Can we do it in DMV or should we go only personally to the Social Security Office and update the status as Citizen?

Sounds like the Social Security office! I had to go back there last week and it was just like that.

I guess Im curious to know if they do indeed give you tax transcripts at the time you go to their office. I didnt see anything online that says they do but it would be a waste of time and gas to drive all the way out there for them to tell me 5-10 days since I ordered them on Wednesday.

Yes they do. That is what I heard from some people. It is better to be early and get things done at the earliest

rather than waiting for the mail. Just try to go the IRS and request them telling them why you need the IRS transcript the same day.

My husbands interview was very short, it was the waiting time in the lobby that took everyone forever. The guy behind us said he waited for 1 1/2 hr and he still didnt get called til after my husband was finished with his. I suggest to anyone that maybe pays taxes each year after they file that they take receipts with them if they cant get all transcripts. It wasnt on the check list, but its better to have it than not have it. For some reason the system didnt let me get my copy of our 2011 tax transcript when I asked for it back in June, so we had 2009,2010 and then all the papers from 2011 that was filed with Jackson Hewitt.

If by Monday we havent gotten our tax transcript for 2011 that we ordered on the phone on Wednesday then we'll drive out to Houston to get it from our local office.

@PalmTreeGurl: I think it is better to drive to IRS office. Request them for Tax Transcript for 2011 saying that you need it for an important purpose (Naturalization Interview Requirement).

They may give you there itself. Just don't wait for the mail. Try to reach USCIS I.O and request for an info pass for an appointment so that

you can hand it over personally without any delay.

Got the RFE today and they just want the tax transcript for 2011.

Just send what they asked for & you'll get your oath letter in the next mail !!

You don't need to give any reason for the expedite service - you just pay the additional fee.

Not sure about passport applications at the oath ceremonies for Philly or Oakland - yet you can apply at many Post Offices, County Courthouses or Passport Agencies once you have your Naturalization Certificate. You can search for these locations here:

And what other originals/Copes of documents we need to submit along with the application?

What is the reason we are supposed to give for expedite service?

Do they accept any Passport applications after oath ceremony in Philadelphia, PA. Any such Help counters.\?

My uscis journey is finally over. Had both my interview and oath today. Interview lasted 10 min, quite the surprise. Had 102 folks from 31 countries in the ceremony. Will apply for my US passport first thing tomorrow morning.

Hi all!

Just came back from my interview and I'M APPROVED! And boy that was fast and easy. Six people( i think) for 7:30 appointment i was called in last but my husband told me that i was the first that came out! The officer was so nice. Ask me six questions and he only ask for my ID and Green Card.

Interview date is fast approaching and I'm just a wreck. Seeing the questions here and me answering to it gives a little bit of confidence eventhough its completely random. Feel free to post your interview questions. With how my work had been this month (working almost 16 hours per day and working every other weekends), I don't have any time at all to study.

My Naturalization Application Approved!!

The lady IO was very pleasant.

Swore me in and asked for my ID, green card and passport.

She gave me the civics test first. Followed by English test.

1) How many years do we elect a senator?

2) What does the cabinet do?

3) In case of president and vice presidents inability, who takes over?

4) How many justices are there in the supreme court?

5) What did the declaration of independence do?

6) Can't recall the sixth one.... If I remember I will update the post.

She made me read a sentence in English and write one sentence in English.

Ah OK. I think the people doing our oath wanted to have a bit of fun. They made us wave our flags while singing along.

In my Interview Letter they just asked me to get:

1. Interview Letter 2.Green Card,

3. Passport and/or any othe documents you used in conncetion with any entries into the United States----????

(Does that mean Travel Entry Documents)

4. Any evidence of Selctive Service Registration.

1. Marriage Certificate/Divorce Decree

2. Proof of death or divorce for wach prior marraige

5. Spouse's Naturalization Certificate.

So I have also One more question. Like are they asking for I-140 Original at the Time of the Interview??

Other two questions were: What ocean is on the east coast? And, When must all men register for the SService?

You don't need to wear a suit to the interview, you do need smart dress though. On my oath letter it clearly says no jeans, shorts or flip flops.

My interview went well yesterday, what are the chances of me being interviewed by a heavily pregnant woman?? She definitely made me feel less nervous about it all.

The interview was short and painless, took about 15 minutes in all. Sitting in the waiting room was far worse!

Here are the 6 questions I was asked:

• What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?
• What is the highest court in the United States?
• How many amendments does the Constitution have?
• Who makes federal laws?
• What is the name of the Vice President of the United States now?
• Why did the colonists fight the British?

For anyone that is wondering, the last question only needs one answer.

1. All the questions are from the booklet. Answers are in bold letters.

2. As long as it legible. I wrote mine in bold letters.

3. No. Just the simple answers. The paragraphs in the booklet are there to understand what you are studying.

P.S. To those studying for the test. Don't worry. They're pretty easy.

P.P.S. Study about the Constitution, July 4 1776, Declaration of Independence. Basics that you should know. That would usually come out.

Quick update...

On monday I received an e-mail stating that the Oath letter has been mailed. Hopefully is for this coming thursday July 26th. Almost there!

In the interview letter I received, they say you shouldn't arrive any earlier than 30' before the appt time. The interview itself usually takes about 20' or so, but the waiting time can be long depends on how busy the officers are that day.
