you all the best...

that is why i want to get married later on, not just yet...for it not to seem weird.

no sympathy? really? what have i done to you...the law itself is ridiculous and denies all kinds of things to those that are honest and good. do u have sympathy for the consuls at the embassy denying people visas? people that have evidence of being attached to their country with an honest intention of visiting America while those that bring no proof get 10 year visas? like i said, the law itself is crazy and some people out there are too.
