It is just so surreal to me, I mean how can one be so careless? There is no way in hell I would throw away everything I worked so hard for with my husband. Especially since I'm adjusting from a K1 visa... all the waiting, money, tears, effort for nothing? Even if I didn't know anything about AP, I would at least have common sense and use google to figure things out before making such a big move.

I'm shocked to see stuff like this. You could have applied for emergency AP at your local USCIS office (assuming it was an emergency). No, there is no way for you to get back for your interview. Your AOS is abandoned and denied. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You have to start all over from scratch. That means applying for a spousal (IR-1/CR-1) visa, 12 or more months of being apart and filing out tons of paperwork.

Cheaper on the front end yes, but less costly doing CR1 once you get to AOS stage for K1.
In the year 2015, the total filing fees for the K-1 process are $340 for Form I-129F (filed with USCIS), $265 for the K visa (paid to the consulate), and $1,070 for Form I-485 and the adjustment of status packet (filed with USCIS), including the biometrics fee. That brings the total government U.S. fee to $1,675.
For the immigrant visa process in 2015, filing fees are $340 to USCIS for Form I-130, and $325 to the consulate for the visa. AOS fees are $120 and if you have CR-2 as well, then one fee covers all If everything is approved, you will also have to pay an Immigrant Fee to USCIS ($165 in 2015). That makes the total government cost $950.

I completely agree with your statement. To me, such a response by the beneficiary is plain ludicrous.

Threatening to leave the relationship because the visa process is not going fast enough has nothing to do with passing MY bar, it is plain bizarre !
