  1. Hey all, is anyone aware of why the Sydney consulate is so delayed?? It seems like the majority of us that sent our packet 3's in December are still waiting for an interview date and those that have heard are getting February and even March interview dates. That's way beyond the 4-6 weeks I've seen for the majority of October and November filers. We have emailed them and we were given the same generic response we had gotten to another email which was you should receive packet 4 within 30 days...well we are at day 24 and are growing increasingly frustrated at no packet 4. Anyone heard what is going on there to slow them down so much??

I have no clue what's going on with them!!! It's absolutely insane. It took me over 6 emails to get a response and our packet 4 from them, but never received the email about waiting for a response for 30 days... I think I would of gone insane. I have you guys in my prayers I know how frustrating it is. They just replied to me with an email stating they received my request for an extension for our petition since it expires before our interview and I sent that email back on the 27th.

  2. I did see your timeline yesterday and was a bit depressed by it lol. I'm wondering if they have a short list for cancellations lol. It has been very frustrating getting to this point and still not knowing when things are going to happen.

I will be so glad when this part if the process is over. Waiting for AOS will at least be with our loved ones!!!

Yes so true!!! I hate the fact that our lives are in the hands of others. I'm so ready for this part of the process to be over!! Goodluck!! I'll be adding you if you don't mind :)

  3. Thanks everyone. We've already spoken to the school in california and they are happy with my eldest daughter jumping into 8th grade. I also have looked into STAR testing in California and have had the girls do that testing which is what had raised my concerns. They did the testing for the year levels they recently finished here and with math there were sections they'd never seen. I'm going to try and become a teacher over the next few weeks lol and help them catch up as much as possible. I'd really hoped to have them starting in the US in January but the embassy in Sydney seem to be dragging their feet with packet 4, it's been over 3 weeks and still no word on an interview date. But I'm assuming that we'll get a date in February, still have a vague hope for January, but that's probably wishful thinking lol

January not happening, My fiance got his interview date on December 26th (27th australia) I had sent in packet 3 on the 30th of November, and they had emailed us telling us we would most likely get an interview date in January since December was booked. Unfortunetley we didn't get an Interview date til February 5th and they apologized and were hoping to get him in for January but the 5th of February was the earliest they could book him.

  4. If you're entering the country around March or April, your kids will only have about a month or two of school and then Summer Break for two months.... As far as the appropriate grades to place your children all depends on the school them self, I'd advice you ask your fiance and have him call the schools and find out exactly what is needed to get them in the school... such as school transcripts and see exactly where they fall.... Sometimes they do it by age and date of when they are born so make sure he has thier DOB when he calls.

  5. Looking at the I-129F form. The only thing I'm tossing up over is whether or not declaring my trip after the form is submitted is needed. It might look a little fishy if suddenly I'm in the US, though the trip was planned six months ago. :)

Thanks! I was wondering if they were more "lenient" with some countries. Good to know. :)

So you're going to want to do it short amd sweet. They just want to know if you met within two years of the petition. So no need to include the extra trip details :) hope that helps!

  6. Man, I'm full of questions about the application. I just don't want to get anything wrong, y'know?

Anyway, this is our mock declaration on how we met as per Q. 18 here:

I mentioned this in a previous post, but we do plan on filing it before I actually get out to America, hence why we thought it wise to mention my travels to the US after the petition is filed. (We just want it done ASAP for personal family health reasons; ticking time bomb). Would we also have to include a list of what we attach to prove our relationship on the bottom of said declaration? We have photos, boarding passes, engagement ring receipt, Skype logs, emails.

I'm very much welcome to any feedback or advice. :)

Which form are you looking at? You might be giving way more info then needed.

  7. The SYD number is your case number with the consulate (SYD=Sydney).

The receipt number would have started with EAC or WAC. It would have been on any emails/text messages from USCIS, as well as your NOA1 and NOA2.

I just saw your dates. Which receipt number are you looking for? The original petition or are you talking about AOS or ROC? If so then the prefix will be different. However the SYD number is for the visa application only.

Just like Lainie B said, it's you're case number that was assigned to you after you're receipt number.

  8. I'm sorry if I'm not posting this in the right area and is meant from Australia members

    Hi Guys!!

I just wanted to know if there are many people with January Interview dates yet??? I'm really worried because our petition expires on February 2, and we are barely going to be submitting our packet 3.

I'd like ideas of where we might stand with chances of a January Interview date.

So please if you have your interview date in January please let me know!!! even if you have a February date please post which I hope there isn't at this time!!

  9. Hi all,

We are waiting for our NOA2 and CSC our estimated timeline when our petition will be adjudicated on just got moved back from mid November to mid Dec. Does anyone know if CSC is slowing down or if they are perhaps experiencing problems etc??

Just trying to get an idea as to why it has moved back so far.

    Thanks everyone!

    David

    .

So.... That's a question that will probably not be answered. When we filed our petition back in April VSC was moving quite along and quickly changed while the CSC started speeding thru their petition approvals.. VSC was still processing January while CSC flew threw february into march. CSC was processing applications at practically 60-90 days while the VSC was processing apps at about 170-180 days.

From other VJ members views it just tends to go back and forth. VSC will speed up and the CSC will slow down and vice versa. I wish you a speedy approval, good luck!

  10. Thanks guys. I have my packet 3 forms and docs ready to go. If NOA2 comes before I leave but I haven't heard from Sydney can I sign and date the forms and leave them ready for my mum to post while I'm away? I'm not sure how close to filing the forms need be dated.

Once you submit your packet 3, they will send you a packet 4 including your Interview details, I've seen the interview can be within a few days or a few weeks.... I'm not sure if submitting packet 3 then going over there would be a good idea.

  11. Hey Guys,

I wanted to get a clear response regarding doing the medical in Sydney. Once you have completed the medical with Dr. Waks, can you pick up the results right afterwards... or will it be mailed to the consulate? How long does it take to get the medical results back? and can copies of the results be requested?
