samy + janet aly got a reaction from happymember in revocable divorce in egypt
thanks i have those papers and his divorce was stamped and filed with the civil status department.
the problem with immigration is that when they see the "revocable" part and i have in writing per the NOIR they think that he can take back his ex at anytime they dont even look at the 90 day waiting period and understand that the divorce is only revocable before the 90 day wait period has ended. if it is not revoked and the 90 days wait period has passed them they are divorced.this is what they dont understand.his ex sent me a letter she wrote to immigration explaining why they divorced and she plans to marry by the end of the year to an old schoolmate she has been engaged to for sometime. my husband got from the civil status, ministry of interior a document for his history. shows when he married his ex and when they divorced and when him and i married. all is registered thru the courts and with the government.
all divorces in egypt are revocable except for the third one. i have a statement from his lawyer too explaining all and with which law on the books there refer to it.

samy + janet aly got a reaction from Darnell in Adjusting Status (from F-1 to resident, marriage-based)... Tips?
JUst be ready for the worse or the best. I will not sugar coat anything but even they can be cruel here as well as abroad.
Since he was here already on an F1 visa and then you got married, in their minds they will think he married you to stay in the country. Most times i had heard that if you marry on a different vis, there is a possibility they can send him back to have the right papers filed for a spouse or maybe not. ask your lawyer to be sure.
my husband and i were married at the ministry of justice in Cairo and we had some pictures of a small get together in Alexandria, like a wedding party but nothing big, we did not want that either. i had many pics for them to see, when he out the ring on my finger and such.
Good luck my friend and keep us posted!

    hello there...
Now the embassy sent someone to my husbands home 2 days after his first interview, an investigator that possed as a DHL rep on the phone when he called and my husbands sister answered the phone.
i called Dept of state and they said the embassy will do what they have to so to check on everything, basically making sure the man is not living with anyone...lol.

Just wait to get the hard copy letter about the RFE, it will have everything listed that USCIS will want as extra evidence ok.
no need to freak out. just means they need extra information.
i got one back in may 2011 and when i sent it in, our petition was approved 2 weeks later.
just send them what they want. they will give you some time to gather all extra info they want to see.
    good luck!

samy + janet aly got a reaction from Musashii in Qualified Joint Sponsor
my understanding of the AOS and joint sponsors is that it is a combined of petitioner and joint sponsor tax returns to show above the 125% poverty level.
co sponsor is someone who will make help to you if need be.
just like me, just in case i need a new AOS i have a co sponsor ready just in case because my tax return last yr only showed about $15,000.00 for the yr 2012 and i have some savings but my co sponsor if needed has over $30,000.00 for his tax return.
they want to make sure that if the person comes, there will be enough resources available for them to live off of instead of living off the government.
i hope this helps and others will correct if i am wrong.
i looked in USCSI website and i stil find only this.

    Congratulations!!!!
yes dont worry about the 129f ok.
i first filed the I130 then we they got that i filed the 129f because i am married. the I130 got approved first then the 129f followed but i could only do one which was the I130. they sent me a ltter to say the 129f even though approved it will no longer be available for us.
you normally would see which is approved first and then go with that one but the I130 always gets approved first.
but strange to know whne we got the NOIR, i also got a letter stating that the k3 visa we filed for was sent back to USCIS from DOS becasue it was never issued, that was over 2 yrs....lol..it had been sitting there and we didnt know it because we were told not avaliable...lol...crazziness!
Gowon, Congratulations! good luck with the rest of your journey. keep us posted!

did you print your cover sheet for the affidavite of support? once you pay your fee and they accept your payment they provide you with a cover sheet you have to have to send in the affidavite of support. the address is on that where you send it too and how to send it.
    good luck!
