Dear VJ members,
I am naturalizing at the beginning of 2017 and my parents' tourist visa expire in December 2016.
I would like to know if I can have them stay here and apply for green cards even though their visas are expiring soon, or I have to send them back home and re-enter the US before I file i-485 for them.
Please help and I really appreciate your time.
Thank you!

Got it.
Thank you!
I hope others also got it in two days.
I need to update my employer and they need me on Monday.

Hi dear forum,
USCIS site said that my EAD was sent today to my address.
It's Thursday today and my Employer is asking if I can start on Monday.
I don't have a USPS tracking number yet and I wonder how many days it took your EAD to arrive.
Thank you!

I thought USPS would have to pick up the card when it's ready.
Then USCIS will give me a tracking number.
All this sounds like it will take another 5-10 days.
I just wonder what they did when they said on July 5th that they ordered a card.
You may have it this Saturday... but I would not bet a million dollar on it.
-
Thank you.
I guess I need to tell my employer to postpone it again.
I guess at some point I will get a USPS tracking number?

I hope I will be as lucky as you are.
My employer wants me to start on the 15th.
I thought I could receive it this week.
But it doesn't seem like it anymore.
It's normal and does that to everybody, don't pay too much attention to those updates. Your card will be in your mailbox soon.
I got mine 3 days after the second card production email.

On July 5th, a card was ordered.
On July 10th, a card was ordered again.
What is going on?
So they didn't do anything on the 5th?!

Good news:
My EAD was just approved.
You could expedite yours like I did.
It really works!

Hi dear VJ friends,
I would like your opinion on the accuracy of VJ's predictions on EAD time.
I remember when I got P2 for K1, the date prediction was about 6 days behind.
That said, regarding EAD, I'm a filer from CA and my time line says:
Based on timeline data, your EAD may be adjudicated between July 11, 2013 and July 14, 2013*.
I would like to hear other filers who have EAD approved, especially from CA like I am, about the accuracy on this.
This would be extremely helpful.
Thank you so much!

Mine took longer than a month.

Hi there,
If your fiance has a job offer, you can also call your district congressman to expedite the EAD.
That's what I have learned from the forum.
Good luck!!!

Thank you so much.
I really appreciate this!!!
I really hope this will work.

With your current timeline, I would not hope too much about getting the EAD in hand by July 10th. Even if your EAD is approved, let's say July 9th, you would have to wait to have the card in hand and it takes about 1-2 weeks after approval.
With a job offer letter, you could try to expedite your application...
As Darnell said, call them. If it doesn't work, schedule an InfoPass appointment at your local USCIS office. If it doesn't work, contact your representative.

Thank you very much!
I really need the EAD since my employer needs to hire me legally and send me out of the US soon.
I hope they will give me the EAD soon.

It can happen that you get an interview before the EAD is ever approved. Some people receive it right before the interview, and some people never get it. The EAD is not needed once the green card is approved.

Thank you so much!
click, read, please...

What number should I call and what is a CSR please?
so, no rfe imminent - that's a good thing .
i think you should call and ask about the EAD with a CSR.

whats the status say?
also - when you call into USCIS, what status do you get when talking with a CSR?
I haven't called USCIS yet.
I didn't think I would need to.

Hi,
But my case status for the green card has changed and I'm waiting for an interview date.
Doesn't that mean I won't have an RFE?
Thank you so much for replying.
Cin
depends.
if no rfe on the green card application, then sure ! absolutely !
iirc, you have issues on i-864 with 2012 tax year documents.

Dear forum,
Can you please tell me if an early biometrics interview (walk-in) would affect the processing time for EAD please?
I have found a job and my employer needs a time estimate on the EAD.
Thank you so much!

Hi forum,
I'm a Chinese citizen who entered the US at the end of April.
I got married to my fiancé and we filed applications for AOS, EAD and AP on May 6th.
We received NOA1 on May 14th.
Even though the biometrics was scheduled to be on June 10th, we did walk-in biometrics on May 30th.
Or:
2013 April 29th - Married
2013 May 14th - NOA1
2013 May 30th - Walk-in Biometrics (originally scheduled to be June 10th)
I have a few questions and would like this great forum to help me with them.
1 - Does early biometrics affect the processing time for AOS, EAD and AP at all?
2 - Based on the timeline I have provided above, when will I likely receive the joint card for EAD and AP please?
3 - When I filed for AOS, I submitted 1040s for 2009, 2010 and 2011 from my father-in-law, who is the co-sponsor. I heard I have to submit tax files for 2012 as well. Will this affect the processing time for my EAD please?
Thank you!

Thanks everyone for your advice so far =)
I received the hard copy of NOA2 today =) Very excited =)
I assume I wait about 7-10 days and call the NVC to get my case number correct?
After that is done I send everything to my fiance along with the financial information?
After the Chinese embassy receives the package I assume they will contact my fiance with instructions forward right?
Hi,
I just realized you are the US citizen.
I should really be consulting your Chinese fiancee on the next steps.
Do you mind passing her contact info to me?
It would be nice to have someone who has similar timeline as a visa journey friend.
Thank you.

Hi There,
Congratulations!
I am also a Chinese filer.
Our NOA2 will arrive in a week or so.
I would like to ask why we should call NVC to get the case numbers?
I'm told we don't have to do anything but wait for P3.
Help!

SO happy to read this!!!! :D :D
Hi there,
We mailed the application on April 30th and received NOA on May 7th.
Now USCIS site says they sent out NOA2 on Oct 30th.
I hope this helps.
