I caleed yesterday and they said they were going to hwve a supervisor review it due to the fact hat 30 business days has passed.how log does it take fkr them to treview it?
The only experience I have with having something supervisor reviewed was with my choice of agent, and that was done from one day to the next.

Hey cesar my affidavit and ds230 got accoeted but i got a checklist on september rwlling ne to submit the new form ds260,i did it the 13 of september and until today i still have not gotten a case complete,today is the 30business day idk what to do
DS260, isnt that electronic filing for Immigrant visa? Are you sure this is what they asked of you?
Can someone add to this if they have knowledge that Colombia is now doing E-file? I did this for my mother in law just a month back and I only sent the affidavit (new version) and the DS230 and had no problem (just RFE for affidavit, wrong income, easy fix).

I think I've learned something from you.
Your saying that you have learned to apply for the slowest makes me think you have watched and thought about this for some time. So i would ask is the curent slow down of CR1-RI1,s typical. I mean to say the USCIS posted a target of 5 months but the notices now going out, of 12-16 months, is 2-3 times longer. Is this still in the Norm of what you might see or is it different now.
Also is it common for USCIS to ship the files to other offices?
Lastly how fast are the recoverys for the most part, does USCIS start processing at 3 time the rate when doing a correction?
Yes, this swing I would consider normal at this point. I have seen VSC approving in 3 months, while CSC was taking 10 months. Then about 5 months later, it was inverted, where CSC was approving in 3 months and VSC was taking 10 months. I wonder if we should start having historical trends year to year, that may give some sense of period consistancy that may be predictable.
What I saw last year was horrible and unfair (I was in the middle of it and got incredibly lucky, check my timeline/signature). They (VSC) did start offloading, but instead of sending the old (jan-june 2012) petitions to the new service center, which was NBC, they sent the new ones from Aug 15th and forward. So the people that submitted their petition in AUG-OCT were incredibly lucky, since they went in to a new service center, most of these people were approved well before the people still stuck at VSC. My mother in law sent her petition in Dec 2012 and got NOA2 in June 2013, already showing they were backing up.
Today I read about NBC offloading to other service centers in the link i shared in my previous post. I actually have a friend with priority date in early Aug, I asked him yesterday to call and find out where his petition is since its not clear from the post which petitions are being moved. The only think I notice is that looking at the timelines, CSC and VSC have approvals for June and July, so that may be a good sign for people from those months.

that is the problem, we dont know if she is a citizen or if she was working after they divorce, so if we count her in the i864, that mean we have to count 3 persons and not just 2 (him n me), so the proverty guidelines need be more high for 3 persons?

The answer to your question is yes, the amount of income needed to be a sponsor will be higher, its not that much more, but it is more for 3 than 2. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

~ 20k/year for 2 people.

With this current backlog, having any hope and staying strong seem like an impossibility.
So you think taking the slower route is better because they'll clear the backlog? I ask because it doesn't appear at all that they're trying to clear this backlog and are just giving preference to the DACA and Provisional Waivers. It's terrible.
I know how you feel, when I was waiting for NOA2 for my CR1 the uncertainty was horrible, still bothers me today.
What I said is really from my experience when VSC was backlogged from all the apps from Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr/May 2012. The solution USCIS came up with in July 2012 was to begin taking the apps starting in Aug. to the NBC, and those people from Aug. were getting approvals in Oct (just 2 months later), If you read all the threads from Jan-May 2012 you will see the agony they went through while they saw apps that were sent many months later being approved before their own.
Now if you look at Igor's list it looks like something similar is happening, NBC is being offloaded to the other service centers (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=c8b3f5f081cc1410VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=e7801c2c9be44210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD) which are starting to approve for Jun/Jul 2013, while there are people from earlier in the year still waiting.
I am stumped, I have a friend who is asking me this same question (cr1 or k1) and I really dont know what to answer, hopefully the coming weeks will give a better idea of the trend for the next few months. All I know is that right now its in flux, once these offloading of petitions start it is really dificult to estimate when the NOA2 will come.

Just want to use this thread since it came pretty high in the colombia consulate search results to post the number combination to reach an actual person since it was almost impossible when I was having issues with the CSC web site: 703-439-2325 -> Select Language -> 2 -> 5 -> 3.

Also, to be a little more technical, once the person is applying for the Visa in Colombia, she/he actually becomes the "Applicant".

What did I start.
However I have been looking at these (cr1 & k1) for a couple of years now and I have to agree with this (quoted), except that I dont think USCIS cares much about NVC backlog, I think it is driven by their own (USCIA) backlog.
Several times I have seen that it is best to apply in the route that is the slowest currently (if you have a choice)... I explain, I have noticed that when things get to its worst USCIS has a way of diverting/off loading, when that happens usually the people that sent the apps latest begin to get serviced quicker, kinda what happend last year wher people from Aug and Sep got approved in 2 months for CR1 (@NBC) while people waiting on VSC from Jan, Feb and Mar. had to wait till late Dec and early 2013.
The best you can do is continue to read peoples timelines, Igor's list, and any rumors or news from USCIS. Send your application and hope for the best.
I now have my wife by my side after endruring all the stress and frustration that this process generates. Ultimatly pinning USC vs. LPR and Married vs. Engaged, the base issue is always the same, the system sucks, if its not well funded, then charge more, hire more adjudicators. But having peoples life on pause for what is currently an unknown amount of time is just not the way to go. Even today almost a year later I still feel the frustration. Stay strong people.
I said it right.. exactly.. I'm not sure how to make it any simpler.
1) Both the I-129f and I-130 initially go to USCIS, they are handled exactly the same: Same location, same people, same work done on the forms... EXACTLY..
2) They may be prioritized differently based on many variables.. One example is the NVC.. The I-130 will create more immediate work for the NVC after NOA2 than the I-129f so if the NVC is backed up then the USCIS may prioritize I-129fs over I-130s to help reduce backlog for the NVC by reducing the incoming work temporarily... At some point they will then reverse this to catch up on the I-130s that are now behind and the I-129s may sit.
3) Saying "The I-129f will reach NOA2 faster than the I-130 " is true sometimes, is false others.
4) You are thinking that the time for people getting NOA2s today for I-129f/I-130 will be the same for people filing today. Not true... Its as valid as predicting tomorrows lottery because you know yesterdays numbers..
Knowing this can you with a good conscious tell somebody to file the K-1 because it will reach NOA2 faster? Pick a random time in the last five years and you are a lair 50% of the time...

The USCIS portion of the K1/CR1 is the same.. The additional time for the CR-1 is the USCIS-> NVC stage which normally adds about six weeks (The paperwork gets done at this stage for the CR-1 whereas the K-1 does this step after the person arrives in the states) . CR-1 is less expensive overall and does not have that additional round of paperwork after you get married or the requirement to get married 90 days after entering the country.
K-1 advantage: You will get them here six to eight weeks sooner.
CR-1 advantage: Less cost, no time constraints when they arrive, no extra round of paperwork when they arrive. CR-1s get approved at a higher rate (though for Colombia this is not really relevant), they get the GC, SSN, and the ability to work soon after they arrive.
You would have to add back in the time it actually takes to get married as you can't file the CR-1 until you are married. The K-1 could be filed today today.. One advantage there getting married in Colombia will likely be cheaper and allow his/her family to attend.
If you are already married the K-1 is no longer an option.
One disadvantage for the CR-1 in Colombia: Getting married as a foreigner there is a bit of a hassle compared to the states...

Hello VJ, I have question please and need your help. I'm a green card holder and i filed F2A for my wife and she is in Afghanistan. My case got completed from NVC last week. I just want to know that how long NVC will take to schedule interview. Your reply on this regard will be appreciated. Thanks! God bless.
Look at the spreadsheet that is published before your comment, try to find the date that your case was closed and see if anyone else has been scheduled, if you look back you can also begin to form a pattern. Rule of thumb is that if your case closes the first two weeks of the month you will be scheduled for the following month, else you will most likely be scheduled the following month, for early the month after that.
You should add yourself to the list as it helps to do this type of estimation.

I still see some people waiting 2 and 3 weeks for their 3032 to be accepted. Looks like its not only me who fails when reading Post #1 and #2.

Crazy how long everything is taking. It took like a week for the AOS bill to be generated then like 4 days for it to show as paid. Glad my friends 3032 was accepted in a couple of days. If not I would think he would have had to wait about 3 weeks before the IV bill.
We are just going along, slower than what I was used to with my run through NVC, but still doing good time.
We are planning on sending the old version of the AOS today. Hope it gets accepted without any issues.

I called NVC to see what's going on and the operator said it doesn't even show pending in their system but I also checked my bank account to see if it was deducted out of my account and it does since this Tuesday! So should I just send my AOS packet?
That is how I did it. You figure by the time it gets there and they are ready to input it into the system it will show PAID.

Hey Guys,
Have a question for the USC going through the NVC steps for his wife and step-daughter. I have been helping him complete these steps, yesterday we signed on the payment portal and paid the AOS bill for his wife, in related cases we in fact saw that his step-daughters case was considered a related case. IV bill has not been invoiced, guessing its because the DS3032 hasnt been accepted.
I went in today to print the barcode page for each of them, but I just noticed that when I use the case number and invoice number for his step-daughter I get his wife's barcode sheet, is this normal?
Should I send each AOS package with his wife's barcode sheet, I also printed the page that said the cases were tied and I am planning on including that as well.

As Saylin mentioned, I waited until I saw the payment PENDING on my online bank statement to send the each AOS and IV packs.
Although once I would get back home from the Post Office the status had changed to PAID.

You re spot on with your second suggestion: fill 2 AOSs, 1 with wife as principal applicant, 1 with stepdaughter as principal applicant and mention other family members in 3.2.
We did that, all 3 cases we linked in the payment portal and we had to pay just the one AOS fee.
However the DS230 fee needs to be paid for each of the applicants.

Fill out one AOS with Principal Applicant (Wife) and family member (stepchild), and submit a copy of that AOS with stepdaughters barcode sheet?
or
Fill out two AOS, one with wife as Principal Applicant and another AOS with step daughter as Principal Applicant? Also, if this is the option, should each AOS mention the other family member in section 3.2 of the new version of the document.

We were told to do an AOS for for each of us and yes we re named on each other's AOS.
I d rather provide too much paperwork than not enough!
When I did my wife's stuff I also would send and resend important documents, I am just wondering if paying dual and even triple fees could be avoided. Someone mentioned that "linking" the cases at NVC would allow for a single AOS to work for both (spouse and stepchild).
I do need to state, Carlos is a relative of mine, that is why my interest. Either way I will try to update with what he decides to do.

Most cases I have see of I130's for people filing abroad are always on a fast track, cant really be used to compare against local Aug filers, sadly.
