  1. I just got a email from USCIS my Oath Ceremony have been scheduled. Thanks for those who replied to my concern and special thanks to Kash2011 for updating my timeline throughout the process. I AM SOOOOOOOO EXCITEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!! I cried in my car after the Interview when I saw passed test but couldn't make a decision. :) Happy ceremony everyone!!!

Congrats . I am really happy for you.

  2. So I called them first thing this morning and he said that I'm "in line for the oath". I guess I jumped the gun. But he did say that it will be in August. Didn't let me speak with a tier 2 person, do you think that would have made a difference?

Does your status show inline for oath or oath notice mailed ?

If it's the second , then tier 2 would have access to see the exact date and location of the oath.

If your still inline for oath, then you need to wait until it change to oath ceremony notice was mailed ...

  3. have a question

my second interview timing is at 7:30 am on a Monday ( Aug 31 )

isn't 7:30 am too early for any office to open

i wonder if there is a mistake in their timings

    ???

I don't think they will actually interview you at that time , but you will be among the first people to do the interview. You never know , they may swear you in same day. Just be preapred. Keep in mind they have 120 days to adjudicate the case, and that's starting from the first interview. In addition, if they asked you to sign a statement and you were not sure about the consequences of the that affidavit , you have the right to consult with attorney before signing anything.

  4. Why doesn't the service center in Texas that we sent the N-400 to post processing times for the N-400?

I am not sure why you sent your application to Texas service center, the applications should be sent to the lockbox facilities !

N400 is processed partially at the NBC then at the field office. Only military applicants send their applications to Nebraska service center.

The current processing time for Manchester, NH field office shows as 5 months which means the field office is not backlogged.

  5. I went to another infopass appointment to follow-up on my case as I was asked to follow-up by end of July. This time the experience was not that great as last time. First I had to wait for 2 hours before I could see anyone. The guy I saw was really rude and did not want to provide any information in detail. The only thing he mentioned that the case is still within processing time. I said the processing time mentioned for LA field office is 5 months on USCIS website. Is it wrong? He said probably, I do not know and I can not do anything. I decided not to argue with that guy as there was no use.

After I came back home, I called USCIS customer service and the lady was kind enough to tell me that the processing time for LA field office is 6-8 months and not 5 months which is mentioned on the website. At least now I know when to expect approximately or reach out to the USCIS for follow-up.

On the field office processing time web page, it says Field office processing dates for Los Angeles as of May 31, 2015 but the posted date is July 17. Can anyone tell how often the processing dates gets updated for the field offices (not the posting dates)?

  6. You got a lot of good advice. I will tell you a story of one of my friends. He is married to a USC, and his Immigrant visa was on the last stages at the NVC. He applied for a visit visa and he was denied right away. His wife was due to deliver their first baby in a month, and that's the reason for him to travel to the US. What he did, he wrote a letter to explain his intention, he mentioned on his letter that he has no interest to live in the states, and his wife is the one who filed the petition without his interest to move to US. and all what he cares about is to be next to his wife while having the first baby. He papered everything and applied again. The CO believed his story and he was granted the visa. IF you go ask any lawyer, they will tell it's impossible to get a visit visa while you have an immigration visa on the final stages.

Lesson to learn, it's not about what documents you have or how much money you make in your country , it's all about if the CO believed your story or not. my advice, Let your husband apply again, and be honest about your intentions and try to support that with documents if they asked for any.

  7. so yesterday i had my interview which went well i passed the test , they took my signature on my two pics and a paper which had my details but there was a missing document ( birth certificate ) i sent it yesterday itself it reached there this afternoon

    ?????

    another interview ?

In a very small occasions they call for a second interview , but to be sure , call them tomorrow and try to get more information. Keep in mind, their online system is not very reliable

  8. I have my interview next Friday (the day after tomorrow) and I thought I had everything I needed, but when reviewing my documents, I realized that I am missing a very old passport.

I have my current one, and the previous one, but I am missing a very old one (it was issued when I was 11 years old, I am 49 now).... What can I do? What happens if you can't find all your old passports?

Don't worry about that. I don't think they have an interest on your very old passport. Good luck

  9. Received Oath notice. Ceremony scheduled on 07/30. Not at field office but in a school. Looks like the the notice is mailed by field office as I received it in 1 business day, unlike other notices which used to take like a week.

Congrats! Is yours at school too in Vienna?

Congrats! Is yours at school too in Vienna?

I didn't got the notice yet. I got the information from tier 2 agent, I called them yesterday. And yes it's in a high school in Vienna

  10. Great to see most of my fellow april-filers making progress and finishing up the journey with interviews and oath ceremonies! Congrats to everyone! :joy:

I'll have to hang in there and wait for some more month, as my field office is extremely slow and I don't expect to hear anything before October or November :clock: . Keep posting your experiences, it's really helpful for the rest of us!

Best of luck Zara. Hang on there, I know Seattle office is pretty slow now, but the good thing is they do same day oath.
