  1. During the adjustment of status process, it is my understanding that my fiancee won't have to do another medical (if medicals is less than a year old) but just have some sections os form I-693 filled. What will she need to show a civil surgeon before form I-693 will be filled? Form DS-3025?, vaccination records? Was she suppose to be given a copy of form DS-3025 (or vaccination records signed by the doctor) while in Ghana by the doctor who did her medicals? Does Akai House (where she did her medicals) give you a copy of medical records? I want to make sure she brings along all necessary documents before she leaves for the U.S. Thanks.

  2. Hello,

I want to know if form I-94 is the only form that my fiancee will have to fill out either on the plane or on arrival at the port of entry? Are there other forms she has to fill out too? Also, it is my understanding that K-1 visa holders are not required to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee of $165. Am I right?

    Thanks

  3. Hi all,

Just wanna thank all for the help provided on here at VJ. My fiancee's K-1 visa was approved on June 19, 2013 and she got the visa on June 21, 2013 (today) after 7 and half months in AP. She got a call from the embassy on May 29 to come on June 19 with a new medical and police certificate. I am a very happy man now. For all those still in AP, I wish you a speedy process and I hope that you all come out of AP very soon and successfully. Thanks

  4. Sorry for the confusion, the interview was in the first week of November 2012 (being in AP for about 7 months). She has been call to come with a new medical and police report (that's what they asked her to bring along but I was wondering if they may ask for more documents like tax transcript once she gets there)

  5. Hi All,

I want to know if the U.S. embassy in Ghana will require a 2012 Tax Return Transcript After Administrative Processing is over. My fiancee's interview was in 2011 and the one present at the time was a 2011 one. Now that we are in 2013, my question is will they require a new (2012) tax transcript after the AP is over or the 2011 one presented at the 2012 interview is enough? Also, after the AP is over and they call you to the embassy, will they do a second interview?

    Thanks

  7. My ceac status apdate changed from this
    (1)
    U.S. Department of State
    NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
    Issued

Application ID or Case Number: ACC2012xxxxxx xx ACC

    Case Creation Date: 13-Jul-2012

    Status Updated Date: 09-Apr-2013

    to this

    (2)

    U.S. Department of State
    NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
    Administrative Processing

Application ID or Case Number: ACC2012xxxxxx xx ACC

    Case Creation Date: 02-Nov-2012

    Status Updated Date: 02-Nov-2012

13-Jul-2012 is the date NVC received the file

09-Apr-2013 is the date I last contacted the embassy by email

02-Nov-2012 is the date after the interview (I am assuming the date when they actually put us under AP)

The status check has remained the first one (1) untill this Monday. Has it happened to anyone else or does anyone has a clue as to what is going on? Is there a problem with ceac.state.gov site or something is going on at the embassy?

  8. Changing his name from a muslim name to an American name and then back to a muslim name should not cause the denial unless he concealed relevenat information from the embassy and they found out. I think you are allowed to change your name to whatever name and as many times as you want if it is done "correctly". If he wansn't denied for misrepresentation or on some serious issue, then they can fix once they hear from NVC with the help of a lawyer.

  9. A friend just went through the same process. For them their baby was born in Ghana and did the 3way DNA. The fiance did his DNA in the USA and she and the baby did theirs in Ghana and was sent back to the U.S. like yours. Once theie DNA came back and the embassy was satisfied with the results, her visa was issued (and she also got a passport for the baby). She will be coming to the U.S. this month. So, to answer your question, I will say once the DNA results comes back and everything is right and there are no outstanding issues (that is, if the embassy doesn't demand other things) then I believe that your visa will be issued and you can be with your fiancee and baby. Good luck.

  10. Hi,

Well my fiancee has been in AP 6 months now. We were told at the interview that our case was randomly selected by the computer for AP but it is hard to believe that now given the long wait. A status check at the ceac.gov says visa "Issued" but I guess what the DOS or the embassy says count (still in AP).

I know every case is different and how long it took others may not necessarily apply to me but I just want to hear from people who have recently had their AP completed at the U.S. Embassy in Ghana, especially K-1 petitions. Between the time you were told that you will be put under AP and when they contacted you that the process is completed (1) did the embassy call asking anything? (2) did any embassy official go to your/fiance(e)'s residence, school, workplace etc and conducted further checks? (3) how long was your waiting period between interview date and when AP was completed? (4) did a congressional enquiry helped speed up things, in your opinion?

    Thanks all in advance.

  11. I check the ceac.state.gov every evening and it still says "Issued" but DOS and the embassy still tell me that we are in AP. Our last status update was January 29, 2013.

  12. Hi all,

Has anyone gotten out of AP in Ghana since the beginning of this year? Also, a status check at www.ceac.stata.gov says visa issued but a call to the DOS and an email to the Ghana embassy shows still in AP. I guess the latter check overrides the former but has anyone experience this?

    Thanks.
