  1. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your warm wishing and thoughts - they really do mean a lot to me!

Latest news is that Wyatt is still on support. He has been back from theatre for about 8 hours now, but his body has not warmed up enough yet for them to wake him up. They are working towards it and once he reaches normal body temperature, they will attempt to wake him up. For now, I'm happy that he is out of theatre and although at this stage I do not know what went on in theatre, I can at least breath better knowing he is stable!

I will be seeing the surgeon tomorrow and be told all that went on and what the outcome is. I'm just sooooooooooooooo happy he came through it  .

I'ts so strange him not being here! I keep looking at his chair and his side of the bed and it seems so weird that he's not here! Hopefully, it wont be long before he comes out and we can get 2007 moving with a far better start!!

Thank you all again, and I will certainly keep you informed of how he is when he wakes up.

  2. Wyatt's operation is going on as we speak. He's been down in theater 4 hours already and no phone call yet!! I was going to do so many things today to keep myself busy, but I just can't get moving and I'm walking round in a kind of daze.

It was horrible leaving him in the hospital last night and so many thoughts are going through my head, thoughts that I don't want to be in there!!! :(

I was not going to go to the hospital today as they will not wake him up for 24 to 48 hours but I know that I am going to go now! There is no way I can not go to see him. Even though he will not even know I'm there - I will know I'm there!

I don't think I've ever known time to go so slowly before and at times I swear some little gremlin is turning the clock back :P

I just want this day over with - in fact, just the next couple of hours and once I know he is up and settled in Intensive Care, then I will breath more easily.

    Pauline (F)

  3. Thanks  .

He will be admitted tomorrow Michelle and then operated on Tuesday

We are both nervous as anything but it needs to be done. I will let you know sometime next week how it all went (he will be in intensive care for a week they told us) and he will not be woken up for 24 to 48 hours so will be oblivious to me being there!

    Take care all.

  4. I'm not sure if you have the Fairies books over in USA but here in UK they are pretty big. All the fairies are names of weather, days, months, seaons, etc etc and my Grandaugher Eleanor wanted me make her the 7 Rainbow Fairies for her bithday cake. Each one is the colour of the rainbow and their names are, Ruby, Indigo, Amber, Fern, Saffron, Heather and Star.

I just wanted to share the photo with you all - still cant get over the fact that I can actully make these!!! The fairies stand at approx 3 and 1/2" high and 3 inches wide.

  5. Thank you! I lit mine for a number of reasons.

One for hubby who is having quadrupal by pass surgery next week, one for my dad who died earlier this year, (F) one for hubbys best friend who died last week (F) , one for my best friends sister who died this year (F) and one for the decision of the adoption panel today to tell my daughter and son-in-law they are about to become parents to a 14 month old son (L).

Sad times behind us, but good times ahead .

I wish each and every one of you good times ahead and peace in your hearts (L)

  6. Thanks for all your well wishes (F) - to say we are scared is a bit of an understatement. But as I keep telling Wyatt, he always told me that we could have a good 25 to 30 years ahead of us and so far we have only had 5, so he's not going anywhere for a long time yet

Christmas has been kind of put on hold this year, but we will make up for it next year in a big way! And we will finally be able to go on holiday!! I have a timeshare in Lanzarote that I've not been to for 5 years and can't wait to take him there - sand, sea and sangria, what more can we ask for :whistle:

Thanks again and I will certainly peek back in and let you know how he is getting on.

    Take care all.

  7. I used my AP twice as well - I was pulled in on both occasions, first time was a 5 minute wait and the second time was a hour and a half wait. Both times was at Newark. I was just asked a couple of simple questions. I also took a copy of my marriage licence with me because my passport had my old name on it.

But all in all, it was nothing to worry about

  8. For those that still remember us, we have at long last a date for Wyatt's operation!! It's for the 19th of this month, which means he will be in hospital all over Christmas - but we are not that concerned because at least he can get it over and done with and we can start the new year better

I will be staying at my daughters house all the while as she lives just 10 minutes away from the hospital. We live over an hour and it would take too much time up with travelling back and forward.

Please keep us in your thoughts :)

  9. <----waves like mad, I'm here!!!! :lol::lol::lol:

Talk about :bonk: because I forgot to change my email address - but its done now.

Anyway, just a very quick update for those that are interested :P

Life is good and although we are still waiting for Wyatt's operation, they are now saying first week in December, which is not too far away now. It looks like its going to be a quiet christmas this year with him convalescing, but hey, long as he's okay thats all that matters. We can always make up for christmas later in the year.

I can't believe that we have been back here now almost a year and a half :o, its just gone so quick!

My toppers have kept me very busy, to say the least! but I have now cut back to doing only 2 a month as it was taking over all my spare time. Working full time (I manage two offices, one here and one in Leeds), and having to come home to start again kind of took its toil, so I've slowed down - thankfully!

Changed our car last month to an automatic, and I love it!! Wyatt still is not allowed to drive but when he is well, he will at least find it easier to drive over here with it being automatic. As long as he remembers he is no longer in the Police and go chasing robbers - hee hee.

08.41am here so its time for my morning coffee - had a bit of a lie in today but is 'up and at em' time.

Hope all are going great and life is treating you well too! I really must pop in more often because there is still a lot of names here that I know and its great to see you all!

    Take care.

  10. LOL Marilyn -thanks for that laugh!! Here's on made me laugh this week as well!

A man boarded an aircraft at London's Heathrow Airport, and taking his

seat as he settled in, he noticed a very beautiful woman boarding the

plane. He realised she was heading straight toward his seat and bingo!

She took the seat right beside him.

Hello, he blurted out, "Business trip or vacation?"

She turned, smiled enchantingly and said, "Business. I'm going to the

annual nymphomaniac convention in the United States."

He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen

sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting for nymphomaniacs!

Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your

    business role at this convention?"

"Lecturer," she responded."I use my experience to debunk some of The popular

    myths about sexuality."

"Really", he smiled, "what myths are those?"

"Well," she explained, "one popular myth is that African-American men

are the most well endowed when, in fact, it's the Native American Indian

who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is that

French men are the best lovers, when actually it is the men of Greek descent.

We have also found that the best potential lovers in all categories are the Irish."

Suddenly the woman became uncomfortable and blushed.

"I'm sorry," she said. "I really shouldn't be discussing this with you, I

    don't even know your name!"

"Tonto," the man said. "Tonto Papadopoulos, but my friends call me Paddy."

  11. Shona, congratulations!!! You deserve some good news at last - I wish you all the luck in the world that you find your 'mr right' one day!!!!

Hang in there gal, your doing great!

  12. Vicki, if you come over to UK on a visitors visa, thats for 6 months....you wont be able to work on a visitors or a fiancee visa though.

If you really want to come to UK, your boyfriend can come over to US on a visitors visa and you can get married - then you can apply for a spousal visa to come over here - approx $500).

A spousal visa will let you work right away, you will not be tied down to staying in UK (you can travel wherever and whenever you want to), you will be entitled to free medical (NHS), and you will not need a medical or police record.

Once you have lived in UK for 2 years, you will have an interiview with the Home Office where they will ascertain that you live as a couple and you can support yourselves etc etc. - cost of £500. You will then get PERMANENT residency and will not have to have anymore interviews of filing of paperwork etc etc.

If after a year of getting your permanent residency, you can, if you wish, apply for citizenship, giving you joint citizenship!

When you go for your interview at the UK Embassy (in USA), you will be asked to prove that you can support yourselves and that you have somewhere to live. Apart from all the normal paperwork, as in birth certificates, passports, x photo's, thats about it really. We went to New York Embassy to get our spousal visa and we were at the 'counter' for all of 10 mins!! We were then told to go and have some lunch and come back to pick it up on 2 hours time.....it really was that easy!!!!!

We will be having our interview with the Home Office sometime next June and we can't wait because we know that is going to be end of all paperwork!! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Pauline :)

  13. Typical of VJ that when you can't be bothered to read all the post and want to say something, that by the time you get to the end of the thread, its changed subject :lol:

I just wanted to add my 2p worth by saying what a lot of you have already said really, that VJ has its ups and down, always has done and always will do - blah de blah de blah - it goes on and on really! VJ has had some REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad times and rows that want to make you crawl under the rug and stay there - but its always died down again. Have to admit though, that it is not the same, but then again, nothing stays the same for ever! And now I'm finished babbling

I wish whoever it is that is leaving/left well.

    Pauline (F)

  14. Hey Vicki!! sorry to hear that things did not work out but also happy to hear that you have picked yourself up, dusted yourself down and finding new love!!

We have been back in the UK now for just over a year and coming this way was by far easy, easy, easy - compared to me going over the US that is! There is a great site that can help you - http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php - Like VJ, I would have been lost without it.

If there is anything I can answer for you, I'm happy to do so!

Hope things go smooth for you and life gets better each week. Your posts always either made me laugh or open my eyes wide !!
