i brought my parents , they got their stamps at the port of entry.
my mothers green card has arrived ten days ago but my father’s has not.
i checked case status trying to find out the tracking number for the card or get any information but it showed only old action on their case ( you case was sent to NVC etc)

Hello everyone,
I really need your advice. My parents got their passports with immigrant visa from US embassy. Their visas are valid till the 18 th April 2024, which means they have to enter USA before this date.
my question: what happens if they can’t do it before this date ( they have some medical issues) , what is the procedure of getting a new one.
thank you in advance! -

Good morning everyone! Can you guys share your experiences with getting SSN number. I am asking about my daughter's matter who successfully arrived 2 days ago. She was told that her permanent resident card will arrive within 120 days. But how to deal with SSN?

Yes. Carry both passports. The visa in an expired passport is still valid until the visa itself expires.
Thank you for your help!

Good day everyone ! I have a question which I would love to get your input about.
My parents are going to visit us this year. They have valid visas but the passports are expired.
They ordered new passports.
And keep the old with valid visas.
Are they allowed to come with both passports?
Who had the same situation. It would very helpful to know your opinion and experience.
Thank you!

The wife and I were supposed to fly back to the USA today. She got COVID 7 days ago and we have been checking each day using the home antigen tests. With those, she tested negative after 6 days. Unfortunately, I tested positive 2 days and again 1 day before our flight and I feel horrible too. I will start testing again after 6 days. We have both been vaccinated and received booster vaccinations. If your daughter is fully vaccinated, she can anticipate going negative in about a week. If her flight was non-refundable, contact the airline and let them know she tested positive. Most airlines will issue an e-credit. We booked a new flight for 2 weeks after our original departure date. Good luck!
Oh my God! I wish you guys soon recovery ! Yes she is vaccinated and boosted.

Hopefully, she will recover and obtain a negative test before the expiration of her visa. If she is not able to travel before her visa expires, the consulate can, at their discretion, re-issue the visa This will require a new medical. Hopefully, she can travel prior to March 7th.
I hope so. Everything like in the bad movie

Hello everyone,
A few days go asked your advice about my daughter arrival after getting family based visa.
What happened next is like a nightmare.
She got covid. Her test she got within 24 hours before the flight is positive. And she feels horrible. She has already checked in.
Her visa expires on the 7 of March.
We all are devastated and hope for her quick recovery.
What should we do if she us still positive by the time of visa expiration ?
Thank you fir your input!

If your daughter selected the option in her DS-260 form to receive her SSN, then just wait for it to arrive in the mail. If it doesn't arrive in 1 month, she should book an appointment at the local SSA office to apply for SSN in person.
Also, just wait for her plastic GC in the mail. If it doesn't arrive in 90 days, she may contact USCIS via their hotline or their website, to log a ticket for "Out of Normal Processing Time".
Remember that even without the plastic GC, she will remain a US permanent resident. Her visa + CBP entry stamp will serve as her temporary green card for 1 year, equivalent to the plastic card for any legal purpose.
Mama does everything for her. I will check this 260 form.

There's a $220 fee that you will pay for GC processing. You can pay it right now or after she's here.
Afterwards, nothing for you to do. Just wait for GC. I'd suggest checking box for her to automatically receive SSN
We did pay a few weeks ago.

So, got news....I have sent letters to all sections of Nvc and consulate in Moldova, thinking that it won't hurt anyway.
Got an answer from consulate support literally saying:
"
Thank you for your message.
This is to inform you that according to the Presidential Proclamation, Consular section is unable to process and/or issue any immigrant visa until March 31, 2021, with some exceptions indicated in the Proclamation. You can see the entire text of the Proclamation here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspending-entry-aliens-present-risk-u-s-labor-market-following-coronavirus-outbreak/."

Hi everyone! I posted some questions about my daughter 's case which is moving but slowly. We petitioned for her in 2013. Finally, we are now almost at the last stage of getting her visa fun. It is F11 visa.
The question:
In November 2020 we got email from NVC saying all documents are accepted.NVC will work with the consulate to schedule her interview and etc.
WHAT exactly we need to do now? How it works? Will we get a notice with the instructions? Will they notify us about interview date? Who has the same experience?
Thank you!

Are you referring to the Affidavit of Support?
If yes, then you, the petitioner, fill and submit I-864. If your income does not meet the requirements, and your husband is adding his income to yours to qualify, then he fills out and submits I-864a.
Exactly! Yes, my income does not meet the requirements. I have filled I-864 and he is doing I-864a. Thank you!

Good day to everyone!
i am desperately in need of a piece of advice concerning documents for NVC. FINALLY my daughter’s case moved to NVC after 7 years of waiting.
The question is about a Household member which is my husband.
From what I understood we need to sign the contract between Petitioner (which is me) and A household member (which is my husband) and it will be Form I-864A.
Should he submit I-864 , Affadavit of Support as well?
How it actually works when the husband is financially supporting the kid in terms of providing documents for NVC?
Maybe some of you have been in this situation....
any advice is highly appreciated !

I’m assuming you submitted DS-260 as well. Now you just wait till NVC asks for any other documents or says it’s complete and schedules the interview. In general you will receive an email from NVC with the interview letter once scheduled.
I wouldn’t have rushed to do the medical, depending on the NVC processing time and the interview location, it could take months to get the interview. Medical is valid for 6 months and if you daughter is not interviewed or doesn’t come to US within that time, she needs to redo the medical.
yes, it makes sense with medical stuff..........we were thinking about rescheduling it. thank you!
Father’s Green card hasn’t arrived…..
