You've been married for 4 months. You should still be in the honeymoon phase. He doesn't have a job, yet he chooses to spend time playing cards and swilling coffee with the boys. This is is second marriage. What happened with his first marriage, and why didn't that work out ? As a muslim man, his duty is to take care of his wife by providing for her and the household and making sure her needs are met first. Something is wrong when you are the breadwinner, then come home and cook dinner. He eats it and probably does not feel the slightest bit guilty. However, he reserves time for you on the weekends. Weekends??. But according to you, you say this doesn't really bother you, "nothing really for me to be too concerned about", yet you ask if his behaviour is normal ? I'll answer your question. No, it isn't. Good luck with that.

I haven't had time to read all the responses yet, but I just wanted to say that my life and our relationship has improved so much since I hired a housecleaner. So much. I didn't even realize how much of our problems came down to this issue. I tried for almost 8 long years to change him before I gave up. Maybe some people can learn, but I ran out of energy for the fight.
Of course, this solution all comes down to whether you can afford to do it. We both work, so the dynamic is different. My husband protested paying someone to clean the house (my job, right? though he didn't say as much)...said that he was going to help out more, yadda yadda. He hasn't said a peep since he's seen how the nagging, begging, etc. has stopped.

Well... you sure haven't admitted you've accused me of a whole slew of stuff I never did. I don't expect you will.
As for Sarah - I mentioned her not in sympathy for her as a "victim," but as an example of what has been done with personal pics posted on this site - and not just by outside bloggers, but (and this is the truly weird part) by the current moderator of this forum.

Again, ####### are you talking about? I never made any comments about her (or your) siggy lines - you are invited to scour my posts and find a single one to back up your nonsense.
I am not "defending" Sarah; I am replying to the topic. (As a matter of fact, I had several disagreements with her in various topics over the years.) I mentioned this particular incident here because it directly pertains to this thread - why many MENA members do not post their personal pics. You are trying to make the case that your own personal war with her is somehow relevant to whether or not what happened was wrong. Well it's not relevant - what happened to Sarah was despicable, downright creepy and an outrageous violation of VJ's TOS, whether you liked her or hated her (or were indifferent.)
I really don't expect you to get the point (or ever admit that your bizarre accusations are totally off the mark.) It is clear that you perceive anyone who ever disagrees with you about anything as a member of some sort of organized conspiracy against you (a "cabal" as you used to put it,) somehow in cahoots with the Great Satan Sarah. Again, Tripsville.

LOL ####### are you talking about? I was never EVER involved in your "gross and abnormal" mudfest - I have never EVER made any judgmental posts about couples' age differences. I have only talked about the issue in discussions about what consulates may consider a "red flag," and how to address that issue.
And I have never EVER reported you for anything, much less "brag" about doing such a thing. You are tripping again.

And it's not just the outside bloggers you have to beware of. I think quite a few of us remember a certain VJ member who lifted photos from an unpopular MENA member's profile, then re-posted them on this very forum later on (months after the MENA member had removed them) in an attempt to harrass her.......... BTW the "perp" was neither banned from VJ nor from this forum, but instead was actually elevated to MENA moderator by the site owner. So ladies & gents, be very careful what you reveal here.
