  1. Morning Marchies!

I agree... Read the screen and it will tell you. No one should apply without reading the entire process. Islandgal is right, NoA2 is just one step along the way.

The only people who (I think) should post on the main forum are people like Nick&Elizabeth or Andie, who have survived an incredibly long wait.

    I agree.... and Res4688

I see no problem with posting in the main forum after the interview and approval, since that's the goal.

  2. I just sent in a congressional inquiry to Senator Barbara Boxers office today, Im really hoping that I get a better turnout over the local congressman that did the first one. I called today to get an update because the 45 business days has passed and no one was in the office to assist me. Seems like they are not very concerned about peoples inquiries.

I truly hope this brings some action.

  3. Almost everyone left :) I don't feel like discussing anything concerning the wedding... As it became so intimate now haha help me choose my major in the US :D Cause I am thinking, thinking and not sure what I really wanna do :/ My major here was English, planned to be a Spanish and English translator in the future... but English in the US? haha... right... I though about computer science..

Depends on what you want to do later

  4. Honestly, Im very very happy for you. After reading your post I started to.have anxiety about my new petition. However, I strongly believe you shouldnt include wester union receipts. You have to understand how some IO's look at that. Personally being a Jamaican and knowing the mentality of some of my Jamaican people, there are cases in which some people are with foreigners for money purposes. The IOs are supposed to be protecting the US from entry of those kind of people. Its almost like they are stating they know your situation better than you. Yes Jamaica's economical state is horrible and yes this is 2012 n men arent all breadwinners anymore. But, this rule doesnt apply to immigration. Just think of the people who really are being tricked. Being that you got a call back, I take it that maybe the IO that interviewed your fiance was new and inexperienced. Ive never heard of a person having to wait another year before filing a new K1 petition. Maybe a travel visa but not a K1. Not unless your fiance had ganjah in his system or a serious charge, etc.. And to advise you to get married was ridiculous.

 Agreed on the WU receipts. It's 2012 yes, but it may be misconstrued by the CO.

  5. I want share my good news with all of you that after 232 days, I just received a text message from USCIS that my petition has been approved. I can not believe it and has just finished telling my fiancee the good news. I was seriously expecting and RFE or a rejection after all this time but I guess some petitions are just used as door stoppers until you file a service request. Thank God and thank you all for your support and encouragement on this difficult journey and I prey that all of you that are waiting will receive good news soon. :D

    Yeah!! Congratulations!

  6. Ok, preparing my forms to send to him for our interview. . as for the check stubs how many should I send. Should they be the originals or copies? Also, is it advisable to send copies of my bank statements showing that I withdrew monies while on the island? I would prefer not too, but if suggested I will redact my account number. Once I have everything together I will submit a list of what I have. Thank you, peeps . . . your input is invaluable.

I plan on including letter from the bank and employer... I think bank statements are only if you're using cash assets to prove your ability to support. Since my salary is enough, I won't have detailed bank statements. Just the letter from the bank as shown on the I134 instructions. Copies of the paycheck stubs should be fine (from what I've read around here). The number varies as to how many. I plan on sending the immediate 2 months worth right before my interview (whenever that is).

  7. I am jumping the gun here a little bit because my fiancees interview is not until next thursday... I have a question about shipping her things vs travelling with them..... My fiancee has a lot of expensive hand bags, shoes, and clothes due to working in the fashion industry.... I am wondering if she will be charged any extra fees for shipping those things to the US... Same thing goes for the items we plan to bring in our luggage to minimize shipping costs. Does the K-1 visa allow her to wave these taxes or???

    Thanks

K1 doesn't grant any kind waiver for excess baggage charges or shipping. Airlines and cargo companies are separate entities from the US Government. She'll just have to pay the excess fees on her flight and/or pay for shipping via cargo.

  8. Admittedly my nerves are shredded after waiting so long for approval, so bear with me:

I logged onto the USCIS website case status tracker on October 8th to discover notice saying that my Petition had been approved and that they had mailed a notice that it had been approved on October 5th. It is now October 21st and I have yet to receive notice. My attorney has yet to receive notice. I know that it supposedly can take up to 30 days to receive it, but how normal is it to take this long?

Maybe I'm taking the USCIS a bit literally when assuming that when they say they mailed it on October 5 they actually sent it then, but as I said, my nerves are frayed and I don't want something to go wrong so advanced in the process.

    Thanks!

I'm in Texas and got approval Oct 11, received hard copy 3 dàys later. Call Uscis and request a duplicate of your noa2.
