Yes, it does very much! Thank you both!

Thank you very much!
Just to be sure, "overstaying" means staying more than 6 months?
In case a problem arises and they say he overstayed 3 months (because of his ticket), will the 6-month stamp be enough proof that he didn't overstay?
-
My fiance and I are waiting forour NOA2 currently.
My fiance, the beneficiary is in USA visiting me, he bought a ticket for 3 months and entered the USA using his tourist visa.
When he was entering the USA, they stamped his passport saying he is allowed 6 months (even though his ticket is for 3)
Our NOA2 hasn't arrived so we want him to stay for longer.
Would it be ok if we postponed his flight another 1-2 months, until we receieve NOA2?
Is it legal?
Thank you very much!

I am just wondering, is it possible to get married by law in the first two weeks after arriving to the USA on a K1 visa? Is this looked down on for any reason or will it cause any problems? The ceremony would be later but we would like to get married and apply for AOS as soon as possible.

Just want to share our experience. Today my fiance flew in from Uruguay to Miami International Airport, and he got in, thank God!!! I was so worried because he got there at 5:30AM and he doesn't have a cell phone or a way of contacting me, so I was waiting at the airport from 5:30 till 8:00AM...I really thought he was going to be sent back, but in the last second I saw him walking out and I got so happy!
His interview went like this:
Officer: Is this your first time in USA?
Fiance: No, I came once before in January 2011 and I stayed 3 months.
Officer: Is there anyone else with you?
Fiance: No, just me
Officer: During your past visits did someone come with you?
Fiance: Yes my parents and sister
Officer: What are your reasons for this visit?
Fiance: To visit my girlfriend and her family.
Officer: When are you leaving?
Fiance: 11th of November
Officer: What do you do for a living?
Fiance: I just finished my studies and right now I'm not doing anything
Officer: What does your GF do for a living?
Fiance: She's a second-year pre-medicine student at [name of my university]
Officer: Have you ever been sent to the interview room before?
Fiance: No, I haven't
Officer: You have the most common name I've ever seen.
Fiance: Yes, I've been told
Officer: Have a nice day, please follow this lady to the room.
[he was sent to the interview room]
Now he was sent to a room with many people where he had to wait forever, and there were many girls crying and asking to speak to their husbands/BFs/family/etc. Also many Brazilians who didn't speak English.
When he was finally called, a lady interviewed him.
She asked him many of the same questions as the first guy, and also asked him if he's engaged. He said yes and told her he is doing the k1 visa process and he showed her his NOA1 and he also showed her a copy of my driver's license which has my address on it and my name and picture. She asked him how much money he's bringing and he answered. She also asked him if he's planning on studying in the USA and he said "Once my K1 application gets accepted I will marry and then apply for AOS and then once I recieve my residency Iwill study here" [i think it was a good and honest answer]. He says there were many more questions but thats all he can remember. It was an extensive interview, but I'm so happy he got in!
Good luck to anyone trying to get in!

So the affidavit of support is not taken seriously? I'm a full-time student with no income and my dad was going to be a co-sponser...will that be a problem?
-
Also it is not the back taxes that proves the income, but your current situation. I-864 requires most recent year tax return. You would also will need to add your Pay Stubs etc.... to prove your current income.
How would that work for someone who is self-employed? (my dad owns a small handyman company)
Thank you for the link, LeftCoastLady!
-
and also, how many years o tax return need to prove this amount of income?
Thank you!

Thank you, I found the list on my country's US embassy site. But I am wondering, is it ok to have vaccines done before seeing the doctor?
-
Does anyone know where I can get a list of the required vaccines/shots needed for the i-129F medical exam?
Is it possible/recommended to start getting the vaccines before the actual medical so that he doesn't need to get them all in the same day? I've read that it's possible, but I can't find a list of which vaccines are needed
-
We had the same question...I wonder if it would be wrong to say "Because I-129F required that we marry in USA"? It's the truth!
-
Thanks everyone for the replies!
Also include receipts such as hotels, bank atm withdrawals and of course your passport will be stamped. Take pictures of both of you together in different settings and clothing and with family and friends.
I am staying with my fiance in his parents house so there is no hotel receipt, is there any way to show this? Also, we are going to Argentina for 2 weeks with his parents and they are renting a cabin in their name...since its in their name will this be usable at all?

Hi everyone,
I am visiting my fiance in 1 week (I, the USC, am flying to Uruguay), and I am wondering how I can properly document my trip to show enough proof at the interview. I am staying for 3 months, so what is a good proof of our time spent together? Are photos enough, and if so, how many?
Do disposable cameras time stamp pictures?
I am looking for all and any tips or advice, thanks everyone!!!

Mine also cost $10.45! I think you're right cause I had the same situation. I sent mine in a priority mail packet instead of a manilla envelope.
-
I haven't seen anyone else from uruguay on here

Couples transfer money all the time. Some even use it as evidence of a "bona-fide" relationship. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Edit- I thought only old people lived in Naples.
I really hope that's true! I normally see that the petitioner sending money to the beneficiary is used as evidence...but since in this case my beneficiary sent me money, I really hope they don't use it as an excuse to say he is paying me off
And yes there are lots of old people here! It's very calm I love it ^.^

I have been very worried lately because my fiance (the beneficiary) had some money saved up which he sent to me so I can buy our wedding rings. He sent me $1000 to buy some matching heart wedding rings that we had been wanting for forever. I don't work so I couldn't pay for them, so he sent me money a few days before I sent the package (we wanted to include the receipt in our petition).
Will they be able to see that he sent me a money transfer through Western Union? and will they think he paid me to file the petition? I really hope not

So 5 months is just as USCIS? Then how long is the average until the visa is received?

My dad and I have a recurring discussion about this topic and I want to understand once and for all, so if anyone could share an answer I would appreciate it
I read in many places that K1 visa is the fastest and safest route out there for someone wanting to bring their foreign fiance to the US. (Which is why I chose it)
My dad continues to insist that petitioning for K1 visa is stupid and a waste of time because my fiance already has a tourist visa. He says fiance visas are mostly for people who don't have any visa (no other way of coming to US). So he thinks it would be faster for him to come to the US with his tourist visa, and marry me after 2 months, then get the residency. He says that everyone he knows has done it this way and that it has worked out for all of them.
My reply to him is "What about after marriage? with fiance visa he can stay, but with tourist visa he has to leave the US" But my dad replies saying that he can keep renewing his tourist visa for 6 months until he gets his residency. (Is this even true?)
I am not very knowledgeable about this topic so I'm not sure how to answer him...so what do you guys say?
(I already sent in my K1 petition so this is mainly a question just for curiosity's sake!)
EDIT: Sorry about the topic...I'm not sure if "K3" was the correct term, what I meant was "just coming to US and marrying as a tourist"...as I said i'm not very knowledgeable!

Hi!
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links so I wont, but I used something called "SkypeLogView" its one of the first links if you type it in google from cnet or something.
It works great since I wanted the calls without the IMs (although there is an option to include the IMs) and you need to be totally logged off from skype to use it. My only complaint is that if you use your skype account to talk to other people they will also show up on the calls history...I don't know how to delete them, but if you happen to use the program and find a way, let me know!!
*also, I just wanted to add- this is for the free calls, I don't know if it works for paid skype calls

My reply for NOA1 came about a week after delivery. It will come
Thank you! Glad to know nothing is wrong.
I'm just so impatient, I regret not sending it express mail!!
-
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I sent in my I-129F package a few days ago. I got a tracking number and it says that it was delivered April 11, 2012 at 9:20AM, however I have not received any email or text. I hear about people tracking the status of their petition, but where exactly do people do this? Do I need to wait for my NOA1 to do that? And if so, how long does it take to receive the online NOA1 notification?
*Yes, I did file the G-1145 with my package
-
That is horrible...and you had so much proof! It's so sad that real relationships get denied like this
Definitely write a letter explaining your situation and if that doesn't work get married. Stay strong, OP! You will find a way to be together in the end and overcome these obstacles together!
-
Its not really about supporting him - its about proving that he will not become public charge when he gets to the USA. Basically if he trys to apply for any means tested benefits eg: welfare, some medical, food stamps etc your father will have to pay back everything.
Ahh, ok, thanks! Do you know if financial aid for university counts as government help? Because schools are so expensive, we were hoping to be able to get financial aid for him.
K1 visa and I-693 form
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
Hello, I was wondering if I need to file the form I-693 for the medical examination ( I'm following this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos )
and there it says that if you are a k1 visa holder, you do not need to have another medical examination as long as you're filling within 1 year of your overseas medical examination.
I didn't take any shots, the doctor said I had them all, that means I don't need the transcript from the I-693 I believe, correct me if I'm wrong.
I do not know if I need to fill anything at all from the I-693, so I need some guiding, I'm a bit lost over this form, Thank you very much
