  1. :dance::dance::dance: We're APPROVED!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

My fiance had his interview today at the Vancouver Consulate and I was with him. The interveiw itself lasted only 10 minutes but the total time at the consulate was 2.5 hours. Lots of waiting but it was all very easy.

We were complimented on the organization of our package and documents, thanks to all the help we received here. Thanks Visa Journey!!

There was another guy there for his K-1 and he had used an attorney. He paid a lot of money, waited a lot longer and was missing documents from his package. He was approved, given he mailed the docs to the consulate. More waiting for him. I'm so glad we found this site and used the guides here.

Now to move on to POE and wedding planning!!

    CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK!

  2. My fiance and I have our interview scheduled for December 11th, however I have to return to the US by December 17th as I have to give a final exam to my college students (I teach 2 courses part time). I can't afford to fly back down again to accompany him back to the US. We have talked about this extensively and he says he is more than OK with flying by himself, but I don't know how that works at the POE then. Can I meet him there? What can I do to prepare him for POE. Any tips would be great!

this information helped me. as i mentioned, our interview is also on Dec 11th and i had to book our return flight for Dec 18th. i plan to call DOMEX at 809 616 6633 a couple days after our interview. once they tell me her visa is there, we will go pick it up instead of waiting for delivery.

my fiance and i have also have our interview in santo domingo on december 11th. i had to book the return flight on december 18th. that was all the time i could get off work here. i sure hope that will give us time to get her visa approved and picked up or delivered.

good luck. maybe we'll see you there at the embassy?

  4. hey my husband just went and he payed $350 cause he was missing his shots however if you had all ur shots within 6 months all u have to pay is $180.

our interview date is Dec 11th.do you know what shots are required for the medical exam and why is it necessary to have had them within 6 months? i had thought you just needed to show proof of vaccinations in the past no matter how long ago they were.

i would appreciate any information. thanks, jim

So so so happy to this today when I checked in on my case status. OMG,OMG my heart is pounding finally, finally we are moving on to the next chapter in our journey to be husband and wife. Though what I wonder is how is it that I never saw a decision it went straight from initial review to Post FDecision activity? anyway don't care they said that On October 3, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice,etc....

    Happy,Happy,Happy.

    Wendy

Congratulations and continued good luck with the rest of the journey!

  6. Thanks Jam... me too, it was a long 8 months. Hopefully the rest of the process can go along without any major bumps in the road. I hope the worst waiting is behind us now! Funny, I have gone back to Uscis site a couple of times to check and make sure again it says approved and I haven't been dreaming the last 2 days.

Congrats to you and Stephannye! :D:dance:

Hey Texas22, just got my hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail today. after waiting 8 months, i'm ready to frame a copy and put it up on the wall. i've been doing the same thing as you...went back to the USCIS site half a dozen times to re-read the notice of approval just to make sure..haha

still a lot of work to do, but this was a huge step! good luck to you and everyone else out there.

  7. what a joy to hear my fiance, stephannye's voice last night when i told her... my application was approved! texas22, congratulations, too. i've been pulling for you all along.

what seemed to be a pipe dream has now become a reality. anyone with any insight towards what to do next, i would greatly appreciate your advice.

once again, thank you everyone here for all your support and well wishes. with the stinking VSC now in the rearview, this have become fun again. and i can honestly say, "at least i'm enjoying the ride"...sorry bobby w. haha

    good luck everyone!

  8. i have yet to tell my fiance stephannye in the dominican republic, but this morning i read on the USCIS site that my I-129F fiance visa application has been approved by the vermont servicing center! january 24th-september 25th...the dates between my NOA1 and NOA2. just over 8 full months. so i waited, now i'm elated! haha

i cannot wait to tell her the good news when i call this evening. i guess now the wheels really start turning.

thank you here for all your support and good luck to everyone still waiting.

  9. Thanks for the well wishes guys!....Just home and we are APPROVED!!!!!!!!!kicking.gifgood.gif, visa should be in hands in 6 days. I will write a full review later but it was very simple in the end for us, arrive, wait, money, wait, forms, wait, interview 2hrs 30mins in total. No extra evidence asked for regarding relationship (we had a whole forest worth of stuff), questions simple directed to all 3 of us. me Tommy and Chana, will give all details later. Only 3 k1 applicants there no other visa applicants.

Congratulations and best of luck in the future!!!

  10. Jim,

Did they happen to say what date they are processing? I'm 2/7 and have to wait until after that date. As of Friday, they were saying 2/6 so I'm chompin' at the bit for them to update it so it will be past my date!

    Thanks!

no, they did not give me a date that they were 'working on', but they did say that my NOA1 date of jan 24th was beyond the normal processing time, so i could submit the service request.

good luck to all of us here.

  11. phone number is 800 375 5283 and the keystrokes are 121113.

ok, thank you 'verypositive". i just called and got through to a live person using your button progression. i formally submitted a service request to the VSC. i was told i would be notified within 15 days as to the result of this request...whatever that means. i guess i'll find out.

who knows if this will have any effect on the application process, but at least i feel like i've done something about it, albeit a simple phone call.

    thanks again, jim

  12. hi, i'm Jim from pennsylvania. my fiance is Stephannye in the dominican republic. my NOA1 from the VSC is dated jan 24th 2012. it was last 'touched' on feb 9th. no RFE and i have not heard anything at all since i got my NOA1. waiting over 7 months now and like a lot of you here, i am getting very frustrated.

i have called the 800 375 5283 number. i get an endless menu of buttons to press along with the usual recordings.

does anyone know what number to call along with what progression of buttons to push in order to submit a service request?

i don't know if submitting a service request will help, but it seems that it might. at least i will be doing something besides sitting here waiting.

thanks for all your help, encouragement, and advice. good luck to everyone here!

  13. You need to call them and put in a service request. They say they are currently working on Feb 6th..

    Good Luck!

appreciate the advice, texas22. who do i call? i called the 800 service number 3 weeks ago and got the "working on applications received jan 16th" response.

don't know where a lot of you find the updated information. i try, but i'm not getting anywhere. just waiting.

    thanks again, jim

  14. Welcome to the thread BWW and Jam. Sorry you guys are still waiting. That's a tough one. It was so frustrating getting the same stupid answers and very little help. In the end it just came down to them acknowledging that I was past processing time, but they couldn't do anything about it. I just had to wait. I hated that. Hang in there guys. We are a very supportive thread so its okay to vent your frustration here. Take care and I hope you guys get approval soon!

thanks for the encouragment. this waiting sure is frustrating. almost wish i'd get and RFE just to know that the VSC didn't lose or throw out my application. good luck to everyone out there and congratulations to those who have been apporved!

  15. I would just like to add that this website and its members have been phenomenal in providing support and information on the K-1 process. Many thanks to all of you! We've been gathering packet 3 information and my fiancee has scoped out the Seoul embassy for wait times, etc. So I think we are well prepared for the next stage. Now if we could only get there!

hi, B+WW. i'm Jim from pennsylvania. my fiance, Stephannye is in the dominican republic. wanted to let you know we are in the same time frame are you and still waiting. my NOA1 was jan 24th. last "touched" on feb 9th. i called and was told the same 'working on jan 16th applications in vermont" line on aug 2nd.

this is incredibly frustrating, but we are not alone if that helps. good luck to both of you. i'll post here if and when i hear anything. hopefully soon for all of us january filers.

  16. I am calling this number tomorrow, and I am asking for Mr. Gregg himself. There is no need to rake a receptionist over the coals...go straight to the man in charge.

Also, I called our normally disappointing number again today (the customer service one) and asked for a Tier 2 person...I think that the Tier 2 was more rude and less helpful than the first level people. She gave me the same bs about working on Jan 16 applications and no expedited requests could be done.

EVERYBODY START CALLING THE VERMONT SERVICE CENTER. Don't worry about getting them angry..don't even give them your information about which petition is yours...just complain about the time and lack of communication and get into them a little bit.

i also called the customer service number. on Aug 2nd i was told that the VSC was currently working on applications received on Jan 16th.

  17. Anyone else out there at over 190 days waiting on the VSC? Just checking to see if I have company. I've contacted my congressman and USCIS with zero results. Has anyone been approved by the VSC latlely. Thanks

i received my NOA1 from vermont on jan 24th. the last time it was "touched" was feb 9th. i've heard absolutely nothing since. i gave up counting days. now i count months...still counting. good luck. maybe yours will be faster.

  18. sounds like most of you here have gotten your NOA2 notices already. hoping i hear something soon.

1-17-12- mailed I-129F to vermont service center

    1-19-12- check cashed

    1-24-12- notified of NOA1

    1-27-12- NOA1 received in mail

    2-9-12- last time "touched"

    8-13-12---still waiting for NOA2

wondering why this is taking so long. my I-129F submission hasn't even been 'touched' for over 6 months now. the USCIS site says they try to process these applications in 5 months. i am into my 7th month now. i guess they aren't trying very hard.

anyone out there know anything about this longer wait time?

    thanks and good luck everyone!
