  1. Right I am getting ready to go to the Infopass in Los Angeles, Luckily I can get there within an hour!

Still no sign of my EAD, I am beyond frustrated now and really hope they can get it sorted for me today by ordering an Interim one or speeding up my one. Haven't even had a touch since my Bio on 15th May! $180 for this crappy service...geesh

Anyway fingers crossed I get someone nice and everyone well done on your approvals, hopefully I'm not to far behind!!!

hope you get some good new at the appointment...we finally got Gavin's EAD approval last week...92 days from filing  our case has had no touches sine early June!

    anyway good luck!

  2. jg_am .... I sent you a pm .. when I went for my medical they told me that they would send me a copy of it if I needed it once I got to the states for $50 .. to just give them a call. It's good for a year and it will save you a couple of hundred bucks .. hope this helps :)

I called the place where Gavin had his medical in Dublin-the doctor sent a letter stating that his vaccination history was complete & that he tested negative for HIV & syphyllis. I sent that letter in with the I-693 that the doctor here filled out

maybe you could try contacting the doctor who performed the medical? It can't hurt!

At the end of my medical in Canada, the doctor handed me a copy of the vaccination worksheet that he filled out. I didn't ask for it, and once I got into the AOS process I thanked my lucky stars that he had voluntarily given it to me, it saved me a lot of aggravation. So my humble advice to people is to ask during the original medical for a copy of the worksheet, it can't hurt. If anything, it would save some money down the road.

my man aksked for it & they wouldn't give him a copy....he was pretty mad b/c the thing cost 300 euro! When I called the doctor & asked for the copy he still wouldn't give one-that is why we asked for a letter from him.

I would suggest to anyone going thru it now-definetky ask for a copy, it could save a lot of aggrivation later on.

Again have a bevvy on me

the e-mail came in at 8:45 pm!!!! I will definetly have more than one bevvy for ya!

thanks guys for all the support! Now I want his greencard :ranting: (that was just a mini-rant-I have to do it b/c my other rants were successful).

  6. Yeah, most of my friends that applied for AOS with EAD said that they wasted their money because they got the greencard before the EAD card

That's why I applied for EAD first (don't have the that time )

where is our EAD??????? I swear they lost our file :ranting::ranting::ranting:

I applied before some of you & we haven't heard anything. I am BEYOND annoyed now

I know how you feel! Everyone was getting approved left and right for their EAD's and ours wasn't even been touched. We got our approval on 6/26 - took 95 days. We received the card in the mail on 7/5. Yours is coming soon I'm sure.

I made an infopass appt for 7/19...which is day 91, I will be walking out of the Philly office with that interim EAD for my husband-end of story!!!!

I just can't believe how some are approved so quickly-and some of us just sit & wait around  I am SO OVER immigration-I have had enough

Totally know how you feel, I am going into the LA office on 17th, they say my recieve date was 20th April but on my form it says recieved 15th April so hopefully they will still look into it. I was meant to start a job on the 23rd, looks like I will have to get onto them and see if they can wait a little longer

It says they go on first come first serve basis, obviously this is untrue as May filers from California have been approved and Im still waiting :crying:

"applications are processed in the order they are received" blah blah blah, what a bunch of bull-######!

I am really looking forward to our infopass appointment next week-I can't wait to see what they say.

  8. P.S. Did you call the regular old "information" line? 1-800-375-5283 Were you able to speak to someone, or did they ask for your husband? I'm tempted to call them right now, but I'm afraid they'd ask for him and I'm at work. Boo.

the guy was great but he wouldn't put an inquiry in b/c my hubby wasn't with me. I am calling back tonight with him there so that they can see what the he*ll is going on. according to the guy...anything after 75 days is considered late!

I would call & see what happens....I hang up on the women b/c I swear they are always so rude :jest: the men are really nice to me!

Everything I've ever seen has said 90 days for EAD, plus the processing times are currently running for the end of March. Did I miss something with the EAD timeline getting shortened?

the guy on the phone said that anything after 75 days could be looked into. I took that with a grain of salt b/c I figured he didn't know what he was talking about(like a lot of the people there). I made an info pass appt for day 91-that way they have to give him the interim EAD.

I am going to call back later with my hubby & see about the 75 day thing-just to see what happens

  9. Called them and went the route like I was changing my address. I got a very nice guy...he looked it up and said that they did get our updated address, but no service request was placed (??) meaning he couldn't tell if it has been sent or not.

I asked him what he thought a reasonable timeframe would be to expect the reissued (or resent) EAD and he said "the 14th" and I thought...oh...that's just 4 days away. Nope. AUGUST 14th. :| That would be 148 days from NOA1. I asked him if there's anything we can do and he said "just keep watching your case status online and see if the status changes".

I guess we wait and continue to watch for Infopass Appointment openings. I'm so frustrated that I want to cry. People who filed over a month after us have had their EAD for some time now. My husband has a job but they won't pay him (and may even let him go) if he can't produce the EAD card soon.

:ranting: that's all. Sorry to keep whining about the same thing. :(

you have every right to whine...I would be furious!

keep on them about it & keep checking for an infopass appt...I bet something opens up soon!

    good luck

    Colleen

  11. CSC has really slowed down! I haven't heard of many approvals there lately...I thought they were really on a roll for a while. :(

It's been 113 days and my husband still hasn't received his EAD in the mail. Was returned to them as undeliverable last month (because they *$ed up our address) and we have no idea if they've resent it. No updates on it since 6/29, the day they told us it was returned to them. No Infopass appointments available until July 23rd, but they'd just tell us that they resent it and they can't do anything anyway.

We really don't know what to do. Any advice? We truly need him to be paid because we have our wedding in 46 days to pay for.

I called USCIS yesterday-they told me to make an infopass appt b/c we are on day 82 waiting for the EAD. I was told that they will give us an interim EAD immediately......I don't know what to say if they don't have any appoinments other than to keep checking & hope that someone cancels their appt.

    good luck

  12. A review of the record indicates that you entered the United States pursuan to a valid K-1/K-2 nonimmigrant visa. All USCIS records relating to you have been reviewed. The U.S Department of State medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026 are not in any of those records.

When reading that, it sounds like your wife's medical from Canada was misplaced or lost. This seems to happen often and most people end up having to get the full medical done again.

it is such a load of sh*t! I mean they make everyone pay for the medical & then they conveniently "lose" the paperwork so you will have to go to a specific "gov't" doctor. what a scam!

    that is so annoying

  13. Congrats Burke! Well, my wife just called because something came in the mail.....an RFE for a medical. The letter said there was some form missing and she needed a full medical, not jsut a supplement. I'm going to post the letter later this evening. She has the option of seeing if her what she has submitted will work. She's calling now to try and clear up the situation. D'oh!

I hope you guys get it all cleared up.......fingers crossed for ya!

My wife called USCIS and the guy was helpful. He said it's recommended we get the full medical, otherwise she could have to go back to Canada and we'd have to start all over again. He also said this isn't what slows things down. It's the background checks.

    MEDICAL EXAMINATION (FORM I-693)

NOTE: All medical examinations and vaccination must be conducted and administered by a physician who is on the list of Civil Surgeons approved by USCIS. To obtain the names and telephone numbers of designated civil surgeons etc. etc................

This looks like all we're waiting on is the medical.

man I hope they aren't going to ask us for this.................did they send you an e-mail about the REF or did it just show up in the mail?

well hopefully you will be approved straight away once they get that paperwork!

  15. After filing for a green card in January, and having our interview in April, we have the temp gc in hand!!!

Thanks so much for any help and advise that we got from this site and the great people willing to help!

For all of those still waiting, good luck and hopefully your gc will arrive any day!

BTW, does anyone know where we can find cheap airline tix to Europe for August?

try orbitz for your flight....................congrats!

  16. Congrats on everyone's approvals. I've been out of town/out of touch since the end of June. Looks like we were touched on 6/30...still nothing yet. Here's my rant/demanding email...WHY NOT?!?!?!?!?!?! :protest::ranting::clock::D

congrats to Burke!!!!!!!!I am going to rant too(well again), it seems that when we rant-we hear something so here goes... :protest::ranting::protest::ranting:

Yep that's my secret Irishgirl. You just watch...within mere days you will see some action. Worked for me and Misa and a few others....:dance:

Ok now what the heck is 'flood control'? I tried to post my message and was told flood control was enabled on tnis board, as well as a limit to emoticons, so I had to delete a few of yours irish...

guess my ranting was just to much for VJ

  17. Looks like CSC is a hell of a lot speedier with AOS approvals than EADs! :P Well hopefully those pending at CSC will receive their AOS approvals soon so they don't have to wait for their EAD.

yeah the EAD is at MSC......obviously they are working at a snails pace

as for CSC, our case hasn't been touched since 6/3, when we rec'd the pending e-mail. It sucks really, I mean some people get approved in 90 days, while others wait years......this whole process STINKS

  18. I think in your case you did the right thing. However I would say in a normal case where no crimes/arrests have been committed its definitely not necessary.

you are 100% right...... people with no arrest record would not have to submit the police clearance. I just happen to be married to an Irishman...who was arrested for drunk & disorderly twice on Paddy's Day in Dublin! what are the chances of that happening?:innocent:

  19. since my husband had 2 previous convictions for drunk & disorderly conduct, I sent in a copy of his police report with the I-485 application, just to be safe

Did they ask for such a report in the AOS instructions?

EDIT: Actually as your husband was arrested, presumably it is required to send this information as he would have had to tick "yes" to one of the "no questions".

 since he was technically "arrested" we did have to tick "yes" and so that is why I sent in the info(so that we didn't risk an RFE). I am pretty sure they did ask for the report

still waiting for some touches......it seems like forever
