... I think someone sucked all the fresh air out of this place its hard to get a deep breath... or maybe it was just a big wind that took my breath away.
Oh ya, OP... you are good to go with those forms as THEY ARE IT!
thank you very much! have a nice day
-
The expiration date on the form is the date set by the Office of Management and Budget, or OMB. The OMB has a responsibility to help prepare the president's annual budget, and they have a responsibility to collect information from other executive branch agencies to help in this task. In order to help them in this data collection role they review and approve the forms used by executive branch agencies, issue control numbers for those forms, and set an expiration date which indicates when the form will again be subject to review. An expiration of the OMB control number does NOT automatically make the form invalid. Only the agency using the form can make that determination.
USCIS has not issued an updated version of the I-129F. It's distinctly possible that they won't, and OMB will simply reaffirm the existing form. In any case, USCIS will continue to accept the current form unless and until they issue a new form and publicly state that previous editions of the form will no longer be accepted.
In other words, if you've got the current form that's on the USCIS website, OR the website says that previous editions of the form will be accepted, then you don't have to worry about it.
By the way, get your feet off the tray tables. Didn't your parents teach you any manners?
thank you very much for you reply..and yes, our parents taught us manners...we are on a plane on that picture and we are enjoying ourselves meeting after 6 years, cant we get a break? geez...
-
There is not a more current version available (I just double checked on the USCIS website), so that edition IS the most current and can continue to be used. Not a worry
thank you! im just worried becoz its expiring on the 29th and we are passing our package close to its expiry date.

hello peeps! Good day...me and my girlfriend (the petitioner) are planning to pass our K1 package this week (February 20-25) but we saw that the I-129F form is expiring on the 29th...but all our documents are dated February 10th (becoz we really compiled the package on February 10th when she was staying here in the Philippines).
would we get an RFE if we send our package this week and the adjudicator opens our package sometime after February? will it be ok if we just send our package before the 29th? (highly possible our package be touched at march because ive read that the package is opened after 2 weeks)
and if we can't produce a check right away...is there any way we can pay for the $340 fee of the petition? thank you very much.
-
oh, geez...hope california service center wont take too long...sorry, we are just excited....thank you guys.
-
Gary and Alla Answered you above. No, it won't affect your interview/petition. So, get a tattoo if your heart desires.
oh, thank you!
-
my girlfriend (the petitioner) is living in california....but can we send our petition to vermont service center since i heard the process is faster there? or our petition will go straight to cali service center? thank you guys.
-
No.
It will probably look like ####### when you are 50 so if that is what you mean by a hindrance, then yes.
hahaha...im ready for that when im 50
but will it affect my interview/medical exam for our petition? thanks
-
hi guys! im planning to get a tattoo this month...and we will just start passing our petition this coming week...will my tattoo be a red flag in the future in relation to my interview/medical exam??? thank you very much.

well... remember.. its just because it works for someone here does not make it USCIS protocol or procedures.. the instructions said use black, i used black.. we need to becareful and should always promote USCIS requirements and direction and not what may have worked one time..
kind of reminds of of Eddie Murphy Coming to America.. CLAY vs ALI.. and what his momma called him.. lol
hahaha. i know that eddie murphy film LOL...funny stuff...yeah, i think i just need to cross my fingers. thanks a lot.

2. i thought about highlighting. but i read it somewhere that no highlighting *it was not advised*.. in case copies needed to me made.. it would not copy well..
i know that from first hand experience.. so i had to convince my better half not to.. *i chose not to* but i did use a black pen to circle a few things
4. Step number 1 of the instructions clearly states TYPE OR PRINT IN BLACK INK
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf
will this come back to haunt you.. i don't know.. it will be up to the person reviewing your form and what kind of mood they are in.. it really comes down to that..
ps.. read the directions for the next step more carefully..
good luck.. this form is simple yet very stressful..
2. we highlighted the names, dates (on boarding passes, itineraries etc.) and duration of calls and dates (on skype)...hope it would turn out well, i guess we just have to pass it because my girlfriend is working as a military and she wont have much time editing stuffs all by herself.
5. from what ive read here, blue pen is more dependable on signatures....all other handwritten stuffs, we used black pen....
-
becks.. its all we had.. the only thing "original" was I-129F and the 2 G-325's.. like i said, maybe we should have done 3 sets.. all we did was PRINT the forms out after filled out on PDF.. so getting the signatures not big deal..
ooh and the passport pics she also took the spare set we made.... ooh.. and the letters of intent, and what ever else i signed.. i think there was one more
i guess i will find out in a few months
then goodluck to both of our petition
Godbless and have a nice day.

That all looks great and very thorough, and as the other person stated be sure to make copies (we made two) of packet one. We just got approved today and it's taken 8 months in total. I am a U.K citizen (beneficiary) moving to U.S.A. I think the highlighting and blacking out is fine (I would initial and date those changes - blacked out areas, so that it is obvious you have made them and not someone else), apart from that it looks like you are ahead of the game. Obviously if either of you have been married or divorced you will also have to include that paperwork. I can't think of anything else, but if I do I will get back on here.
Good luck!
thank you! and congratulations to both of you...always stay happy and in-love with each other
-
Don't forget the proof of US citizenship. She can use her Naturalization Certificate or her US passport (all pages). I am assuming she has never been married
before. But, if she was, do not forget to include a certified true copy of her final divorce decree. Everything else looks good. Good luck to both of you!
yes. we attached the photocopy of all the pages of her US passport at the back of her G-325A form. we both haven't been married before and looking forward growing old together
thanks a bunch!
-
Hello, you've done it very well in my opinion:) We highlighted for instance relevant stamps on the copies of our passports and names & dates on the flight tickets.
And how long it's gonna take - hard question - I got a call from the embassy after approximately 4 months - that I can make an appointment for an interview. Good luck!
thank you so much!!! now i feel more confident in our petition
-
@ skiptex...so photocopying it good enough too? and what does the NOA1 looked like?
-
cool!!! thank you so much...i wont ever get FEDEX services again...its like they treat your deliveries like trash.
-
we do have copies of everything...she just haven't been able to bring it to US (we complied the petition here in the Philippines) because we have no time to compile another one...so basically if it got lost i have to mail her another copy of the signed ones. you have been a big help especially the advise on the delivery confirmation and tracking...thank you very much.
PS: which delivery company should we trust the most in handling our petition?
-
is it really necessary to make 2 copies of your K1 petition? for what purpose?...wont the immigration send the original petition to the beneficiary's country if they will make an interview? im sorry to ask these simple stuffs, we're just starting on our K1 process.
the reason i'm asking this is becoz my girlfriend needs to fly back too early (she's the US citizen) that's why we only got time to create a single petition. ( i mean, she stayed here for a month but we enjoyed hanging out everyday we only got time to focus on the petition for 4 days...also collecting the receipts and other stuffs really will take your time)
or is it OK if we just scan/xerox all the original petition before sending it out?
thank you so much.
-
Yeah, if you're providing other sources of conversations and chats, then with regards to the Skype conversations, you can note you included them for the express purpose of showing the length of calls, whereas you've included chats from other sources that are not as private.
We all have those very private types of chats/personal conversations. Your package looks good, but what do I know, I've been awake all night...I see double now. I'm sure others will chime in soon to give you more feedback.
thank you so much bro. have a nice one.
-
The highlights should be no problem. Romantic conversations = good, intimate conversations = embarrassed.
Yes, I know what you mean, I sure do know.
LOL...then can we just note it that we purposely blacked out our skype conversations because the thing we want them to see is just the duration of our calls? ( i mean they will see a damn lot of our romantic/casual conversations in facebook and yahoomail messages...)
also, another question,...we havent included any phone calls in our evidence is it fine?...because my fiancé in US just uses a special app in her phone to call me in the Philippines, and i'm just using iCall to call her too....both dont record dates on it...thank you so much for the reply.
-
1. it should
2. What stuff did you highlight?
3. Send conversations that are not intimate in nature, you know, the casual type. Therefore, no need to black-out, or line-out any of it. Personally, I would not line-out or black-out the conversation.
4. To sign in blue is ok.
5. Why the need for notes?
6. No one can answer that with certainty, however, USCIS has a goal of 5 months...which they regularly exceed.
2. we highlighted dates and duration of calls (in skype)
3. yep. we send some casual conversations and some romantic ones...but our conversations in skype are always personal matters, if you know what i mean...

Good day to all of you guys!
My girlfriend is a U.S. citizen (naturalized) and me had been engaged last June 2011...so we decided to use the K-1 process to be married officially. since she can't come home in the Philippines permamnently, (she's a member of US air force) i had to adjust and i need to live in the USA to be with her.
Let me tell you our story, we had been in a relationship 6 years ago here in the Philippines when we were still college students, now she gone to the USA after her father's petition had been approved and she went on to work in the military...we had been separated and had our own lives the past 6 years...last may 2011, by chance we talked again in facebook and from there we both confessed that we still love one another (we are always happy back then)
so there, we met last January 2012 and she will be passing our K1 petition in few days (she just got back in US yesterday) and we are more in-love with each other after we met again personally, we had fun and we're very comfortable around each other.
i just want your opinions on our packet if we ever missed some things:
i'll list the packet in order.
PART 1
1. cover letter
2. form G-1145
3. form I-129F
4. explanation of meeting in 2 years (single page attachment)
5. proof of meeting in 2 years * her boarding passes and itinerary (her flight had been canceled so we included the canceled boarding passes too)
* our receipts of flight reservation, itinerary/tickets and boarding passes going to our vacation.
* photos of us inside the plane
* our hotel/resort tickets, food order receipts
* photos of our stay in the resort
* other activities places we visited receipts
* photos on the said places we visited.
6. form G-325A for me and my soon-to-be-wife and our 2x2 passport photos.
PART 2
7. letters of intent to marry from both of us.
8. me and my fiance's ring reciepts (we bought each other a ring even though we're just engaged--- its the same rings we will use on our wedding day <3)
9. the reciept of FEDEX i got after i sent a christmas package to her and photos of my gift to her and a copy of my handwritten letter for her (with translation)
10. the story of our relationship from the first time we met and until we came to this decision of getting married and living together and our future plans.
11. proof of ongoing relationship * facebook messages (with translation) about 20 pages.
* yahoomail messages (with translation) about 7 pages.
* skype call logs (we blacked out the conversations and just highlighted the dates and durations of the call)
QUESTIONS:
1. will our packet pass on the standards of USCIS (or adjudicators)?
2. is it fine to highlight stuffs using a marker?
3. is it ok to black out (as in drawing a black line to hide it) our conversations and just note that its a personal conversation?
4. we used blue pen for our signatures, is it ok?
5. we wrote notes (explanations) on all of the pages of our petition (except for the forms and cover letters)...will it help?
6. also, how long is it gonna take to get your petition approved?
just a survey for all VJ'ers
