Does every Embassy/Consulate website post interview schedules? I saw a link to an interview schedule for India in the March thread but can't find it when I look on the Santiago, Chile Embassy website.
No, only certain ones post their schedule. Paraguay doesn't either, it's frustrating.
Nvc gotta be getting lots of calls right now, I don't even get the "welcome you might be waiting 5 min or more" I only get a busy signal
And I really wanted to talk to them before I go to bed...
Calling right when they open or right before they close usually gets me through right away. I don't know what time that would be for you though so that may not work

I was hoping to have NVC behind me by April BUT since i'm still waiting for an interview date guess I still belong here.
Gah me too! And next week the Asuncion Embassy is closed Thursday AND Friday for Semana Santa so I don't think I'll be hearing anything till the following week

I think the "second week of April" line is most likely to be a true statement. In my case, I highly doubt I would get an interview date until then because my case was just completed, and next week is a holiday in Colombia that almost as long as Thanksgiving is in the US. That is, it will be a holiday from Thursday to Sunday (which shortens the working week to only three days) and obviously the US Embassy hours as well. We'll see
Same here (and probably most Latin American countries). I'm not expecting anything til the week of the 8th

I just got off the phone with NVC, the CASE IS COMPLETE yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Congrats!!
Yesterday was a good day at NVC. Hopefully the next week or 2 will yield lots of interview dates!

Woo! Congrats!!

The documents don't need to be translated by a government agency. I did the translations for my husband's documents as I am fluent in Spanish and English and then signed and attached the affirmation statement. As long as the person is competent to translate between the two languages, it is okay. Good luck and congrats and starting the process soon!

IV packets for both my wife and step daughter were sent via express mail today. Hoping for case closed sometime next week and find out the interview date the week after that. My wife had a dream that the interview date would be May 3rd, so that is what we are hoping for now
I leave this forum for 3 hours and have to read through about 10 pages to get caught up. I blame those darn Canadians for so many posts
I had a dream the other night that my husband's interview was May 3rd! Hopefully your wife and I both turn out to be psychic

anyone have any big plans for their significant others once you are reunited, considering you live apart?? I'm thinking of taking the southern route and driving cross country to california!
I live with my husband but cannot wait to get back to the US. Looking forward to introducing him to the wonders of the "First World". The other day he saw a Roomba vacuum cleaner in a movie on tv and said "you all have robots in the United States?!"

I think that Embassies sent out their visa type schedule to the NVC and NVC fill out the spots given for every days of the month. I don't see why they won't fill out couple months ahead and set interviews. Other VJ members are still waiting as well, from different countries, hence my believe that NVC is backed up with files as well as it's a NVC processing lag rather than a specific Embassy tied schedule. After they decide to set an interview they send the total package to the Embassy. Meanwhile, guess who's boiling from the inside!!?? -
Thought 6 months waiting at USCIS would toughen my skin, but this is worst!
I recommend:"Drano Max Gel Clog Remover" for NVC!
Yeah I don't get it. And most Embassies have the same schedule every month of when they do interviews so I don't know why they can't plan ahead. The operator I talked to said they tried to schedule my husband's interview but Asuncion was all full already...?? So I don't know that NVC is backed up so much as certain Embassies. Either way, it's extremely frustrating!!

That's what I'm worried about. I know the Paraguay Embassy only does spouse visa interviews the first week of the month. So if we get our interview date next week and it's for the first week of May, we have very little time to prepare. I've also heard that it takes 2 weeks to get medical results back...
