"My husband and I have had a long online relationship, and when we met we got married on the first meeting"
You dont have to worry about meeting and getting married in your first time of meeting your spouse...CO will never use that against you.....different couples with different private reason of doing things..for example in my own case, there was nobody to babysit for our 2 kids when she wanted to visit me for the time and also, we were trying to save some money on flight ticket as we all know the current global economy crisis affecting average family all around the globe. All your spouse needs to do is get all necessary papers and have a reasonable response to the CO. Good luck

    Olakunle39 got a reaction from Maureen&Todd in B1/B2 and K1 denial - applying for CR1 Visa
What i can say is the US embassy in Nigeria drills Nigerians too much because of our so-called reputation other people say we have, in every way of life, so these guys at the US embassy don't really know who is who, they believe 70% of our application for any type of visa are fake except if a parent is filing for a child or a child is filing for a parent. I am a Nigerian living in South Africa and i am filing for my CR-1 here because i live here and i got married to my wife here and i must file for my immigrant visa where i got married according to the United State immigration rule.
Age can never be the problem in any filing because people fall in love regardless the age, tribes or cultures but the location and the orientation that is given to the US embassy staffs working in Nigeria is the main issue. If you want to know what i am talking about go check this link and see US embassy South Africa Review and compare it to US embassy Nigeria review.
    http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=South%20Africa
They are friendly and hardly ask for more than 4 questions whether is K1 or whatever. I advice you to file for Cr-1 and you dont have to worry about it..you already have a strong reason to be given in your defense. Good luck !

Nobody here said that YOU have to believe in God.
I believe in God, I believe he gave me the strength to get through this process.
If you don't believe, it's fine, no one here is forcing you to.
Be respectful, just like we respect you.

Unfortunately, from your point of view... Fortunate from mine... his God, and mine also, is in control and has a plan for us all.. this is the same God who wants you to be a part of His family.. but, you will have to make the decision (and probably already have) if you will allow God to be the center of your life. Remember you can always change your mind.
My response was due to your response to someone else's beliefs.
Bottom line... if you disagree.. be gracious about it. State that you disagree but don't lash out at someone else.
Have a great day and good luck on your K1...

Amen...I second your "God" is in control this is the reason some people are blessed beyond measure because they recognize that there is a God who sets up kings and takes them down! Blessed be the name of the Lord

Wow, I think its sad how others come down on a person for just posting something positive like " God is in control". The topic is about CSC delays and the issue relating to the processing of cases. So, when a person who gives a response that is not offensive but uplifting or gives a person hope others what to add two negative cents to the topic. Unbelievable. For those whose cases are at CSC all I can say is stay positive, try to stay busy, and continue to be patient.

I understand your frustations. I have been married over 29 months now and still waiting for my husband to come to America. But you are not respecting others beliefs when you make a post like this.
God loves you and created you and I pray that you will always know this in your heart. I do not mean any offense to you by telling you this.

There's plenty of things in the Bible about being kind to the stranger in your midst.
When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien. The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34; compare Exodus 23:9 and Deuteronomy 10:18-19; also read Job 31:32, Zechariah 7:9-10, Matthew 25:31-46, and 1 John 3:17-18)
Unfortunately the Republicans seem to be reading a different Bible.
I'm perfectly irreligious myself, by the way, yet my fundamentalist Christian brother and sister-in-law are for all the oppressive laws in Arizona and all the proposed border ####### here in Texas. And he and I are the son and daughter of a refugee from the Hungarian Revolution, and she was literally smuggled across the Rio Grande as a baby. I don't get it.
And yes, my husband is an atheist as well. You know that Northern Ireland joke about "Yes, but are you a Protestant atheist or a Catholic atheist?" IT'S NOT A JOKE.

I have felt that pain at the airport, too. Some take the 'easy' way, short circuiting the system and in all likelihood lengthening the process for those of us who chose to follow the law and the legal path to immigration. Why do we do it? I can only speak for myself. I do it because I try to be a law abiding citizen. And there is another, more personal, reason. I don't want to spend the rest of my life looking over my shoulder. And even if we could be together today, the pain of being ripped apart with little hope of reuniting would be far greater than the pain that I suffer today. So I chose to look toward a bright future, albeit delayed.

I fully support the right of everyone to switch countries if they want to, dammit. Remember that the target of our ire is not the illegal immigrants, it's the system that made it difficult for everyone and practically impossible for them. Any step towards reform is a step in the right direction.
That said, yes, I would be completely ticked off if I found that our case, where we are waiting in distress for a process taking several months while we are forced to live apart, is taking a back seat to cases where the immigrant spouse didn't even wait for legal permission. THEY get to spend time together because they didn't follow the rules. WE have to force ourselves to drive to the airport and put our beloved spouse on an airplane and not see them until we don't know when, because we do want to do things the right way.

That is totally my situation... I'm no spring chicken or some 20 something year old. I finally met the love of my life & my biological clock is ticking. That is why reading stuff like this made me upset because I'm a legal American born and raised here. I myself didn't realized there was such a LONG list of all this paperwork, waiting in line thing...etc. etc.
I also thought since I am USC, my hubby should be able to fly back with me or get his visa like getting a drivers license. Boy was I naive!
Never been married before, no kids & same for my hubby. So there better NOT be any difficulty for us. I guess this is all a life learning experience for us for being an international couple! Today is officially our 2 month (60 days) since our NOA1 and I know...I'm not holding my breath for any NOA2 coz I've read almost all postings and its still early in our journey! Staying positive & wishing every one the best.

Everyone.. Isn't the point that the USCIS, CSC, NVC, etc.. need to be more efficient and consistent in processing any of the petitions? If.. they truly have halted, or slowed, processing for all but the Dream Act paperwork this is wrong. NOT because this is for people who were illegal BUT rather we ALL deserve to have a fair and timely process. Also, I think a year apart from your loved ones is insane AND yes I knew this would take time. My fiancée is soooooooooo worth the wait. But, maybe there needs to be more staff, better control of the process, etc, etc.. That is the point I made when writing to my Senator and Representative.

I'm not responsible for what other people say or do, they are big boys and girls. People can be hurtful when they talk out of frustration, it's not right but we all have our moments. And for the Dream Act, that is great for everybody illegally in the US. I should've stay illegally when I had the chance and I wouldn't be here whining, oh well I'm never said I'm against it, I said that I'd like something like that for the rest of us, like a waiver or something. One can still dream, right?
If you think the process is short, well, awesome for you, enjoy! What am I supposed to say? That I'm ok waiting over the time frame they give you went you apply? Well, hell no, I'm not ok and I'll say as much. You like to wait, I don't, sorry I guess.
What's the big deal if we want to send out letters? What if I want to feel like I'm doing something? It's my time, I'm not as patient as you seem to be. You should start your own post saying that we all be so grateful that things are going so fast!

If you take the time to read what I've been saying throughout this post, then you will understand what I'm complaining about. It seems to me that you are taking this personal. I have no interest in making people upset, so if you don't like this post, just move on, it's that easy. I complain because I can and because I want to. I complain not because illegal inmigrants are taking up spots, but because the goverment is not being as helpful with us. I complain because this process shouldn't be this long. If you don't want to send a letter to a senator, then don't, it doesn't bother me. If you don't agree with what I say, it doesn't affect me one bit. Sit and wait, that is fine with me as well. We are all different here, that's the beauty of it. And we are inmigrants, most of us here, or are filing for an inmigrant spouse, just like you. So don't tell us that we are not ok with inmigration because that just doesn't make sense.
We want to complain, we want to make noise, SO WHAT? We are not going to mail you. It's easy, you don't like this post, then go to the main page and pick another one, there are plenty, I'm sure you'd like some of them!
    Aprice, just let us be!!!
