  1. Hi Everyone. My husband had his interview on September 10th, 2012 at the US Consulate in Tirana, Albania. After reviewing all his paperwork (all updated) the officer had asked him the following questions:

1- How long have you been married?

2- How many times has your wife traveled to Albania during this time?

3- Where were your children born? (We have two daughters together, both born in USA)

4- What does your wife do for a living in USA?

My husband had worked in Greece for 5 years prior to our marriage and they wanted the police certificate from Greece, which my husband had provided (by obtaining it in person from Greece), but apparently the US Embassy wanted him to apply for it through the Greek Embassy in Albania and then the Greek Embassy had to forward it to the US Embassy. That process lasted 3 weeks. The US Embassy called my husband this morning to tell him that his visa was approved and that he needs to send his passport in to receive the visa. We are extremely happy right now :dance::dance:

Thank you so much to everyone here for all of your support. Good luck to you on your journey waiting to be reunited with your loved ones. I know it is a long, painful and stresful journey, but in the end....IT IS ALL WORTH IT :)

  2. My brother finally is here, he came on the 25 of September , hope you have a good news to share soon. Good luck with everything

That is wonderful. We are still waiting on the paperwork from Greece. It is frustrating because no one tells you exactly how long it will take. At first they told us 2 weeks, then 3 weeks, now they are saying it might take up to a month or more. It is crazy....I will let you know though :star:

  5. Sorry to hear that dear but INSHALLAH you will get it very soon.

I have a question from you. I am a spouse of LPR use to live in UK for 8 years, my wife applied F2a visa for me when i was in UK. I have sent PCC of UK and Pakistan both with DS230. Now do i need to get police certificate of UK and Pakistan again ( new ones) at the time of interview???.

    thanks in Advance.

    Regards

    Kj

Hi and thank you for your wish.

Regarding your question, every consulate is different. My husband submitted the greek police certificate to the NVC with his DS-230 also, but they asked for it at the interview too. I do not know how the US consulate works in your country, but in my opinion better safe then sorry. If you can obtain another one close to your interview date just in case they ask for it would not be a bad idea. Good luck :)

  6. they are such a pain, ughhhh sa te kqij jane vetem te nxjerrrin pune e shtojne kohen me shum :(. try to get the paper as soon as you can. Does he need to go in Greece to get it , or just embassy need to send to TR ? My goodness ishalla bashkim sa me te shpejte. I will update u on my case.

He does not have to go to Greece. He applied at the Greek Embassy in Tirana as soon as he was done with the interview and they said that is usually takes a couple of weeks. What can I say, once again we just have to wait and see....Yes please update me about your case. Ishallah nuk keni per te pritur edhe shume.

  7. Hello AlbF2A

I am sorry to hear that your husband didnt get his visa today, he will get it once he has the doc they require. I just had one question. What is this police certificate that they ask him for? Is your husband living in Greece? My husband has visited Greece 2 times since I filed the documents for him, do they need proof for that, I mean do they need to know where did he stay , the reason he went, etc?

Thank you and hope you will see him soon!

My husband worked in Greece for 5 years from 1998-2003, and basically they are asking for a proof that he did not commit any crimes while he was there. My husband had obtained the police certificate from Greece that shows that he did not commit any crimes, but apparently they wanted him to apply for that document at the Greek Embassy in Tirana and then the Greek Embassy will forward it to the US Embassy. Hopefully that will not take longer than 2 weeks---that's what they have said. Will see... ----Anyway, if your husband has been in Greece or anywhere else for more than 6 months at a time, make sure to request this document in advance from the Greek Embassy. My husband said you just pay 20 euros and fill out an application and they take care of it. As far as I know, they do not ask for the place where your husband stayed or what he did. Hope this helps----Good luck to both of you :)

  8. Hey hun I'm sorry didn't check the forum in a while, so now we are in process of getting the result to embassy in TR I really hope goes fast. Make sure he gets photos when the kids were babiess ,it's very important to get as many as he have ,like you with kids him ect. We didnt know but when my brother went there they asked if he had pics with my mom so he didn't have them and they asked him they needed strong proof of relationship which was DNA test or pics ect. I really wish him best of luck. I hope they don't request DNA its just pain in the butt plus expensive $790 cost it for us ;(, please let me know Monday. Oh the consular didn't pay attention to i864 or i864a ,most important was the proof of relationship . Keep me posted,

My husband did not get the visa today. They needed a police certificate from Greece, which my husband did have, but it had to come directly from the Greek Embassy. They have not explained that anywhere. If we knew we had to apply at the Greek Embassy we could have done that in advance. Oh well, that will take about 2 weeks they said. Let's see what happens. We are very disappointed :(

Thank you so much for your reply and good wish. Yeahhhh....he is taking an album with like 100 pictures with him from the first time we met until the last time I was there last year with the kids. Also he is taking with him all the call records, and skype records and all letters and postcards I have sent him over the years...We are nervous, but hopefully everything will go smoothly....I will let you know tomorrow :) thanks again

  10. Hey nela, I was wondering if your brother completed the DNA test and if he is in the US now. My husband has his interview this coming Monday, September 10th ----getting very nervous---we do not know what to expect----we think we have everything they can possibly ask for unless they ask for the DNA Paternity test for our two children. That can delay things a bit. Oh well...what are we supposed to do. I am just praying that things go smoothly :) I really hope your brother's process is now complete. Please let me know. Gjithe te mirat :)

  11. Yesterday my wife had a medical and she was all set !!!!

    Interview is on 13 Sep

Good luck to you and your wife....My husband is waiting for his medical exam, which will be on the 4th of September and his interview will be on the 10th of September...His PD is 26 March 2010..Getting very excited, but nervous at the same time...the Albanian consulate is known for bringing, especially the male applicants, back for a second or third time....Hopefully not my husband...we have everything they could possibly ask for...unless they ask for a DNA Paternity test for our two children (they have done that a lot lately)....that will delay things more and plus is also expensive. Anyway, we are prepared for the worst and hope for the best...that's all we can do. Good luck to everyone else in this forum...Keep supporting each other...it is very important...I will update. :)
