Hello! Sharing my timeline below:
******************I-130 For Parent Consular Processing:
Texas Service Center
03/05/23 Submitted I130 online
03/05/23 Received notice that they received my form and that they mailed me a receipt letter.
04/20/23 Case is Being Actively Reviewed by USCIS
Hello, has nothing happened since a year ago?
-
How are you accessing online information and estimated processing times when you filed online and have no NBC as processing center?
I filed online a week ago (under 5year rule), and a NOA on the mail, and today got my biometrics reuse NOA. Neither of these have a online code.
I feel that when I did the Adjustment of status 10 years ago, I had emails and SMS with updates, now filing online was easier, but respnse is only on paper letters
thanks

Hello
I have been elegible since 2015 (under 3 years married). But just submitted this month using the 5 years as permanent resident rule.
so far:
2024.05.17, Submitted N-400 online on a friday. cashed immediatly, NOA1 received early the following weekAt day 8 (today), I got the Biometrics notice saying no need to go in person, they will use the previous ones and proceed
I guess, there is no service center assigned yet, it just says NBC (National Benefits Center) in that box.
let's keep waiting...
I think I didnt have to sent much as I applied as 5 year resident, but it wasnt that clear on what I had to submit, so I sent 3 years of joint tax returns, 2 different joint mortagage statements, and deed from our current house (from 10 years ago when we bought it), birth certificates of 2 kids (8 & 6). No photos.

yeah, that's what she said, a little less hassle. I guess it's a lot more than a single document
thanks everybody

Hello
I could have applied for citizenship since mid 2015, at the 3rd year married. I didn't.
I want to do it now. I have been resident for 6 years.
Should I still file as married or by myself?
A friend in the same situation said her lawyer avised to do it by herself, since it it was one document less. But is there any disadvantage in doing it that way?
Would it be slower than doing "by marriage"?
Thanks

If they are traveling on their French Passports they can use esta/vwp. If they are on Mexican passports then they need a visa.

If the I-130 takes 6-12 months. Can parents come on vacation to the US while waiting for I-130 approval?
thanks

hi
first of all, you can't file for your parents until you are a USC only US Citizens can file for parents
country doesn't matter, where are they living, if they are citizens in the country they are living in, you can put that nationality
but there is no priority date as in other categories that go by the visa bulletin
Thank you!!!
That is exactly what I needed to know and I had not found the answer!

Hello
I am a permanent resident and will be filing to bring my parents after I file for citizenship. They live in Mexico (<<<< my original post got cut off during rewriting)
My mom has dual citizenship: Mexican by birth. French by marriage (I don't know if she has a naturalization paper, maybe just french passport)
My dad is only french and a permanent resident in Mexico......

Are you a US citizen?
" To petition for your parents (mother or father) to live in the United States as green card holders, you must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old. Green card holders (permanent residents) may not petition to bring parents to live permanently in the United States.Apr 4, 2011"
thank you. I do know that. I wrote in my post I plan to bring my parents after I do my own citizenship. That is the reason I will file for citizenship. I really don't need for myself, I am just fine being permanent resident
I just want to plan ahead and figure out things

Hello
I am a permanent resident and will be filing to bring my parents after. They live in Mexico
My mom has dual citizenship: Mexican by birth. French by marriage (I don't know if she has a naturalization paper, maybe just french passport)
My dad is only french and a permanent resident in Mexico.
When I did my GC (through marriage) I filed as mexican (born in france), since my original student visa was from mexico
What should I do about their filing? If I file with different birth country, would they get different priority dates.
Any advice would be helpful
thanks

Hi there! Did NVC schedule your parents interview?
How long after they approved your submitted documents?
Can parents be rejected because of health issues?
Hello
Hey I am just starting to look the applications about my parents and timelines. But I was curious about your timeline/signature, specifically about medical "abnormality on the xray need to go back for sputum culture".
What happened?

Hi all
I know this is a little bit older thead, but it might still be useful for someone:
When I was doing my AOS package in 2012, I remember reading an interview to an officer and the said what the guideline say:
no binders, folders, .... the first thing the officer does is disassemble and throw all that away, before they start reading. If you want use butterfly clips to keep things separated, maybe with small stickers, or post-its to title each section.
Don't think or hope they will use your organization to read through the file and then disassemble to file it. they won't. it's 1st: take all hardware out, then punch two-holes on top for standard filing. then read through.
the more packaging you add, the more time it takes and that might annoy them.
The whole package revision takes between 5-10 minutes, they want to re-organize the things in a way their hands are already trained to go through the stuff.
I hope this helps

Hi Everybody
I was suppose to file a month and a half ago but I got a little bit behind! (actually I recognize some of the names from 2 years ago!!!) Anyway, still on time!! and filing now, but I have a question.
I am adding utility bills from scattered months during the last 2 years, about 3-4 per utility. Is this ok? should I add more?
I read in some older forum post, some guy only sent utilitiy bills for the last 2 years, but he got a RFE, they were asking for their whole relationship, meaning also for the months that had already been included in the first green card application, which he thought would be redundant. Any advice on this? how far back to go?
thanks!
good luck with approvals!

Either way, renewing the student visa during Christmas sounds like a very bad idea. Has she checked how many days the US embassy in France will be closed during the holiday?
thanks, That is what we thought. That it could be a bad idea. They probably close at least 4 days during the 2 weeks that she was planning the xmas vacation. but she only has 2 weeks off from work.
I don't see a better option, I think asking the company for the work visa (since they offered)
I-130 for parents general questions (before I get started)
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Hello
I have read through the guides and posts, but still have many questions.
I am figuring this out to prepare to send the I-130 for my parents as soon as I get my naturalization
1. Am I understanding correctly that parents have to be filed separate and have individual process and timelines, correct?
2. My parents (both in heir higher 70's, still together) have both mexican and french citizenship. They live in Mexico. Does that change anything in the timelines? (Mexicans vs french)
3. I see timelines going from 7 months to 70 months. I this so unpredictable? I dont know how their health will be in 5 years!
4. During the times it takes to process, especially if it takes years) can they travel here and stay for longer periods? (like 6 months, on the maximum of a visa stay)
thanks
any supplemental guidance is appreciated
