Hi Everyone,
My fiancee is in Russia, and I am in the U.S. I finally received NOA1 and our application is being processed at the Texas Center. I am aware that I have to wait for NOA2, but is there any documentation I should be getting ready while waiting for NOA2?
Also he should be preparing his documentation for the interview in Moscow while we wait, right? Are there any documents he needs that take longer to receive in Russia than others -- as in, is there anything he should be prioritizing working on right now?
We are both upset that he has to fly all the way to Moscow to do the interview and the medical, and I still don't fully understand how that part of this works (how the appointments will be set up, etc.) so we want to be fully prepared for that time.
I know there is a lot of information already on this site, and I have been looking at it, but it helps me to receive fresh info, hear new stories, etc. so thank you very much for your help! =) If anyone else reads this who had a fiancee in Russia (or is waiting on one) like me, I'd be happy to hear from you, too, just for support, etc. =)
~ Samantha
Well, recently the NOA1 to NOA2 process for K-1s seemed to be taking a couple of months, so maybe he can start getting the police certificate. If he has the rest of documents, i think that's the thing that takes the longest (a month in Moscow, don't know about other cities). Just my $0.02.

We called and got our case number IIN Number and Beneficiary Number today as well. What is the Beneficiary number? This is the first I am hearing of this Number??
Um, i think it was still mentioned in the NVC Filers post in November. Apparently they're still assigning those even if they don't use it. I just got it in case it's needed (i didn't know exactly what for), if Saylin says it's not needed anymore then i just have it but won't use it.

By calling or were you notify by mail for the NVC case #?
By calling.

Short status update: we got the NVC case number, invoice and beneficiary ids today. The bills haven't been invoiced yet though.

Mrs. T-B.'s thoughts are that the husband should hire a maid!
Lol, well i hire one in Russia. I hope i can keep it up in the US as well.

They should just be closed for Christmas, December 25th. They should be open the rest of the days. But, keep in mind, I'm sure there's a bunch of workers who have taken time off on the other days for a holiday break, so a back log might occur, thus time frames go up.
This is pretty much what i was thinking. Thanks!

Yesterday we found out that our case reached the NVC. No case # yet though.
Does anyone know how NVC is working next week with Christmas and all? We want to call them again to see if the number's there yet. Thanks!

lately it has been taking 8 weeks, or more if your interview at the embassy is scheduled for you then it might take a bit longer,
What are you talking about? The question is about the transfer from USCIS to NVC, interview scheduling in the embassy is a while later than that. I mean, there's a number of steps in between.

Hello everyone, I thought it would be interesting to ask how has your RUB / former FSU wife changed since coming to live with you if any... I'm interested in after a year or several years have you seen tendencies to maintain cultural / family qualities and traditions and keep the basic qualities that caused you to look in a former FSU country. Now I am not saying anything against any American women... there are many good, quality American women. I'm just interested in any major changes for better or worse that you have noticed.... Also how have you changed for better or worse in your opinion.. I'm not really interested in how women from other countries have fared as that would be portal / country specific. I have been searching for a FSU wife for some time now.. Thanks to private advice from a VJ member who has earned my respect and admiration....... my prospects are really looking good now for my dream to become reality and I'd like to get the humble opinions of those of you who are living the dream...
Thanks, Everyone.
What 'basic qualities' do you mean exactly, if you don't mind me asking?

I liked the second article, it really gives some insight. Thanks for posting!

I like the name Zoya and it's not purely islamic, i think, because it's fairly common in Russia as well. Not as much as Anna and Maria of course, but still.

Come or immigrate? Just coming to visit is a tourist is a B-1/B-2, immigrating is a CR-1/IR-1. Really, check out the Guides section? It does have a lot of information. And PS: in the beginning it's you who fills in the forms.

Uh huh, loads of hacking skills required for that one.

I missed that you got your noa2, just wanted to send my belated congrats! Hope to follow you soon to the nvc thread!
Thanks! We got the message on Saturday, yes. I hope you do too! I'm trying so hard to wait before starting to bug NVC about case number. (At least till like Friday). Lol.

Congrats to everyone who got approved! We've had a long wait. Now the (more) active stage begins!
-
I have to say it seems to have picked up speed since the transfers, though. Many March and February filers are getting approved these days.

It depends on whether or not you want the interest income to be considered. If you don't, file the EZ.
I'm not sure which of the 1099 it is exactly (not sure it's interest income). Thanks for the info!

Nobody is responding to me. So I'll repeat the question:
should we be doing I-864 or I-864EZ: my husband has some income in w-2 and some in 1099x and there are no dependents (only petitioning for me). Can he do the EZ or since not all income is covered with W-2 he should do the regular one?
Anyone? Thanks!

I thought the NVC would let me know when the interview is. I schedule it, for sure?
I think for K-1 you schedule it (non-immigrant visa with an DS-160), for CR-1/IR-1 they schedule it for the person.

Hi all, i've just had the NOA2 on the 22nd, so joining ranks and doing my homework now.
Short question: should we be doing I-864 or I-864EZ: my husband has some income in w-2 and some in 1099x and there are no dependents (only petitioning for me). Can he do the EZ or since not all income is covered with W-2 he should do the regular one? Thanks!

Ok thanks. I thought the uscis website only tge petitioner can check. We already have an account there but i didnt check cause i thought it might be blicked if aside from husband thetes another ip address they will detect and thought it might be hacked or something. Have ur beneficiary tried tgat with tge sane acount there using?
You can set up 2 separate accounts if you want. You are not seeing anything secret anyway.I've had an account there for a long time now.
What a great anniversary gift! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Thanks! Turns out it was notification that was sent on the anniversary, the approval itself was yesterday.
Send original documentation???OMG

Don't panic, everyone has to do it. You'll get them back at the interview from what i hear in VJ. And you have to send in photocopies as well btw.
Yes, there's a chance they lose it, but i think that's always the case. So far what i've read here that seems to be handy is the advice to pencil in the NVC case # on the top of each document.
