  1. If your dad is a joint sponsor, he would have to complete an I-864. If he combines his income with your mother, she would have to complete an I-864A.

From what I understand If I live with my Dad in the same household, then he can't fill out the I-864 instead he has to fill out I-864A as a household member combining his income with mine.

And if he combines his income with his wife then she would have to fill out another I-1864A. This is what I understood so far.

  2. Marriage Certificate issued through a city/local government.Joint Bank statements

    Joint Property/Assets/Retirement /401k etc. documents.

If you have children-then birth certificates with both parents name on them.

Life Insurance with spouse as a beneficiary.

    Wedding Photographs.

    Secondary Evidence:

    Wedding Ring Receipts

    etc etc.

There is a general guide outlining above and other things under "Guides."

  3. I really dont think this a linear process, I think it depends on what desk your docs happen to fall on. I think a lot of people from August and some Sept filers have got their NOA2...I dont know whether we can map this process. It seems too unpredictable right now.

I totally agree with your assessment of current trends in approval. I know a few in front of me got their NOA2 weeks ago.

    VFS?

VFS Global is a trusted partner to the U.S. diplomatic mission in India and manages the administrative function of the visa application process.

  4. Instead of having people knocking at their doorsteps for NOA2's, I think it falls on CSC's shoulder to change the processing timeline to accurately and exactly reflect what dates they are working on instead of just showing 5 month target. Most among us have already been waiting past 6.5 months which is what the expectation was to have the case approved and forwarded to NVC. SO, in my opinion, they should do something about it.

  5. Realistically...... the processing speed may also get slowed down little bit during November and December months due to Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I am pretty sure CSC employees go on vacation as well :) So number of applications processed in those two months should go up after holidays. My NOA1 date is 12/20 and I am hoping that I will get NOA2 by sometime in June month. I saw that last year who filed I-130 in February had received their NOA2 in less than 5 months. So I hope trend remains the same this year as well........ohhhh well I think I sound too optimistic compare to all folks out here who have lost their hope for CSC on being too quick :)

I am just as optimistic as you are about this process. CSC right now according to some who have called learned that CSC had been stuck on cases from July 12, 2011, but one way or another CSC have to look past that date and when that happens we are all in the line to get knocked off. I believe it's sooner than later. And yeah you're absolutely right that last year CSC picked up the pace around February and march to approve cases within 5 months time.

  6. My wife has the original with her overseas. I will have to ask for her to dhl me those and they might get lost. I will just have the copies notarized here of the relevant docs. Also, she can show the originals to the consulate at the time of the interview.

I guess the NVC has country specific requirements so I will just wait fr the actual instructions than relying on these guides.

  7. I have been reading different guides about sending original documents to NVC as part of AOS packet. It includes sending original marriage certificate, beneficiary's original birth certificate, and so on. My question is when will we get those back?

Also, If a petitioner had been divorced before, shouldn't original of that be included in the AOS packet or no. It only mentions of sending any previous divorce decree of the beneficiary.

    Thanks for the help!
