Yes, a mail from NVC notifying you that (2) has taken place but none for (1).
Am I supposed to get an email/mail from them notifying me that (1) they've received my case and (2) they've sent my petition to post?

1. Put UNKNOWN for your parents' date of birth. Do not guess anything.
2. I think you have to fill it for the minor and sign on his/her behalf (but someone can correct me on this if I am wrong).
3. Nobody knows what you are applying for. So you have to provide more information on this. But I am guessing you have to put both in one envelope but separate the checks in case there is a problem with one application and so they can go ahead with the one with no problem.
VETRANS OF VJ PLEASE HELP ME IN THE JOURNEY OF MY WIFE AND 2 YEAR OLD CHILD.
MY QUESTIONS ARE:
1. I DON'T KNOW MY PARENTSS DATE OF BIRTH WILL THIS COUSE A RFE OR I CNA JUST GUESS ANY THING. MY PARENTS ARE FROM A VILLAGE AND WERE BORN AT A TIME WHEN THE VILLAGE HAS NO BIRTH AND DEATH REGISTORY.
2. DO I HAVE TO FILL THE THE G-325A FORM, FOR THE MINOR. IF SO WHO SIGNS IT?
3. CAN I PUT BOTH APPLICATIONS IN ONE ENVELOP OR ISSUE ONE CHECK FOR THE TOTAL OF 840 DOLLARS
PLEASE ANY ADVISE WILL BE APPRECIATED OR A REFER TO A LINK THAT I CAN FETCH THE ABOVE INFOR. THANKS

B of A should be able to give you a letter on its letterhead stating the date the act. was opened and present balance and then you can attach your monthly statements for the year and that should be fine.
OK, I went to my B of A to get the requested information for the 1-134. I handed him a request for the date my act. was opened, total amount deposited for the past year and present balance, no problem, I would have the information in 2-3 days, cost $20 per hour, 1 hour minimum.
Well I got the stuff today, I got a bank statement for 1 month! Nothing else. Can anyone tell me what it took to get the required information? Go to the bank, call the customer service? Banks now days have very few people actually working in them so I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I used what dandk suggested. I Scrolled down and captured each screen. Thank you all for the reply.
Skype call logs aren't easy to obtain. You can download and run a program SkypeLogView.exe and get all call logs as well as chat, files and text.
I just used it to get my skype call logs with fiancee last 3 years on a spreadsheet, but its not pretty, I think I will just stick to what others have done with the print screen of the chat window

Thanks
yes,you are right,no DS 157 in the packet they give out.hugs

For those who are going through the K-1 process in Ghana, form DS-157 is not required for K-1 Visa application at the U.S. Embassy in Ghana, right?
-
Yes, you can print out the new version and use it. On arrival in the U.S., maybe you can say within a month when visa is in hand or however sooner you want to leave. You can answer YES and then put UNKNOWN for the name of employer
i made a mistake in filling the DS 230 form, ghana embassy gave me the older version of it,think it is 2003,will a new version of it be accepted by them if i print new one and fill it out? Also how should i answer question 22 which ask,,,when do u intend to arrive in the US,question 32 also ask ,,do u intend to work in the US?IT SAYS IF YES,give he name of complete us employer, soi guess i have to tick NO,would be grateful for your answers and suggestion.thanks for your support and help.

Does the U.S. embassy in Ghana accepts Skype call records that have been copied and pasted in Word document? If not, does anyone know of a better way of printing the call records using Windows?

Thanks a lot
Ourjoy excellent question. And I can tell you from my numerous friends that went through K1 and even CR1/IR1 through Nigeria were denied before they found VJ. Even with lawyers they have been denied. Cuz baby Lagos is its own sepatate thing. (funny I have yet to have a friend who has got a denial who found VJ before the interview hmmm good success rate).
And you are right for you K1ers it says only requirement is to have met within 2 years. And I know for me I knew nothing about high fraud, red flags Bonafide evidence of a marriage (I thought that waas what a marriage certificate was for) after much googling, reading through guides and testimonals my poor husbands embassy falls in that category "guilty so prove yourself innocent". It is what it is.
Many people I know finding VJ after they initially filed, but by NVC found it have front-loaded at that stage. Because unfortunately too many times we have all read here "The CO wouldn't let me show my evidence I brought". So why not put in their hands ahead of time.
Look at it this way you are trying to convince a total stranger that you two are in love and deserve to be together on US soil. So your evidence needs to convey such a relationship and love story.
-
But USCIS only request "evidence of having met in person within the two years prior to filling your petition" and this may be different front "evidence of ongoing relationship" that the embassy requests. If you haven't visited sites like VJ, you wouldn't know to front load it at the USCIS state, which I did not. So why should the embassy rely only on the evidence presented to USCIS and not wait for the evidence to prove ongoing relationship before even having thoughts of approval or denial. They are just playing with people's life
Of course they have made a decision. They have had probably a good month or more to examine your evidence. Thats why front-loading for many of the toougher embassies (Like my husband Nigeria) is so vital.
When you think about it whatelse can be said or done at an interview. The denials at times are pretty compelling so unless someone had some real good counter evidence there's no much more to say or do.

What is it about some files being in pink (or having pink ribbons around them) and some in white. I have read on VJ about some people seeing their files in pink at the embassy interview and being worried about been denied their visa. Also, a friend went to a spousal interview on Monday and saw that her file had a pink ribbon around it and she wasn't the visa (told to bring further evidence they listed) but those whose files had white ribbon got approved. It seems that the consular officers make up their minds before you even sit in front of them.

Kindle, if I may ask, why did Logos embassy say you are married and hence denied your K-1 petition? Is it because you submitted a document that showed that you were married?
just got approved today after 70 days csc. so happy.
this is my story, i filled k1 apps last july and it was apporved by uscis, lagos embassy declined it cos they said we are already married!!!!!. i traveeld back to nigeria and got married within 2 weeks of the denial and came back to us and filled a new cr1 apps. i am so happy that it took only 70 days for them to approve it once again. Now the next stage is the nvc and the long wait for interview. GOD HELP US

Yes, I have passport stamps copies of my last trip plus I will be there at the interview and so she will take my passport to verify the stamps if they want.
Highlighting is fine- I highlighted all 50,000 text messages
They may ask why these are recent pictures and she/you can explain- having other evidence that spans time will help. Cards (hopefully you have the envelops because that shows the date)
The rest looks about what we submitted. (we had many pictures but pictures are not everything for sure.) Are you providing passport stamp copies for those trips? or something showing you were actually therE? (plane ticket, itineraries)

Hi guys, I am gathering "evidence of ongoing relationship" for my K-1 petition and I have some questions: (1) I have call records from Rebtel and my question, is it OK to highlight the calls to my fiance to make it easy for the CO to see them or the embassy doesn't want any highlights?, (2) I lost the pictures that I took with my digital camera when I last visited my fiancee before sending in the I-129F petition (I lost the camera and those are the only pictures I have with her) and so I am planning of going back two weeks before her interview and take some pictures with fiancee, family and friends again plus be with her at the interview if they will allow me inside. Do you think these pictures (to be taken later) will be enough (as far as providing photos as evidence) or the embassy will want photos over several months and hence give my fiancee a hard time? and (3 ) in addition, I will also provide, as evidence, her call records from MTN in Ghana, few emails (we hardly use emails), few cards (no hand written letters) and Skype call records. Will these be enough? Suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

No one can tell you exactly how long it takes. Mine was received by NVC after 6 days of me receiving email/text from USCIS and it took NVC another 6 days including weekends to finish processing it. NVC will send you a letter after they have forwarded it to the embassy. Just give it some time and then call NVC again. In order not to get hold up for that long, consider calling after 10pm if you awake by then since there is very few people calling at that time

Yes, the I-134 has to be signed by whoever is filling the form (if it is for K-1 visa, then by the U.S. Citizen who is petitioning). There is no need to notarize it.
-
I have a friend who went to spousal visa interview in Ghana today and she was asked, among others, to SPECIFICALLY bring call records (before her interview today) from her U.S. citizen husband in the U.S. but unfortunately (1) her husband is a prepaid customer and (2) he only uses calling cards to call his wife in Ghana. The embassy SPECIFICALLY stated in a form they gave her that they won't accept calling cards. They did not ask her to bring her MTN call records from Ghana that can show the calls between them before her interview today though. Since there is no way her husband can get his call records in the U.S. because of (1) and (2) above, I suggested to her to do what I am planning on doing for my K-1 fiance and that is to still go and request her MTN call records and then get her husband to write a notarized statement saying that he is a prepaid customer and that his network provider doesn't give monthly statements or call records to prepaid customers and then she can use her MTN call records instead. (I am a T-mobile "Monthly 4G prepaid" customer and I called T-mobile and they said they don't give call records to "Monthly 4G prepaid" customers and I requested a letter saying that I am a prepaid customer and that they don't give call records to "Monthly 4G prepaid" customers and they still refused). What do you guys think or do anyone has some ideas. Thanks.
-
Well I don't think you can get an unlimited international call plan to Ghana with a fix price (like say $100) from any of the major networks or any prepaid plan like. Those are only for domestic (U.S. and Canada and Mexico at times). But you can use say T-mobile/Verizon/AT&T (non-prepaid) to make direct calls to Ghana but that will cost you a whole lot.

Thanks to all who replied. For Ning, I think that you learned something now. Yes the embassies do know the huge difference but yet some do ask applicants such questions and I posted this question after going through reviews that some VJ members posted and it was part of some. But thanks for your reply anyway. I appreciate it when people do respond to others questions. That's what most of us, if not all, are here in VJ for.

I have known my fiancee for a long time. We grew up in the same neighborhood. I chose the K-1 process instead of the marriage visa petition because it is faster. Has any beneficiary been asked at the interview as to why their petitioners decided to file a K-1 visa petition instead of the marriage visa petition and they gave the reason that because K-1 petition is faster and their petition were denied? For successful applicants, what were some of the reasons why you chose the K-1 process instead of marrying beneficiaries abroad?

Thanks very much for the response
Hello, hope you all are doing fine? yes you will write a letter to them, they now give 6 months of phone records and they now send it into your email for you to print them out. There is no fee for that, when submitting your letter you will have to take along your passport, they normally send them within 2 business days but they cant be trusted,so when you submit the letter let me know will give you a number to keep calling till they send it to your email.hugs

Hi Guys,
For those who requested their cell phone records from MTN: (1) did you have to write a letter requesting the records for visa interview purpose?, (2) how long did it take to get the records? (3) how far back can you request them ( 1, 3, 6 or 12 months or all)? and (4) how much did it cost if there was a fee? Thanks
Ghana: Whilst inside the embassy I need a Step-by-step guide
in Africa: Sub-Saharan
Posted
For those who have gone for a K-1 Visa at the U.S. embassy in Ghana, I need a step by step guide that you or your beneficiaries went through while inside the embassy. I just want to calm the nerves of my fiancee whilst inside the embassy. Can you guys tell me, from the entrance to front desk to the interviewing office, at what stages do they collect the various DS forms (and are made to sign them) and other documents while inside the embassy?
