  1. i have been having the same issue over the past few weeks. It is better when my fiance goes to an internet cafe than on sun or smart broadband. I read over the weekend on an expat forum about and american guy who put up a antenna and repeater in his house and his signal went from 1 bar to 5 bar and major improvement on his interent. He said it was around 2000 peso to purchase and install, but did not give details. Good Luck

  2. As others have said sorry to hear about your situation. I remember my friend who was from Thailand telling me, that when she came to america via the K1 129F, after 5 days she had no choice but to leave him and return to Thailand. Reason being, he was not the same person she met online or in person, she felt he was a drunk and only wanted a maid. I am not saying that this is the case in the situation above, but I am sure she has her version as why she left so quickly.

  3. While I have only been waiting for a few months, I am struggling with lack of progress at the VSC on K1 129f visas. I know that she will not make it here for the birth of our child, and due to the babys due date being 1/4/13. I am wondering if it would make sense to go marry her now, come back and refile to help expedite on the back end as well as with my child. I am struggling with this one

  4. This isn't new, and I tried looking around but didn't really find a a particular topic to match mine.

So, I was recently engaged, and plan to go the spousal visa route for me and my fiance. I currently live with my fiance in his home country of Japan(been working here for 9months now, lived together for 6 months, and plan to leave by the end of November). After reading about how there seems to be an unspoken expedited service for petitioning the CR-1 visa when an expat lives overseas in America's case, We decided to get married by the middle or end of the month and have my I-130 out by then too. In your opinion, is that to soon to file for the petition?

I also don't plan to change my last name, I'll save all that paperwork change and stuff when I get back to the states..will that also raise some eyebrows?

I mean, yes we love each other...and we've been in a Long Distance Relationship for 5 years, but I wonder if they would think its a sham marriage...

We also don't plan to have a real official ceremony till 1 year later hopefully

I'm just nervous because we're hoping everything goes right and that he'd be able to join me in the states by late December or January.

Should I wait a lil bit after we're married before we file for the CR-1 visa?

Not sure the name thing is going to be a big deal, my ex brother in law, married somone from Osaka, she kept her japanese name, she has her greencard and no issues getting it or the visa. In there case they filed within a week of marrige. As long as you meet and can prove the requirements, there should be no issue. Japan is not considered a high risk country, so do not create stress worrying.

  5. I dont know where I should post ...but a few moments ago I posted a story and my opinion on why an immigration attorney can help...IT WAS MY OPINION..PEOPLE STARTED ATTACKING ME AS IF I SAID SOMETHING OFFENSIVE.. I posted thinking it would help others..but Ive noticed that lately when when I give wanted advice or help ive been critisized harshly for just that...now my topics are locked because someone thinks it was spam or that I work for this attorney..you people need to get a life..take a look at my profile and timelime and you can see I am one of you..MY FIANCEE AND I FILED AN I129f in May!!! I am not a spammer!!!! Thank you! Good night and God Bless!

Take away what people have already told you, yes there are members on this board that are flat out harsh and negative. Its part of Americans being Americas

  6. I mentioned on Monday that I saw on the USCIS website an RFE. I thought it would be for the blue background on me and my fiancee passport pictures. It wasn't that.

It was for page 3 of I-129 application part C. I didn't answer the questions about if I was involved in domestic violence and other types of crimes. There were 3 questions. I answered no to all 3 of them and sent it off today. I recieved the hard copy in the mail yesterday evening. One page was instruction and the other was the page to respond. Both pages were blue in color. I made copies for myself.

I used tracking from postal service to see when they recieve it. It says it will take a minimum of 2 weeks for them to respond to the RFE when they receive it.

So all in all it was a really simple RFE.

congrats, i hope the rest of your process goes smooth.....

  7. My thoughts are, we will all go crazy if we look at processing times. When it comes down to it, I believe it really comes down to what country the person is from, how many like names there are during a back ground check. If you think about it, they do background checks on every application, if you have someone from America with the name Tom Smith, think how many Tom Smiths there are, now take a 3rd world country like Mexico and search for someone with the last name Martinez and with the lack of technology in this country, it is going to take time to narrow the search down. Just my 2 cents. I am happy that there are one 3 people in the US with my name, I hope I am just as lucky with my Fiance.

  8. Um, no offense, but why one earth would you say something as ignorant as 'all people from the Philippines get approved easily and fast'.

Clearly you have NO idea what you are talking about. They get approved no faster than most other countries. And there are plenty of stories on here of people being denied from the Philippines.

You appear to be from Brazil, so what makes you think you know anything about the Philippines.

And you're telling him he won't have any problems even though he has basically NO evidence of having spent time together.

Sigh. Why even bother posting if you have no clue what you're posting about.

  9. Having been married to a Ukrainian and my brother is still married to a Russian, I can state based on experience and observation that Ukranian and Russian women are extremely materialistic. This 21 y.o. gal had a chance to be married to a wealthy man who could have been a great provider is far more important to her than the age difference. She would have never came here if it was not for that.

Woman from eastern europe love very high end designer clothes, shoes and jewelry and they love to travel.

Unfortunately for my x-wife, my income was in the low 6 figures which did not afford her the opportunity to fly first class when we traveled. I told her that thats not going to happen while married to me.

P.S. I met my x-wife here in Boston and she was already a citizen. What I failed to see is just how shallow of a person she was until after we were married. It was within hours of our marriage that I began to see her true colors. After serveral years, I told her I had enough and wanted a divorce.

They say that there are two times in marriage that you are truly happy. The day you get married and the day you get divorced. In this marriage, it was true.

As far as age difference goes, my Filippino wife is 25 years younger than me. She is a sweet heart with not a mean bone in her and she truly loves me. She could have done much better than me but she is very happy with me and for the first time in my life, I am happy and in love with the woman I married to. I will admit though she has taken over my Lexus from me. She tells me that the Lexus is her car now. The good thing is it is now 5 years old and she will be happy with it for many years to come allowing me to buy a new one for myself if I desire.

You got it Boston!!!! My fiancé is the sweetest person I have ever met, all she wants is a family and to live a simple life, in fact she could careless if she comes to America or not....

  10. You guys are starting become Dr. Phil, there are 2 sides to the story, and you are only her side, as with many of these stories I'm sure fault is on both parts. I am sure the biggest issue is communication. Not even sure how this one even made it through the immigration question, when you getting married? I can tell everyone on this board, my fiancé and will be getting married within 3 days of arrival to the US, I'm not holding anything over her head. We all have to sign the I intent to marry letter...

  11. Just so everyone is aware, while your stuff ends up in a box, the processors are working off an electronic image, which is why you file with a paperwork reduction notice. That is why everything gets sent to a lockbox in Texas, it's all about automation. I managed a lockbox at one point, and when I got my package back due to the wrong check amount I noticed the scanner tracking numbers on each page. That is also probably why they want you to send things back with the green sheet so it gets back in the proper que.

  12. I guess im just going to have to wait it out sinse my lawyer is on vacation until june 15th. But can amyome suggest until what date should i wait for any action?

Be very careful my friend, My friend in Boston used a lawyer and it started just like you are saying, no details or lack of info. $5000 later, the lawyer was gone and my friend had nothing but an empty wallet.

  13. I know its way to early for me to be worried in this long process, but I sent out our I-129F on May 21st and still have not received an email/txt notification about an NOA1. The package was confirmed received at the Dallas Lockbox on May 23rd via USPS. I've noticed others who sent our I-129F on May 23rd and have already received an email and/or txt.

I created an account on the USCIS website, but its asking for a receipt number, which obviously I don't yet have.

The holiday will delay things for sure, many people were off friday and tuesday. My check was cashed the same day I got the text and email. Best of luck you will be fine
