2. I tried to get a list of everything needed for the NVC stage. This is what I found in the guides.

    Pre-Interview Forms / Items:

(Completed) 1. Completed and signed OF-169. (Check List)

(Completed) 2. Completed and signed Of-230 Part 1 and 2 forms. (I think is supposed to be the DS-230)

(Waiting for Employment Letter) 3. I-864 Affidavit of Support Form along with past 3 year U.S tax returns (or transcripts) and any other financial documents required.

(Completed) 4. A copy of intending immigrants biographic page of passport(s) including expiration date.

(Completed) 5. Original or certified "long" birth certificate.

(N/A) 6. Original adoption decree. (if applicable)

(Completed) 7. Marriage certificate. (if applicable)

    (N/A) 8. Divorce decree(s) or death certificate(s) (if applicable)

    (Completed) 9. Police certificate(s)

    (N/A) 10. Court and prison records.(if applicable)

(N/A) 11. Custody records. (if applicable)

(N/A) 12. Military records (if applicable) on packet.

Maybe others will find it helpful, too.

Make sure not to sign PART 2 of the DS230, that needs to be done at the embassy.

I filed a 184ez sent the tax transcripts (3years), and 6 months of paystubs for the AOS, didnt send employment letter. Make sure that the title/job role from the 325a matches on the 184 word for word, heard some people got RFE for that.

  3. "On December 3, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you ..... "

    USCIS

decided to do something about it!! :)

  6. Do these threads work? I notice no one really updates the table which is what would help the most to predict appt generation.

I am expecting (god willing) my case to be closed around 12/13, so I tried looking for Dec. interview dates given for people who completed cases in second week of Nov.

But looking at the table in the last page of the thread it seems no one got interviews for Dec.:blush:

  7. Just checked the status link on the DOS (https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/) site used mainly for payment of AOS and IV bills. When I click on it, the following is displayed:

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATECONSULAR ELECTRONIC APPLICATION CENTERThe Visa Application Status site is temporarily unavailable. It is scheduled to be re-opened by the end of November. Please try it later.

Has Any one actually seen this working? It already is late Nov. so this should be up soon, I guess we will see how it goes.

Just noticed it changed to the following:

The Visa Application Status is temporarily unavailable. It should be re-opened in December.

  8. That's a good advice, Cesar & Cata thank you!! it seems that NVC process speed is up to us, if we get delayed with the documents and payments they need, the process is gonna be delayed in consequence.

Yup, getting the police reports and stuff as well as the DS230 signed part 1 would take time if it comes from abroad, (I brought it with me when I made a trip down there). IRS tax transcripts also take a few weeks to arrive, if you are planning on submitting tax return copies you will also need to include the forms used to file them (i.e. W-2). I recommend getting the tax transcripts, they are from the IRS directly.

    Good Luck.

  9. I've considered this. Not sure if it would be worth it. We're so close! lol.

Yea, but htink about July and Aug filers, with teh way VSC has been working it could take 3-4 additional months.

You can only assume pressure has been relieved for VSC (administratively) since now they (Dept. of Homeland Security) can show progress on Aug, Sep and Oct filers, while leaving the May, June, July and some Aug to suffer as collateral damage.

  10. My case already went through VSC (thank god), how ever I wonder, what if I would have submitted my petition the first week of August or late July, right before they started getting sending them to NBC and approving in 1-2 months.

Would it be worth the additional $420 to resubmit and thus have it sent to NBC and approved in 1-2 months? If VSC keeps going backwards, it looks like some of these petitioners will be waiting well over 2-3 months for a NOA2.

    Is resubmitting even an option?

    Thoughts?

  11. Hi everybody who is reading this post. I would really appreciate an estimate in time period to calm my nerves. I sent my ds-230 to NVC on Saturday December 1,2012. I sent the package express mail. The mail man told me that the package would arrive today, Monday Dec. 3rd. I just would like to know on average how long does NVC take to complete a case and send it to the embassy if everything goes well. And when and by whom is the interview date given. Is it by the NVC when they complete the case. Or is it by the embassy when they receive it... Thanks so much.

I am sure you heard as I did that they need 20 business days to review any documents sent, I have seen here that it takes around 10 business days for them to complete once the DS230 is sent. Once the case is complete NVC schedules the interview, but that depends on the specific embassy, the best you can do is check the timelines and search for your country and see case closed and interview to get a better idea.

I have read a lot and its still not clear to me how the interview scheduling is done, some threads say that the NVC schedules the first two weeks of a month for the following month. But I recently saw someone get a Jan date at the end of Nov, so dont really know what to think.

    Good Luck.

  12.
Hi i have been trying to follow colombia time lines and was wondering from the date the case closes at nvc when should i recieve an email from nvc about are appointment.I called nvc and they said they can not give a time frame becuse it depends on embasy.Any help thank you

I was trying to do the same the other day and noticed many people showed no date for an interview, even though it was clearly in their timeline.

You may have to do a search on the timeline but then look at each, one by one. Unfortunatly there haven't been many IR visas for Colombians lately, at least not enough to get a good estimate, it looks like you and I will be the guide for a few that are close behind.

  13. Dear all

My husband has applied for my visa under IR1/CR1 in mid April. It has been 7.5 months and we have not heard back. I live in Pakistan and he in NY so he applied to the Vermont Service Center. I also have a valid US visit visa. We also applied for an expedition on humanitarian grounds but it got rejected. We have also given a handsome amount to an immigration lawyer but she has not told us what we should be doing now. I even got information about the expedition etc. on this forum. Does anyone has any idea if we have any other options to get the process done quickly?

    Many thanks

Why haven't you made use of your tourist visa at least to be here a few months while you wait?

I know if my wife had one we would have at least tried, even if they did turn her back at the POE.
