Alright so thanks in advance for listening...
My wife's green card was in the card document/production phase but got returned as undeliverable since our housing situation was a little weird (moved for the summer had our mail forwarded to a P.O. Box) but once we were permanently back in our apt. we called the uscis and talked to a nice guy who confirmed our new address and said he would put in a service request to have our documents sent in 15 days. It has now been about 20 days and still haven't got anything.
Here's the question...he gave us a confirm # and said to call if we haven't anything in 15 days. Should we call?
Also my wife is freaking out because her work authorization expires in two weeks and what if she physically doesn't have her green card by then?
Anyway thanks for reading and the guidance.

how long does the AP take to process? We never filed one, but my wife is wanting to potentially travel back to Romania in September....
-
still waiting too, filed Sept. 11th...hoping to hear anytime now! Glad we are not the only ones in the same boat!

Hey thanks so much for the responses everyone. Cheers and good luck.

Hello all!
Long time since I posted here, but you guys are always so helpful so my wife and I have a couple questions.
We filed our I-485 in September, got an RFE, mailed the additional documents and they receieved them November 11th. We still haven't heard anything since then regarding our Adjustment of Status.
At the same time we filed for Adjustment of Status we filed for Work Authorization. My wife had her Biometrics appointment in January and recieved her Employment Authorization Card about 2 weeks later, which was great.
How long until we hear anything about the Adjustment of Status? Seems like we should have heard by now!
Thank you!

So just to be clear, my wife can translate her own Romanian birth certificate to English if she uses this format:
"The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:
Certification by Translator
I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.
Signature_________________________________
Date Typed Name
Address"
?
What should the format of the translated birth certificate look like? It should be similar to original I imagine?

so just be clear...
My wife entered the USA on June 24th on a K1 visa, her K1 visa expires Nov. 23rd. We got married July 8th, her I94 expires Sept. 11 (90 days from entry).
Now that we are married we do not have to file the AOS by Sept. 11th or Nov. 23rd, correct?
We are aiming to have it done in the next few weeks, but was just curios. Thank you!

My fiance is here too. Picked her up in Chicago on Thursday.
We are so happy to finally be together.
Beware that the Chicago POE was no cakewalk. For us, it was the most stressful part of the whole interview. The office was rude, pessimistic and overall just very doubtful and negative. Our relationship and all our papers got scrutinized for over 35 minutes. He thought long and hard about letting her into the US. Was extremely stressful...just a heads up, don't overlook the POE interview, be prepared to answer a lot of questions.
But we are here together now and so happy to be moving onto the next chapter of our lives together.

Bummer, that's what I thought...pretty devastated here.

Hey all,
Have a question. My fiance just got issued her K1 visa. Her flight is June 14th to the United States. She has a job here waiting for her...she has worked this job as a host the past two summers on a J1 student visa, now she is coming on K1 visa and obviously wants to start work right away.
I was just reading that the Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, takes 3 months to process! Can you not work legally until you have that card...if you have marry within 3 months, how does this take 3 months to process? I am confused and a little stunned here. I thought it would take a week or two, not 3 months.
So can my fiance not work legally in the United States this summer??
Please help!

My mom is going to be our co-sponsor, we are wondering what she should fill out for question 3...her relationship to sponsor.
does mean her relationship to me or my mom's relationship to my fiance? if some then should she put future mother-in-law?
thanks for your help. might be a dumb question but we want to make sure everything is right.
Thanks!

Well the case# is used to send packet 3 via email before you receive it by mail. This will speed up the process, because sometimes packet 3 takes very long to get to you if it ever does at all. So to answer your question, it does the good after the embassy receive your case. You don't have to do it that way if you don't want to , you can wait on packet 3 in the mail, but most people want it to go as fast it can. Good luck.
Thank You!

Honestly, don't hesitate to call them. My NOA2 was 3/28. They got my file yesterday. CALL THEM!! I know the wait is killing you..lol.
This may be another stupid question, but if I call and get my case # from NVC before they send my case to the embassy, what good does it do me?

As far as I know, you both have to fill out the I-134 and your mom has to prove she is an USC.
USC = United States Citizen?
-
quick question regarding the I-134, Affidavit of Support. I am a student and only work part-time and do not make enough money so my mom has agreed to be the co-sponsor for my fiance. Do I need to fill out a I-134 as well as her? Or just her?

We have our interview date)))))
april 28th yahoooo, a light at the end of the tunnel
that has to feel great. looking forward to scheduling ours as well here soon.
