  1. Hey Nizzy,

My doctor has been waiting for the right time to induce labor with me for the last 2 weeks or so now due to my BP fluctuating so much. The only reason he hasn't done it yet is because I haven't started dilating or thinning yet. Otherwise, I would have had my baby by now. If you have already started thinning or dilating, the risk of a C-section is very small. You have already started the process yourself and the induction is only speeding things along. Otherwise, if you haven't already started, they are trying to ripen a cervix that's not ready yet, and there is a chance it may not work, resulting in a section. I don't blame you for not being excited at the possibility of a C-section. I wouldn't be thrilled about it either, especially when it's elective. If it was an emergency then that would be different.

If it means you can schedule it for your husband to be there, then I would jump at the chance. The benefits outweigh the risks at this stage IMO! You will be 39 weeks by then anyway, baby is ready! Good luck whatever you decide!

I go back on Monday to be checked yet again! I really hope something has started so we can go ahead and get it moving. Baby's head is engaged, but that's all so far! I have a feeling the doc may think about scheduling anyway since it's going on 3 weeks since I have had high BP and protein present in my urine. Fingers crossed!

  2. Well excuse my ignorance....I'm not American, I've never crossed a land border here and I wasn't here before 9/11. But thanks for clearing that up for me! Now I do feel stupid.

If that's the case, then shame on the border agents/government/whomever is responsible.....Seems retarded for them to run around years later crying that someone lied to them to gain illegal entry. Who'd have thought!!! It's not like illegal immigration is a new phenomenon that has only surfaced since 9/11.....I dunno, I just think they would have thought of it sooner!

  3. Lol, pretty much Rebecca, yeah! I guess It's making perfect sense in my mush-for-brains! To try another way, it seems pretty incredible for the government to say "well she told us she was a USC and we believed her!" Surely she would have needed something to back up her claim. It took them years to catch up with her. I read in another article that she made this claim while entering the country. It can't be that easy to enter as just claiming to be a citizen.

Lol, maybe I am missing something, but in my head she is walking through security and a border agent says "Ma'am are you a citizen?" She says "yeah, sure!" He replies "Well then, come on in and welcome home!"

    I dunno....I'm very pregnant and confused! :wacko::lol:

  4. Oh no, I get how serious an offence it is to falsely claim citizenship. The point I was making was that proving or disproving citizenship is a easy as showing a birth certificate, not that it wasn't a big deal that she did falsely claim it. Does a USC not have to prove citizenship when crossing borders from Canada or Mexico? She claimed citizenship at a point of entry apparently after returning from a funeral in Mexico. If it was that easy for her to tick a box and walk on through, why do the rest of them climb fences?

  5. The co-sleepers are a nice idea, but we have two dogs I wouldn't trust not to climb in for a nap, especially the smaller one, he's into everything. They sleep at the bottom of our bed, so I couldn't take a chance. We do however have the crib next to the bed, so I guess that's the next best thing.

  6. Well that's good that you had at least some of your questions answered. I think having a reason for why the premature birth may have happened should be somewhat of a relief. At least you know there shouldn't be big odds of it happening again. I think there is nothing worse than being told that sometimes these things just happen!

The second time around will be scary though, especially until you get past the point at which Noah was born. I miscarried a few years ago and until I got past 12 weeks this time I still looked at heavily pregnant women at the docs office with a kind of resentment. Kinda weird to explain, but I guess it was just fear. At least you will be monitered closely and maybe you will be more likely to go and have worries checked out rather than to just wait and see. I think I would anyway. It's so hard to know what's normal first time around. Either way, best of luck if you do decide to go ahead and good luck at the checkup!

  7. Marilyn, first of all, I'm sorry you had to get through the due day, I imagine it wasn't easy for you both. It is good to see you planning for the future. Noah will always be your first born and have a special place in your hearts.

As for the bleeding, everyone is bound to be different and I think as long as there were no large blood clots, you are probably ok, maybe another check up wouldn't hurt. If you don't completely trust your doctor maybe you could ask around for referrals. Your medical records can always be transferred. If you don't really want to change though make sure you go in armed and ready to voice any concerns you have. I forget things I meant to ask all the time, I've found that writing down the q's as they come up and bringing the list helps a lot. Just asking 'why' or 'what do you mean' can trigger more conversation too.

The odds are definitely with you next time around and as impossible as it may seem, try not to worry. Did they ever give you a reason as to how or why the premature labor might have happened? Maybe that would be a good place to start asking questions?

Keltic, hopefully the controlled diet is all that's needed to level out the blood sugars. As if we don't have enough to worry about, right?

Eveline, impatience on my part is definitely the biggest factor in making these last few weeks feel so long. Plus the worrying about how everything is going doesn't help. I guess it's just time to take a big breath and take every day as it comes!

  8. Congrats Shayrene, lucky you escaping the nausea...hope the rest of it goes easily too!

Thanks Eveline, I'm reading up a lot about induction. In one way I'm excited and in another I'm anxious about the whole thing. I think they are reluctant to do anything just yet because I have no effacement or dilation yet, so I guess it may not even work. By waiting as long as possible things may start to move along and we can avoid a C-section after a failed induction. Right now there is no apparent danger to me or the baby so waiting seems to be the best option. Hopefully by Thur we will know more.....

These last few weeks are the longest aren't they???

  9. Congrats to all the new parents to be....Seems we have a boom going on at the minute!

Keltic thanks for the article, I had come across it so we might wait for the results pending....The thoughts of dragging my fat a$$ back to the mall is killing me!! LOLOL! How's the blood sugar looking btw?

Not long now Eveline. The Braxton Hicks have started to get a little uncomfortable for me too. Kinda like period pain!

I went for my check up this morning and my BP is back down again! 133/82. Still some protein in my urine, so I have to go back to see the doc again on Thur most likely to plan the delivery! The doc I saw today (same one I had in hospital) says it will most likely be early next week depending on what my own doc says Thur. She said he won't let me go past the due date with everything like it is! Huge relief! I'm still shooting for Valentines day! (L)

  10. It seems like it has been a waste of money for a lot of people, but I would have rathered wasting the money than sitting here on my second EAD still waiting for my GC and I'm not in any Name Check!

I am waiting for the person who doesn't file for EAD, gets held up for some reason and posts crying about it. I'll be the first person on here looking for the "sucks to be you" smilie! :P:lol:

  11. It makes me crazy that they do this.....They don't care that they are messing with peoples lives because of their unwillingness to do their jobs!!!

We interviewed on Dec 14th and were told we were approved, but my fingerprints had expired since our wait was so long! First of all....they couldn't have done this while we were waiting for our interview? We got the interview letter 2 months in advance. Second of all, we had to return home and wait for a fingerprint notice and go back on Jan 14th to do those again. Since then we have heard nothing, not even a touch!! The officer said when we went down for fingerprinting to make sure and let her know so she could complete the case. Of course we did that (through a security officer since we are too lowly to be granted another audience) but why even bother. I can guarantee my file is sitting on someones desk covered in coffee rings!

As much as I would love to do the infopass I am less than 2 weeks away from giving birth and our DO is over 2 and a half hours away...I can't do the journey again! It frustrates me so much that even calling the info line is of no help whatsoever! They will read off whatever is on your case notice thingy!

Anyway, glad you got some satisfaction and congrats on the GC! These inconsistensies really get my goat!!!!!

  12. The timeline function doesn't allow for people who are adjusting from situations other than K1, K3 or DCF. We have more and more people on here adjusting from VWPs and student/visitor visas for example, they are not included in the options, so maybe thats one reason that people are not using it.....I tried and gave up when I was forced to choose K3 and Armenia as my consulate, even though I am adjusting from J1 and didn't have to go through any consulate!!!! Can we get this fixed please?

Now, excuse me while I figure out how to shrink my baby pictures! :P

  13. That's great news Kristi.....I can't even imagine carrying twins.....I'm having trouble with carrying the one I have, LOL. Hopefully they stay in there long enough for a healthy birth! It's a worry even in a single pregnancy.

I spent 2 days in the hospital during the week. My blood pressure will not stay stable and it was sky high when I went to see my Dr on Tue, so they admitted me right away saying "We need to deliver this baby!" There was such a panic, I was in a state. As it turns out, they evaluated me for 48 hours and decided to send me home on Thur. My BP was ok and the protein in my 24hr urine sample was at 275, their cutoff is 300 for delivery I guess! I was sooo frustrated I could only cry!

I wish they wouldn't do that. They went off one high reading in the office, scared the ####### out of me and my husband, he came rushing home from work, only to tell me, "yeah we're going to wait another week or so to see what happens!" I know they are being cautious, but was all the panic really necessary?

I go back on Monday for a checkup and we'll see what happens....I almost wish they would have delivered, but the doc said my cervix wasn't favorable yet so I guess that's why they were reluctant, to avoid a section! Oh well, it shouldn't be too much longer either way. I can't see them allowing me to go over 40 weeks with the BP up and down like that. Let's hope at least! ;)

Oh BTW, we bought our travel system last week, an Evenflo Journey. It's pretty and at a really good price. My husband was out last night and picked up the Consumer Report magazine and there was our car seat in all it's glory.....It DOESN"T meet Federal Standards!!!!! It failed every crash test they put it through and the pictures made me nauseous! I'm so disgusted at Evenflo, I swear I'll never buy so much as a bottle of theirs! Needless to say, we are making a trip back to Sears today for a refund! The magazine said they are URGING the officials to do a total recall on this product, so if any of you haven't bought yet, avoid Evenflo like the plague! I can't even believe they would sell a product in this day and age that doesn't meet safety standards.....It never even occured to us at the time.

Anyway that was our exciting week, hope you are all doing well and are relatively comfy! Take care girls!

  14. Keltic, Hopefully a change in diet will help out, you had gestational diabetes before didn't you? I don't envy you doing the 3 hr GTT...It sucks so bad! Good luck with the results!

Amera, maybe right after having the baby isn't the best time to make this huge decision...glad you decided to wait!

As for me, it's been a busy couple of weeks with my mom-in-law in surgery. She's ok after an aortic graft operation. Just a painful recovery ahead.

I had an appointment on Tue and my blood pressure was up again and my ankles were so swollen I could barely bend them. The doctor was going to admit me, but we decided to do bedrest instead. It's kinda nice to be out of work but I'm starting to get bored. It is nice however to see my ankles again....it's been months. We did the 24 hr urine analysis, but I'm expecting it to be ok. I think the doctor is just being cautious, so I'm not too worried. I'll be 38 weeks on Thur so it wouldn't be a big deal to have the baby now anyway. I'm really not too excited about induction so hopefully I can keep the blood pressure down for a few weeks more. I still don't feel like I'm ready yet, although if it were up to me, I don't think I would ever be ready!

I haven't seen Nizzy or Eveline post recently. I think Nizzy is still setting up home but Eveline is usually one to post often....I hope everything is ok with her!

Well gotta go shopping....again. I keep thinking of things we have forgotten to get.....organization is not my forte  !! Take care girls...update soon!

  15. Must you have an ITIN to file either way?

will a copy of the noterized paperwork work?

    wendy

If you don't have an ITIN you will have to file married jointly and pay dearly as you can not claim your spouses allowances. You can go ahead and file anyway and amend later once you get the ITIN, but like I said...it will cost you right now.

Not sure about the notarized paperwork though! Sorry.

Edited: Can't figure out quotes......retarded, LOL!

  16. As I mentioned in another thread....If you (nobody in particular..) haven't already done an AOS interview, you might want to reconsider filing single when in fact you are married. Our interviewer checked two things on our previous years returns....the amount of income and filing status. When I mentioned we had filed separately she did distinctly say "That's ok as long as you both filed married and listed each other as spouse." As Yodrak (I think) pointed out, you are trying to adjust your partner on the basis of marriage. Filing as single on Federal paperwork might not be wise........
