I've called and only get the automated recordings when checking on the status of my application, which end up telling me to refer to the .gov website for average processing times. Is there a different option to get to an actual human?
Your timeline shows your petition is at CSC. I think they are pretty much faster than VSC in this season. You will get your NOA2 sooner. It could come any day now. Good luck!

I found the old thread somewhere here on VJ (Chat with director): why calling them doesn't help.
OK, why can't we get through to you? The 1-800 line is useless. Those are contract employees and they are trained to select answers from a menu of 14 answers. They pick which one is best for your question. There are thousands of visas being processed at any time and everyone is special and everyone has special circumstances and if we had direct lines we weould do nothing but field requests by petitioners to give them priority, we just can't do it. How would you feel if your petition got bumped because some woman called and cried on the phone and then her petition got moved up ahead of yours. We simply have to operate in a way that avoids any chance of fraud, corruption or unfairness

I am hoping some of us will get approval from VSC soon in August.
-
It means they have approved your K1 visa petition and you need to wait until your service center send your case to NVC, then NVC will assign a case numbers before they forward your approved petition to the embassy where your fiance lives. Your NOA1 is april, it is amazing that CSC has reached to work on april's now.

Hello Chan, I am sorry to hear about your refusal. I'm not an expert to help answer your question. But first, if you don't mind me asking, how did you become a US citizen? by birth, through parents or by married to a US citizen before? and back to your fiancee, in which type of visa she used to apply before? Sounds like she was petitioned before by her uncle. If she was involved with material misrepresentation, This is serious problem.
couple of reasons for K1 visa denial:
The CO can deny K1 visa due to serious medical condition (beneficiary has communicable desease that is a thread to the public)
The CO can deny K-1 visa due to lack of termination of prior marriages on the part of either the beneficiary or the petitioner.
The CO reserves the right to deny your K-1 visa. If you or your fiancee made a false statement or an omission on any U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) form with the intent to receive a K-1 visa benefit.
Note:
Section 212(a)(6)© of INA strictly forbids fraud and misrepresentation for the purposes of obtaining an immigration benefit. In fact, violating this provision could cause U.S. embassies worldwide to bar your foreign future spouse from ever entering the United States without a waiver.
So your problem could be misrepresentation on your fiancee's part (past visa) as you stated on your post. It's not about you should add skype/FB video chat or phone call records to the email and photos that you already have.

Hi everyone,
I have been trying to stay off of VJ for a while because I was approaching my 5 month mark, which is today actually, but still no approval
Any tips how to proceed after 5 months?
Example: if your priority date is Feb 10, then until it reach August 11, that is 6 months. So before August 11 your petition is still in normal processing time.

There is nothing you can do, but wait till it hits 6 months. They consider 5 months + 31 days (the end of July is 31) as within normal processing time. If you want to call them before 6 months, you will more likely be told to wait.

Congrats!!!!
We are still waiting. Next you need to wait until your service center (Either Vermont or California) send your approved petition to NVC, then wait for NVC to assign case numbers and after that forward your petition to consulate where your fiance lives. Good luck!
-
If you don't mind me asking, what evidence they're really asking for? Some evidence can take a bit longer for them to review before they approve your petition.
-
Many complain about CSC takes so long to get to NVC after petition approved, then adds more days till they get their assigned case numbers before forwarding case to embassy while VSC is much faster at NVC stage. Anyone noticed that?
-
4 to 6 months on average.
-
Only CSC no VSC. Congrats to those who got approved. God bless to the rest of us who are still waiting.
-
Are you the petitioner or beneficiary?
You can just hand-write it on the form they sent you. Good luck!
-
@KristenG....Congrats on your approval!!!! and thanks for the update.

Nothing we can do, but wait, wait, wait......................

For me, I'm not going to check until at least 5 months. Approved at the first step does not surprise me, but I'm looking into the last step when the visa is approved because it means we're going to be with our loved ones for the rest of our lives after we are done with our visa journey.
-
we are only sharing our experiences, it helps to lessen the stress of waiting, i hope you understand that too. it is not a big deal
but i know people who can relate is happy to read this thread.
You are right, people who can relate will definitely read this thread.

From what I understand is your fiance yearly income need to be consistent and above the poverty guideline as due the requirement.
-
Well, from what listed on USCIS website for both service centers is 5 months as their goal to process the K1 visa petition. So sometimes people get NOA2 less than 5 months or 5 months plus. No one can give you the exact or certain date that your case will be adjudicated, so forget about which center is slower or faster...as long as they will work on your file.
-
Where is the true and reliable source they get the fact that one service center is slower or faster than the other?
-
No. They are about the same speed. The thing is no one from VSC comes here to update and tell us their NOA2. I can not rely on VJ to tell me everything, because it just show a tiny part of the whole number of petitions sent in. NOA2 takes 4-6 months on average. For those they get it less than 4 months, how lucky they are.

Within 150 days. Soon!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone been approved by Vermont??
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures

I am prepared to wait for 7 months if VSC take that long to approve our petition or send us RFE.
