  1. It's true that time really does fly - we have been in UK for a year last week now and the funny thing is that we feel we have been here far longer!!!

Crissy, we must have just missed each other as we flew over here on 29th!!!

  2. We are in the Midlands, a small town called Tamworth which is north of Birmingham and just outside Lichfield. I say Lichfield cos most people know where that is because of the cathedral there!

Hubby is from Rockford (just outside of Chicago), and he loves it here in UK! When I first met him he was adamant that no way was he going to leave his country and move to the land of 'bland' food!! :P

He sings a different tune now and loves most things about UK - he says that he misses the 'chicken coop' that we used to go to where we could get a huge plate of chicken wings with different sauces - mmmmmm, was nice I must admit.

  3. WOW !! I used to live just up the hill from the river in Wilkes-Barre!

Last year just before I left the floodings came to the bottom part of Wilkes-Barre and many had losses or damages - was a shame to walk down the road the week after to see all their sodden furniture and stuff ruined and waiting to be picked up to be dumped!

We have a very good friend who lives there in Wilkes-Barre but is up high! He and his family lost their home in the 72 flooding and he still suffers nightmares about it now. He says he remembers him and his brother working all night with hundreds of others putting sandbags round the river, and them then running away when they realised it was not going to work. Houses were covering up to the attics!!!

So glad that I lived up the hill - I think that would have just been the icing on the cake if we had been affected by any flooding!!! not!

Hope all are okay and things get back to normal soon, whatever normal is in Wilkes-Barre!!

  4. I love ALL the dresses!!!! I'm amazed at no matter how many 'brides' I make, each dress is totally different and every time I get a picture sent to me of a new dress I get excited as I can't wait to get it started!! I've got 8 'brides' lined up waiting to be done and some of their dresses are breath taking!

I've been married twice and on each occassion I wore a 'suit' so never got that chance to wear one of your beautifull dresses, but at least I have the pleasure of making many -and thats good enough in my book

  5. I know the subject of REAL Cadbury chocolate has come up many times but I need advice if anybody knows of anywhere in America that does REAL Cadbury chocolate that I can get delivered?

I'm sitting here in UK packing up some cadbury chocolate for Wyatts daughter and suddenly thought that I'm sure we had a discussion a while back about getting it while I was over there.

By the time I pay the postage on this chocolate here, I may as well try and find somewhere that I can order it online - even if it does work out dearer to buy the chocolate as I'm sure I will save in the postage

so if anybody can point me in the right direction and can guarantee that it is the REAL cadburys (not hersey made), I would be delighted!!!

    thanks!!

  6. Wooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo - 202 viewings and 10 who remember me!!!! . Its so great to see some of the 'oldies' on here <runs fast> and thanks very much for all your well wishes.

I've just come upstairs to my 'craft' room to work on my models. Well its really the small bedroom that we use for the computer/craft and storage room - just sounds good if I say craft room

I wont even try and read all the new posts since I was in last - I think it runs into the thousands! It's really great to see VJ thriving

So what have I missed anyway? You know how nosey I am :innocent: , but like me mother used to say 'you don't get if you don't ask - so I'm asking!!!

  7. Well hello!! Just thought I would peek in and see if anybody remembers me as its been a while since I posted!

I have tried to pop on now and then but life is just so busy and one month stretches into another before we know where we are!

We are just waiting now to hear from the Surgeon to give Wyatt an assessment to see if his heart is now strong enough to have the triple by-pass surgery he so needs - fingers crossed!

My dad died 2 weeks ago :crying: and like we all get, I'm only sorry that I never had the chance to spend more time with him when I could. He's out of pain now and the last thing I would have wished was for him to prolong it, so although its a sad time for us all, we are happy that he is no longer suffering.

Ever since I came back to UK its like it was meant to be! From Wyatt being found to have a serious heart condition, to the birth of my second grandchild and then the death of my father! As well as lots of other things that tell me we came back at the right time!!!!

My wedding cake toppers are really taking off and I'm being kept really busy with them. I can now class myself as an international seller as they go from here to USA, America and even Australia now - I'm dead chuffed  , I've also get referrals from a famous cake shop in Edinburgh as well. So who knows, my dream of working from home may just happen in a couple of years time.

My short term contract ends in the middle of April, but by the looks of things all the contracts should be finalise and signed by the end of this month, so that will then lead to a full contract for me.

So, before I end up writing a book and this is read by those that don't know me :innocent: , I best end now. Those that do remember me, please give me a run down of who is where and what has happened since I was last on please :D

Best of luck to you all waiting for your approvals and your loved ones to join you!

    Pauline :star:

(p.s.. just wanted to show you my lastest topper cos I really love this one - I think she is really classy with her long white gloves! )
