  1. This post is on behalf of friend while filling CR1 for her wife from Pakistan. This post doesn't address to my case.

"I’m getting married in Pakistan over the summer and going to apply my wife for immigration through CR-1 (Spouse Visa). This is going to be a first cousin marriage which is legal in the country of Pakistan. However, Illinois my resident state Prohibits First Cousin marriages with exceptions: 1. Age 50 or over; or 2. Sterile. And was wondering if this would get my spouse her visa denied.

Remember this is an arranged marriage between our parents; she is my mom’s elder brother daughter. What are the solutions? I’m a US. Citizen for last 20 years.

  2. I have some questions regarding AOS Interview from K1, as I have my interview next week.

    1. Is it mandatory for Non-US Citizen to bring Driver's License along with him, as I don't have one yet so I was simply confused regarding this issue.

    2. Secondly, I have already sent the copies of Tax returns of Sponsor and Co-sponsor for last 3 years and I didn't make their copy at the time of submission, so is it necessary to take keep their copies again as I have already submitted those. Moreover, I didn't make the copies of 1-485 form, but I have the photocopy of I-693. So would it be fine ?

  3. Dear All,

I have my AOS interview on 8th May, 2013 from K1. I have couple of questions to be asked:

    1. There are some of the documents enlisted out there at the Interview letter. I have sent all of those things already to USCIS at the time of applying for AOS, do I need to take all those things again there at office at the instant of interview. I mean, I need to present originals for some of the documents, but do I need to take all of the copies of taxes and employment letter again, I am worried because while sending those tax papers, employment papers, I didn't make their extra copies. But would that pile of documents, which I sent at the time of applying to Chicago, be in front of IO at Interview ?

    2. As we have to take photographs to present at the interview, so can I print those photographs on simple paper using color printer, as I just have to present those photographers only once ?

  4. Dear All,

I have a question regarding AOS Interview that I have my AOS interview next month. For right now, me and my wife lives together at my Father-in-Law's home. My wife is also a student and I have applied for couple of good schools as well. Now my question is that do our joint bank account or statement along with the photos would be enough to prove our mutually defined relationship, as we don't share any other liabilities, contracts, insurances or leases. Please advise in this regard. Thank you in that regard. If not then what should we do ?

  6. I recieved all of my NOA1s for AOS, AP and EAD. But there was a slight problem in that my name was written correctly on receipt notice of I-485 and AP letter, but it was written a bit wrongly on my NOA1 of EAD. There was a slight difference, like my first name is SYED HAMZA and last name is MEHDI, and don't have any middle name. So my name was printed like "SYED HAMZA H. MEHDI" . So I have made the service request to USCIS and they said we forwarded your request to the local office, it shall be addressed within next 14 days. Did do the right thing or not ?

I did this, because I didn't want to get carried with this problem !

  7. You should get it latest tomorrow. Probably like 2am on Friday but I'm sure you will get it tomorrow as long as you filed your documents correctly.

I sent them by using Priority USCIS mail and not Express mail, on the address given below:

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

    USCIS

    P.O. Box 805887

    Chicago, IL 60680-4120

    United States of America.

So I guess this is the right address. Please do comment on it.

  8. Dear All,

I have bit of confusion that as I am going to apply for Adjustment of Status after my entrance in US on K1 Visa, so I was filing I-864 as well. But I don't have the tax transcripts for the most recent year 2012, as it has not been filed yet. But I do have the W-2s for year 2012. So I have added the wages there in both W2 forms and have put that value in the most recent year's income textbox there in I-864. Moreover, I have attached the copies of 2011 and 2010. As I already had those.

So my question is, is it fine to send I-864 just along with the W-2s of the most recent year and tax transcripts of 2011 and 2010 or not ? Please advice. I just want to avoid any RFEs !

  11. Dear Fellow,

I have been here in United States since 26th December on K-1 Fiancee Visa and still unable to get the Social Security Number. And as everybody knows, anybody is like a handicap without the social security out here in United States ? Moreover, for how longer the verification of documents can be there at Social Security's End ?

My question is that I have to apply for my AOS as a Permanent Resident. So would it be fine to apply for it without the Social Security Number ?

Moreover, I had to apply for University as well and they definitely require the Social Security Number, so what can I use in substitute of SSN, would it be A-Number or not ?
