Got an update today....interview July 31
congrats and good luck
Hi may filers,
I haven't got an interview letter or RFE but my online status for I765 is updated from review to Card/Document Production this morning.
I can't be happier since I filed I765 separately.
Eventho I filed G1145, I haven't got any updates on my status other than the initial accept txt/email.
I'll keep you guys updated when I get my EAD card in mail.
If you haven't got your EAD update, you are almost there. It's around the corner. =)
congrats!
in my case I got my EAd like 2 weeks before my interview didnt even use it only to obtain my social
and thats abt it
I filed my AOS on May 3rd and my online status is still showing Acceptance(I485) and Initial Review(I130).
I did my biometrics on May but my files haven't been touched yet.
Should I be worried?
no... this is the situation for many and it was like this for me for a few weeks but as time went the process seemed fast
i still cant believe my AOS journey is over and it felt like last week i applied

congrats to u

Question... how many days after the interview u guys got the welcome letter?
I got mine within a few days
Hey Everyone
I had an successful GC Interview held at Federal Plaza in New York City on 6/20/2012
The Interview itself it wasn't that pleasant at all. Immigration Office wasn't American Born , He Had a rough accent, difficult to understand , but after an 30 min of struggle he said "you are approved".
Anyway its been almost 6 days and no update on USCIS site at all , but hey who cares I'm legal alien now
Good look you all
good for u
congrats!
anyword on MikeX or Basee?

three months ago i was literally checking the mail EVERYDAY (dont even know why cuz everything is updated online first)
and maybe 20 times for the day i was checking the USCIS website....
i am so thankful this process is finally over
I got a ten year card so I would not be ROC-ing but I would be naturalizing
God is GREAT!!! :star:

Thank you!! I just read through the posts here and saw some of the people here got their SSC so quick. Wonder if it is because of the location??

from my personal experience - be calm be collected
if u seem nervous or tense the IO will feed off that energy
be prepared. take whatever u think is VALID proof
and most importantly be honest
these IO know real from fake (my IO had 20 years experience in the immigration field - small talk led to this discovery)
dont over worry - I tossed and turned the night before AND ALL FOR NOTHING lol
we were in and outta there in under 20 mins ( our interview was over in less than 5 mins)
good luck my friend

Hubby was separated when we started dating in 2009 and never cared to file divorce papers (until he decided to propose)
He finally proposed 11/2012 and surprised me he had finally filed for divorce, he officially divorced 12/2011 and we got married in 3/2012.
We have Lived together for over 3 yrs and have everything to prove it, will his recent divorce interfere in any way in our AOS application/interview?
What kind of questions will IO ask at interview?
from someone else's personal experience no it will not
he did the legal thing which was to get divorced first and then he got married to u
the IO will question PERHAPS a few things abt his marriage (these questions will be asked to him) but thats a big MAYBE
so all I can say to u is gather all ur evidence have it ready and be honest and open and also do not give out too much information at ur interview .... say only what needs to be said.
good luck to u hope this helps

hello guys,, this questions comes from a friend on mine... He is currently living in the united states, in fort lauderdale,, he is planning on getting married to a US citizen. He was born in honduras and went to the stated on a visitors visa when he was young, and stayed living there.. If he gets married, will he have to travel back to honduras to try to get his papers again?? or can he do all the process of getting a green card without living the united states?? will he face any punishment by the US? thanks
DO NOT LET HIM LEAVE THE USA
get married file the required forms
gather as much proof of evidence OF A REAL MARRIAGE ( these interview officers are well trained and can tell fake from real (obviously))
and most importantly have patience
PS the person who overstayed will not have a fine or penalty to pay (I know quite a few ppl in this circumstance and they did not pay a dime for overstaying when they got married to a citizen and later on got their Green Card thru their spouse)
good luck to ur friend

Really and truly .., it all depends on the immigration officer to give you 10 or 2 year card!!! It's their judgement ... I've heard and seen people before even a few my family members got lucky also.. Their marriage was less than 2 years and they got 10 years card
yes I agree on this...
she herself wasnt sure if we would have gotten the 10 yr she had to clarify with her supervisor
-
lets all be happy for one another
2 yr ten yr who cares right
point is each of our situations are uniquely different
so different outcomes will apply to each case
lets be happy and thankful everyone case is being approved
best of luck to the remaining interviewers :star: :star:

Were you married for two years?
yep - Chris - state law of texas once two people live together more than 6 months together its considered common law
we have been living together since 2007
mrsbonjovi - thru my husbands attorney
-
sorry Chris
maybe I should have been more clear
we have been together since 2007
my son is now 3 and a half
and we had sooo much proof ... i think the IO was so well synced with cases she could tell this was real.....
she hardly asked for anything (but when she did we showed her a life insurance policy in my name as beneficiary and 6 months of bank statements also the house deed is in my name as well as his and its been that way since 2009)
hope this clears up any misconceptions...
-
hi guys!
got confirmation via fax that i was indeed approved for 10 yr GC and not the 2yr conditional
also the IO did take my I94 not my EAD even tho I did offer it up
good luck to upcoming interviewers !
