Your medical is Mon morning and I'm picking up my results Mon afternoon - looks like we'll just miss each other. Dr. Cheema is very nice. Best wishes to you! Your interview is just 4 days before mine too :)

About a week later. If you live in the middle of the USA chances are you may not get an interview but have to wait longer for your greencard. Depends on the state from what I can see!

  3. POE today and the first thing the guy in secondary says to us is, "K1 visa? I thought they didn't do those anymore. Are you sure you have a valid visa???" Yeah...it was a cringe worthy 45ish minutes let me tell you. More to come in my review this week!

Maybe he hasn't worked in a while or is thinking about K-3. You made it so that's good.

Oh yikes! Where did you POE again? My interview is this Friday morning at 10am. I ended up postponing my interview so that I wouldn't have to worry about activating my visa when I wasn't ready to activate.

I POEd at the Blaine/Pacific Highway crossing. Maybe it just depends which officer you end up getting but if I had to recommend a crossing based on my experience, I'd suggest Peace Arch instead. Maybe you'd get lucky and get someone else, and maybe not! Either way I got across so yay :)

  4. Hey nancycakes did you ever find out about AP? I'm in the process of applying for it now. Send me a message if you have any questions! Not that I have all the answers, haha :D

Hi VeeNDee! Sorry, I've been MIA. I only JUST applied for AP last month and am told it will take 3 months. :( I'm in the process of trying to get an InfoPass appt, but there aren't any times available really. Did you get AP?

  5. Congrats on your approval and POE! Just saw your updated timeline. So glad for you both :) Isn't it amazing to finally be together!?!?? Best wishes with the next step of your processing!

  6. Just checking up on you since it's been awhile and saw you got your NOA2! Grats!!!!

  7. How goes the medical clinic scheduling? Sounds like everything is pretty flexible! Just curious- how far in advance can you see available appointments? (aka is it possible to book something in October right now?).... also do you know how close your medical and visa interview have to be to each other? Can they be a few weeks apart?

  8. How did you figure out the date the consulate received your package? Did you just call them or did you get notified?

  9. Hey nancycakes welcome back to VJ! My medical was done on a Friday morning and they said I could get the results between 4-6pm on Monday. I think if you go on a weekday (Mon to Thurs) they will be available the day after though.

  10. Hey I just saw your interview is coming up soon - you managed to get one on a Saturday? Best of luck! I POE-ed today. Going to write my review in a bit - drowning in boxes here!

  11. Looks like they already sent your application off from NVC - ours is still lurking somewhere in NVC (I know they received it). We had planned for the wedding to be later so now I may need to postpone the interview so I can actually keep crossing in the meantime.

  12. We had originally thought we wouldn't get an NOA2 until late October (in projected guidelines) plus a month for mailing items, and a few weeks for medical/appt etc...so were planning on marrying in January. Things have drastically picked up but we may end up keeping the original wedding date. Yours left NVC in 4 days? Wow! I will call them this week to check on the date.

  13. Saw you mailed your i-129f just a few days after we did - I will be curious to see how things progress for our timelines!! All the best to you :)

  14. Hang in there lucy884! Can't believe how slow VSC is being right now. But you'll make it!

  15. Slow slow process for you but looks like you are in the final stretches finally!

  16. Just wanted to let you know something about getting into the consulate. We had our interview today in Vancouver - my fiance came with me but accidentally forgot his passport in the US and only had his enhanced driver's license (big oops) - anyway when we showed up there, they asked him if he had ID and he said yes but they never once asked to see it - so not only did he not need a passport...

  17. Not only did he not need a passport to attend the interview with me, they didn't even ask to see his enhanced driver's license. Either he looks super trustworthy (he does, although I may be biased) or they just forgot to check that, but I think you will be fine to attend :)

  18. Hey sk8rpatty, just a quick question... after you finished biometrics how did you find out the date of your AOS interview? Did they send another letter in the mail with a date? I feel silly asking but am not sure what to look for now and don't want to miss something.

  19. Hey there! Just saw your post in the AOS forum and wanted to say, hooray for Jan. 5! Same day as we are planning on - here's hoping it's not too cold that day! (Ha, it's winter... :P)

  20. We were notified of our AOS appointment with a letter with a notice date of March 19 for the appointment on April 23. Our biometrics was the week before, so we got the appointment letter about a week later.

  21. Thanks for the best wishes on the interview. Can't believe it's already next Friday! AGHHH! The nerves! Wishing you the best in this process as well. :)

  22. Don't worry about the flu shot issue - I got approved :)

  23. Good luck on your upcoming interview! I see your planning to head to near Seattle too!

  24. Just stopping by to say thanks for all the support during my car importation shenanigans. So you know, I now have beautiful Washington State license plates and insurance on my car! AND still no greencard. It's a lovely feeling that it turned out alright in the end!

  25. Thanks so much for the Vancouver K-1 Visa Guide! I will consulting it regularly and have already benefited a ton. :)
