  1. Hi all, yest i had my interview at the london embassy, they took originals of all forms and copys, but when it came to handing in my police certificate the guy who was taking my docs only wanted the original. i was told would get all these back at the interview...i was given a bunch back, but didnt examine them then and there, but it seems they kept my police certificate...is that normal? do i need it again for AOS..or in the future along this process.? would it be safe to get another? thanks

  2. My advice would be just make sure u have all the required documents and copys..which it sounds as if you do.

i had all mine separately labeled in a folder so i could pull them out without to much fuss.

What times ur appointment? Mine was 9am but i arrived rnd 730am and started queing..was out the embassy with approval in hand

at 835am. So i would say the earlier the better.

Guess u know u cant take any electronic devices in such as car keyfobs, mobiles, mp3 players etc etc?

Once you have processed through the que and security check and are inside the embassy...STAY CALM.!! lol i was a nervous wreck

but as many have said its a pretty painless process...and its true.

you will be called to your 1st window where u will hand in your documents and have ur fingerprints done, then be given your pink

courier form to fill in, so make sure u take a pen. I was fortunate i was called to the second window for my interview 15minutes later..some have longer waits. but i really belive the earlier u get there sooner u be seen..i was the second imagrant visa in line, all the others were for non-imagrant visas.

So, you will be called up for ur interview and as short as time as possible hopefully.!!! you will be just be ask a number of question..to which you will know the answers too...just be prepared for them to try and catch you out a little...i had little chinese guy and from other reviews i read he done same to them.. you might say for example u met 2010 but not in person till 2011..he might try and throw u by confusing dates up. also i was hit with what would you do if i denied your visa today..i just repled get married and apply for spousal visa..!! towards end he was going through my folder and said..oh wheres ur medical form..well i saw it as he was flipping through..i said right there  he had little grin on his face..not sure if he was trying to un nerve me.

All in all was a painless time..just relax and enjoy your day..All the best.!!!

  3. Hi everyone.

I was in close contact with my fiance all morning (my over night) on his trip to the embassy and got the call just before 2 am where he told me we were approved! I am so proud of him and so happy for us! I will let him leave the review but there was one question that he had a funny answer for. The interviewer asked what he would do if this visa were denied. He said flat out we would get married and apply for spousal visa! My first thought and his too was "Oh no should that have been said." (Luke 12:11-12) It isn't one of the questions we ever considered getting but there it is. Couldn't have been a better answer!

To everyone who helped us thank you so very very much. To everyone who is still waiting...it seems like it will never arrive but it will. :) Just dig in and hang on.

  4. I have the police certificate. Can my wife use the photocopy? Also, if she does the medical report now and the embassy receives it, what are they going to do with it?

My fiance took his original (He just told me it was required to be the original) police certificate and his passport. He did get both back before leaving the medical. They will tell her when the medical will be sent to the emabassy and the embassy will just hang onto it and wait for your packet three to arrive.

We kept close watch on our case calling the DOS daily. They have changed things and it is really hard to get to a real person and I'm not sure what to push on the menu anymore to get to one but their number is 202-663-1225. They were able to tell us when the medical was received by the embassy. You must be specific though because after we sent in packet three they kept telling us the embassy recieved packet 3 when it was actually the medical that was received. (Doing it this way is a bit backwards from what they are used to.) It seemed to take forever for the embassy to log in packet three but don't worry...they will get to it.

Then when they did log it in we knew and it was forever!!! (just over a week) before we got the interview date from DOS. We also paid for our visa early and expected the interview date to come up on the page where we downloaded our receipt but it still doesn't show it at all. But we kept praying and then found that our interview was scheduled in just 10 days away and just in time to make a flight for our wedding date.

It has been stressful wondering if we would make the date or not. But we did put in our cover letter our wedding date and that we would be willing to take an appointment on short notice. And it did all work out. Of course there are no guarantees but it does seem they do try to work towards it when they can.

Your wedding is the 21st of August right? I should think your situation will be similar to ours....close but still making it in time. Best wishes.

  5. Hi Guys

I just paid my K1 visa fee over the phone and got told that processing is taking 2-4 weeks and then they will issue the visa interview letter which could be another 4 weeks after that!

I have my wedding planned for August 21st, I put this in my covering letter and also explained I have all documents ready and that I am available last minute to fill cancellations.

Are these the standard timings they are currently working on? Has anyone received their interview letter quicker than this?

    Hi,

Don't worry. We did the exact same thing with a July 15th wedding and just got our interview date (June 21st) by calling DOS and expect to get our official letter today or tomorrow. My fiance called the embassy and was told basically the same thing. They don't promise anything of course but it seems they do try to accomidate wedding plans. I should think you will make your date as well. You can look at our timeline to see how quickly it was done.

  6. Im kinda stumped on this..though its worded easy enough. it states the embassy needs copys of birth certificates for all children under the age of 21...even if not immagrating.! sorry if sound stupid...so they want my childrens birth certificates...even though they wont be leaving with me? seems strange. what does this prove?

  7. Hi, you do need your original marriage certificate and a copy from your previous marriage(s). You don't need your fiancee's divorce decree.

    Good luck with your interview.

Ok thanks. know i was told on here before didnt need my marraige certifcate, just my divorce decree. but for sake £7.50 picking up certified copy from church on monday.

  9. Knightsbridge is not completely knowledgeable about AOS. Read this post and see if your DS 3025 is filed out like 1-4 says. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/315533-i-693-or-ds-3025/page__p__4732435#entry4732435

If so then your medical and immunizations with no further booster will be acceptable for AOS as long as you file before a year passes. They go by the Knightsbridge date and record.

Doctors approved for immigration form signing ---

In the USA called Civil Surgeons

In a foreign country called Panel Physicians

Knightsbridge is not a civil surgeon.

Read that post and tell me if your form has ALL those items.

Got them all. Thanks so much for the help with that form and also defining those terms.

  10. If everything is covered (MMR, Tdap or Td, and VH written by varicella) on your DS-3025 then you're done. No need for another booster or Civil Surgeon. One shot of a series is acceptable. If you choose to go to a CS then yes a booster will be in order because 4 weeks will have passed. But if you were as up to date as possible at Knightsbridge, then they go by that date and waive the booster which was not medically appropriate to get the same day you had the first MMR. Go to a civil surgeon and you get a new medical date of record and must be up to standard as of the new date. No medical reason by then why a booster couldn't be given.

Hi. I'm sorry maybe I am using the wrong terms. I thought a civil surgeon was just an USCIS approved doctor. Also, I will not be applying for AOS for about 5 months from now and would like to get the booster before that time. Are you saying that the record of the first MMR shot will be acceptable for AOS under these circumstances and I can get the booster from any doctor at all? Since I beleive the medical is good for 1 year for the AOS process I wasn't planning on getting another medical done. It does say insufficient timing for MMR now on my record, but by the time I file for AOS it will be far past time to get it.

Besides Knights Bridge saying I need that booster everything else is done. All others are just as you say or marked not age appropriate.

Thanks you for your patience and help. :)

  11. When I went to my medical at KnightsBridge I got my MMR and was told that I would need the booster after 4 weeks. Do I need to go to an approved CS to get this booster or can I just go to my local doctors for the booster as long as I take my card to be signed by the doctor? as i can get this fro free. Will this be acceptable for AOS purposes or am I just wasting my time?
