  1. Will its very obvious why you hadn't heard of CFO before, you were not stopping by the Philippines forum, even though some had suggested you do so. You will not read of CFO in the K-1 GUIDES or process forums as CFO is not part of the K-1 process... its a Philippine requirement that is not specific to the K-1 BTW.

It has also been suggested that you click the link in my signature for the complete K-1 process in Manila, in there it talks of CFO and the parental advice/consent requirements that sometimes CFO ask for, both are age specific.

So as I said before... click and read.

    Hank,

I actually have done a bunch of "clicking and reading" -- as a matter of fact I clicked on the the link below your sig several days ago but as you just updated it AUGUST 2, I just wasted my time going to your page because there was absolutely nothing useful or this so-called NOA2 to VISA. It brought me to page 4, then I searched page 3, then page 2, then page 1 and found no such NOA2-Visa guideline. Only now I saw it, but then when you try to print the format is all messed up and prints alllllllll the way to the left and cuts off many words too! ranting33va.gif SO yeah, you should probably fix that.

Also, you should note that just because some people suggest something doesn't mean one will jump to doing it immediately. People are busy (maybe YOU aren't), especially me, so if I have a question about something I have all the right to post it, regardless of how many times you say people have suggested me to do so.

  2. Okay this is what I dont get... this, along with the CFO seminar are things I have not heard about until recently. (they both aren't listed on visajourney's guide)

What exactly is this "parental advise" junk and is it required by all petitioners of beneficiaries in the Philippines, or only certain age? Who will check it? How much does it cost/what to do to obtain it?

  3. Wow, they are moving fast! Last week my timeline estimate was October 1-16, now is it September 16 to October 3rd. I'm going to get my police check done this week, and send off for my long form birth certificate just to stay ahead of things. Congrats to everyone who has been approved smile.png

How do you get where it says the dates of the timeline estimate? I have a timeline also but never saw the date of when it thinks she'll get her visa, etc.

Also!! Can someone tell me where to go to put my USCIS Receipt # and and back up x # to see how far they are before the NVC gets to mine? I got NOA2 approval on July 29, and the hardcopy 4 days later on 8/2. Do they always go in sequential # regarding the USCIS receipt #'s? I called NVC today and they haven't got my packet yet, and was told that instead of 3 wks (I thought it was 2), now it's 8!! (GASP!)

I got my NOA1 around May 3 I believe so do I count as a May filer too?

  4. Inggit lang yun, kasi ikaw pupunta ng America.. siya hindi. Bitter ba ! tongue.png

Tama ka jan J&J! Daming inggitero/a sa pinas at pangit tlga yung ugali !! Alam n alam q kc ganun parin halos LAHAT ng pinsan q (1st degree pa!)... That's the pangit thing about yung mga pinoy... Talentado q (nakapunta na ako sa Wiling Willie) at ako lang yung pinsan that was born in U.S.A. so siguro ganun parin yung mga pinsan q... it's so sad pero what can i do?

macan: Tama yung cnsb ng iba.... Write a letter to REPORT that rude Dr so hopefully they can remove her! They have no reason to disrespect people and must treat everyone with respect! I'm gonna inform my fiance about this as well..........

  5. " You don't need the Embassy's eligibility letter for St. Lukes. Take your USCIS NOA approval letter, your MNL case number, and your interview appointment printout to St. Lukes and complete your medical"

Where do you get the interview appt. printout?

  6. Sure the process can be daunting and tedious but It's better to be safe than sorry. If you have a scanner I would go ahead and make yourself at least a digital copy of the documents you are sending her. This will give you something to go over with her while you prep for the interview, because remember the information you send her is going to be more questions they can ask at the interview.

As for the originals, I'm not sure if they actually take them or not but the reason you send them is because they could ask for them. If they say, "We'd like to see the original airline tickets used as evidence." and you don't have them, well now you have to send them to her and try again. Now I wouldn't send an original copy of your birth certificate and passport but the rest of it sure.

This is just my 2 cents though, as my Fiancée and I are just at the interview stage now and yes I sent her originals and included a certified copy of my birth certificate just in case.

When I said "originals" I thought I clearly indicated I'm questioning bringing the originals from the I-129 PACKET vs. JUST the originals from my recent trip to her just pre-NOA2 (so i dont have to make all those damn copies once again). Especially since it doesn't state anything on letter K to bring the ORIGINALS.............

  7. Also, I have a problem with #2 from the guide:

    2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

For those who have already been past this interview stage, did they really require your ORIGINALS? I know it says on the guide, but on letter K of the Consular Section Info, it just says that we must be prepared to prove to the consular officer

that you have a genuine relationship with your petitioner...
No where does it state that we must bring the ORIGINALS from the original I-129 package & I can easily provide enough proof aside from the originals! So some ambiguity!! I just want to do what's actually needed, as 2 pieces of info contradict each other....
  8. What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

    7.

    7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

So I'm wondering if it is necessary to make a copy (for myself?) of all documentary evidence that I will be sending her to bring to the interview? I had already made 2 complete copies of the original I-129F packet but wasn't sure if I needed to also make a copy of all this additional evidence of our ongoing relationship? I'm hoping not....... because this is already enough work as it is!

  9. Jay-Kay: I dont quite understand why you are stressing so much about CURRENT INCOME... I've read the instructions myself and many other threads about the I-134, and nowhere did anyone make such a big deal as you are making concerning the CURRENT income You are making it seem that if someone doesn't CURRENTLY make the $19K needed for 2 people (in one year for crying out loud) then they will be denied but I think you are wrong. For example, this is verbatim the 1st paragraph on the instructions for the I-134:

    Supporting Evidence

"As the sponsor, you must show you have sufficient income or financial resources to assure that the alien you are sponsoring will not become a public charge in the United States

Failure to provide evidence of sufficient income or financial resources may result in the denial of the alien's application for a visa or his or her removal from the United States"

NO WHERE DOES IT STATE that the income must be CURRENT so quit stressing so much about that!!!

    5.

You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form."

Hmm... so for people like me and Megbo and I, what 2 would we use? Does anyone know if the embassy is very strict on the 2 of the 4? Because from reading some of the interview experiences, they didn't seem too strict at all...

  11. we have been approved and i am leaving for scotland to go see my fiance tomorrow!!!! the next step is the I-134 papers that I'm kinda worried about and need help filling out.......I still live at home and make money with side gigs, such as dancing, shows, and catering. pretty much all cash in hand stuff.........ive seen posts where the petitioners parents have signed off for being the support. we have money saved and in savings but I'm pretty sure I dont have any way of showing I can be the main support without the help of my parents letting us stay here with them until we get our own place....help on filling this out plz!!! smile.png

I'm in a similar situation! Just got NOA2 on July 29th, I am a professional Trumpeter who gigs every week, and also a private lessons teacher with a decent # of students working from home and schools.... I have a substantial amount of money in the bank (far exceeding the $19K amount for a household of 2), own & have fully paid for an Infiniti G35 (~$35,000), but also still live at home.

Actually, I'm not sure what to put in the blank "i derive an annual income of..." because I honestly dont know. At the moment, I am trying to nail down trading FOREX but at the moment am having difficulty showing consistent income but because I'm quite new at it, do not have any records of profits from doing this at the moment (W2, 1099, etc).... so what should I put on that blank?

What I was going to definitely do was get a letter from Bank of America indicating my financial details, and make a copy of the title & proof that I've paid off my car.

  12. Current income is what they care about the most. What you made in the past is not what they base the requirement on. You can use the assets at 5 times to make up for a shortcoming in your income. For example, if you make $14k and need $19k, then you are short $5k. You would need the bare minimum of $25k in assets ($5k times 5). Provide proof of ownership of the assets and proof of value.

Hmm, if this is so then what do the people who are currently unemployed do then? I would think they would have to also consider the past as well, actually I read that they view up to the last 3 years. Furthermore, how can they go by CURRENT income when the latest tax reports they can even see is LAST YEARS, 2012.... It would make sense to think that there would be an equal weight upon current income as well as the past 3 years, because one could be unemployed/struggling now (my present situation) but was much more financially stable last year, or 2011 or 2010.

  13. I guess I should chime in this discussion too, since just Mon night I got a text that said there's a change in my case. So i log on and shows that I got my NOA2!!! bUT now I'm also waiting for the physical one, which you must send a copy of to the beneficiary. I've also requested my tax files as well. This weekend plan to do the I-134 and all of that other stuff....... btw it helps for BOTH petitioner and beneficiary to be familiar with the process after NOA2... just FYI!!!

  14. Thanks to all who replied! Funny I didn't get notification of this post getting all the replies it did!

Okay, in regards to the medical examination itself, are we not allowed to get it done (cheaper) elsewhere, then just the show USEM proof of this? Or do they force us to get it done in Manila?
