On the DS-230 form questions 19-25 it asks for the father's and mother names etc. Do they require the details of the petitioners parents or the beneficiaries parents?
Cheers
Dean
DS-230 form is all about the beneficiaries info for the embassy where they will be interview, as is the DS-157, DS-156 and DS-156k, there is a Part 11 to the DS-230 which some embassies require not sure about the UK. All forms need to be in duplicate, Hope this helps and best of luck on rest of your journey!

Thank you guys!!! Approved!!!! Will write a proper review later but had a really good experience, no problems, very nice interviewer who asked the usual things (how we met, whether i wanted to work in US, if we'd spent much time with each others families, when our wedding was planned for). I was wiping away tears when she said i was approved and she said "stop it, or i'll start too!".
Called Andrew to tell him and I'm pretty sure he will need to be told all over again when he actually wakes up, i think he was sleep-skyping!
Thank you for all your support, jan filers, you all rock
I don't think it's sunk in yet but right now i'm gonna have a big glass of irish champagne (TEA!) xxxx
You go girl!!!..........Congrats!

Wishing good luck to those who have interviews today (or this week) and to all our Jan filers in MOA2 waiting, Positive thoughts and everything crossed for all you guys!!!...it will be a great week!

Thank you Chelliot! that is really nice of you
Although the blood in my veins isn't Irish but I am as tough as those guys here are
will make it for sure! I didn't know that May filers were following our updates too but I am glad people can see a little more than just what happens on VJ approval wise
Good luck to you too! WHo knows, you might be the lucky winner and approved within 3-4 months
Hey Sabi you my friend are as Irish as if it was all Irish blood in your veins, you have the fighting spirit
lol.....we are proud to call you our own!!

Got our RFE today in the mail and I already sent the response back on the same day express shipment. I hope the turn around is fast!
Hey Melissa
So glad it was something simple and you got it back asap....next step NOA2!! We got our case No today, seemingly there is a backlog in NVC too, and they had ours but only scanned it in today, ay ay ay!!! But at least they have it now and i hope it leaves for Dublin by the weekend. I will keep you updated as we go........

I'm just off the phone with a woman at the NVC (after having been put on hold for nearly half an hour) I have learned that my petition was mailed off to Dublin on Friday, (YAY!) but I stupidly forgot to ask for a case number. (I assume I have one, since the petition has already been forwarded.)
So my question is ... what exactly do I need the NVC case number for, if anything? Do I have to call back and get it, or is it not really important?
Sorry - this is probably a stupid question ... I just don't want to wait around another half an hour waiting for someone to answer my call if I don't have to. Thanks guys!
Hi,
We just received our case number today from NVC, they told us they will send a letter to the petitioner saying it has been sent to the embassy, and i assume that will include the case num. we did get ours over the phone, Irish ones begin DBL2012XXXXXX, you would need this if you need to email the embassy, however Dublin does not allow you to call and schedule your interview they will send you Package 3 and when you send back the letter of readiness (case number required on that) they will then send you a date. I agree you should call back if you have not already and get it, better to have it than not....just in case!!|! Best of Luck, keep us posted on progress........
-
Guys,
Just wanted to update you, Tommy called NVC today and got our case number
, they will send an email/letter once Dublin receive it! They also told him they is a backlog in NVC and they are somewhat behind, they have received files but they are not scanned into the system as yet!
It seems there is issues in all departments for whatever reason. I am hoping VSC gets moving for you guys this week, you so deserve it!!

Hey guys,
Just joining in the Irish thread......I called Blackrock about the medical as i too had mine done in April pre NOA2 and they told me it is valid for 1 year, which is a relief!! I got my police clearance done in May thinking i would have an interview date by now it is on valid for 6 mths, Tommy called NVC yesterday(again!!!) about our case number to be told that it wont be 15 days til next tuesday, they do not count the date NOA2 is issued and of course we had July 4th in there also. So while we have our NOA2 we are still waiting just on a different stage. I now don't think we will have our interview before Sept.
Regarding packet 3 to my knowledge it is only sent to your fiance here in Ireland at the address you supplied, so if he is in the States when it arrives then you would have to get it mailed over as i think the notice of readiness needs to be signed by him, not sure if it would raise a red flag it you mailed it back from the US, hard to say and to get correct answers around this. However your fiance is allowed to visit while case is pending, though i think once NOA2 is issued they are a little more sticky at POE than when you travel with NOA1, go figure, huh!

APPROVED AFTER 183 DAYSSSSSSSSSSSS
Wow.............Congrats..........
-
Just saw an email come across my desk from USCIS... I immediately started to shake... could this be it?? Could this be our approval??
NOOOO
Just a notice to let us know that they received our RFE Evidence July 18, 2012 (even though I know it was signed for on July 13th) and that our case status has changed to: Request for Evidence Response Review
(sigh)
Same happened us!!...took 49 days to approved it after ERR email, just so you know, but hope you will get luckier....
-
It has been exactly 6 months today since VSC received our petition. The Senator has been contacted so lets see how much longer it will take.
Any other January filers with the same issue?
Many!!.....check out January I-129f filers forum, we are all there, some approved but some not.
-
Approved today..I couldn't believe it 6 months exactly
Congrats, delighted for you guys!
-
I can't believe it, I really can't. We just got approved!
Congrats, totally thrilled for you!!
-
OMG!! Just let me tell you all that answers in NVC are no better than VSC, different person, different answers(we just called today again to see where it is)
Really in this whole system at any stage WILL THE RIGHT HAND EVER KNOW WHAT THE LEFT HAND IS DOING!!!!

Update: We received the RFE from Vermont today. My fiance had filed his divorce paper that he received from the county clerk's office. It was stamped and sealed and everything, but apparently they want the "Final Divorce Decree" only. Fortunately he has a copy of it (all 33 pages) and we are sending it back to them by overnight express tomorrow.
The RFE also states that from the date they receive our submission, it will take a minimum of 14 days to process the form, and if we haven't heard from them within 60 days, we may contact them.
Glad it was something easy to fix, like ours! Not to put a damper on anything...... but just so you know (with the way things are going in VSC) we sent ours back within 2 days and it was signed for on the12th May but the response email said they got on the 15th May and it took them til July 2nd to approved it. Now it seems to be in the abyss somewhere, VSC say they sent it directly to Dublin not NVC but we called NVC and they said it has to come to them and can take up to 30days and that VSC can not send it to Dublin, i have no idea where it is or what is happening, so the wait continues......
-
Our visa came in the mail today, just over a week since the interview
Glad to have this part out of the way, but it does feel like ####### posting good news when everybody's not approved..
Awesome news!!! Congrats and have a wonderful life together in the US, may all your dreams be fulfilled

That would be so cool if your petition went straight here! keep us posted
Hey Sabi,
Well it seems it did!! I will most definitely keep you posted.....
NVC stage
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
I have only K1 NVC experience but maybe it may help. We got our NOA2 on July 2 and it did not get assigned a case number until July 27th. We called every other day and they told us it takes 15 days, that is business days and it does not include the day you got approved. So 15 days was really 23 days. Also there was a backlog in NVC and they had files that they had not input at that time. Once they assign a case number it usually leaves them within 24hrs for the designated embassy by DHL. That usually takes 2 to 3 days. We got our pack 3 on Aug 3rd from Dublin Embassy.
Maybe IR-1/CR-1 is different but i hope this helps a little.....good luck on your journey
