So I am flying out of DFW on the 22nd to Zamboanga City. I know there is a enter the country tax, will I be able to do a currency exchange while at the airport before or after I pay the tax?

I will be landing in Zamboanga City on 24 Dec. I hope it is going to be an awesome experience and hopefully New Years will be as well.

So far I have bought shirts for her family at her request, I also bought regular playing cards. I will be getting her a hair straightener, Tolberone and a digital camera. One thing I have found out is that I may need to take baby wipes as well. You never know when it will hit you.

I hope you will be safe all throughout your stay there. Please don't go anywhere alone. There have been instances of foreigners being kidnapped by rebel groups in Zamboanga, Basilan,and Jolo. I live in northeastern Mindanao which is generally safe and peaceful but I would caution you to avoid going to the southern part...but since you've already made travel plans, I just hope you'll be safe and that your special friend and her family would help keep you safe.

I attended the interview and when we both walked up to the interview with the US consular, he told me thanks for my long trip to the Philippines and please have a seat. They interviewed my fiancee for 5 minutes. 10 minutes later, they called me up to the window and interviewed me fir 5 minutes. Never know what they will do. Good luck

I land in Zamboanga City at 635pm on 24 December 2012 where she will be waiting. I will leave 2 Jan 2013 at 700pm where she will be watching me leave. I am spending all that time with her and her family during the holidays. Why would you think I am not flying there?

She is from Zamboanga City and has never been to Manila before, I plan to be with her in Manila during the exam and interview process, if not showing how strong our relationship is, showing her that I am always going to be at her side regardless. But that is me.

But no cam-girl references yet?

I have been saving all our interaction (Skype, Facebook, Yahoo) and WU receipts. I am going in December to visit her and her family for the first time and it will be during Christmas and New Years. Now I have plans to try to be at her medical and interview as well. I am 44 and she is 21. I know the age will be the hardest to overcome, but I think being at her side during all this and in Manila where she has never been (she has never left Zamboanga City), shows my dedication to her, and her to me.

I am looking at all the information needed and double checked and obstacles that can hinder the process. My question is, which way did you go? I can prep all the paperwork needed, but I know I will need another set of eyes to triple check.

I finally booked my flight, and the worst part is the 12 hour layover in Manila before I can get to Zamboanga City. Those will be the longest 12 hours. So close but the longest wait out the entire trip.

Can my fiancee being pregnant hinder, help or neither when it comes to the process? We both have a child of our own and we were considering one together. I know the age difference (she 21 and I am 44) is an obstacle, but can this make it harder for us? I appreciate any input, thanks in advance.
