A Slap in the face indeed to all who thru the years have followed Immigration legally.
Not only have people payed the 1000's of Dollars to do so legally, but the paper work,
stress, waiting, and the endless missing of those they love because they follow the law.
Enough about hearing about those who miss their loved ones ,
so they have no choice but to cross the border from Mexico and want people to feel sorry for them.
While the rest of the world who cant walk across the border and have no one to feel sorry for them.
And how about those who wait lifetimes to bring their loved ones, who have waited and their babies are now grown adults, or those waiting and have their loved ones die before getting a Visa because they follow the law.
Who feels sorry for them? And Even if they get a Visa..they get no benefits, or perks, We who bring our loved ones file affidavits of support and are responsible for them, not the tax payers as is the case with illegals.
Law is Law, Rules are Rules..and the Constitution was written for a reason..maybe its just my opinion.
If it is Ok for illegals..then make it OK for all..otherwise admit their are 2 sets of rules.
Laws for those who follow the law..
and laws for those who choose to break them..and expect people to feel sorry for them.
If breaking the law is OK..then why have laws at all, and why have Immigration.
Come On Over to the U.S. when ever and however you want...and get rid of immigration.
We followed the law..I would expect others to do the same...maybe its just me.

From past posts..and the limited Spanish I speak..
As far as I know the correct term in most Latin countries is Certificados Judiciales
As to how they are obtained , I am not sure..hoping others with this knowledge will reply to your post.
Wish I could be more help..but dont want to give you information that is wrong or outdated.
Best Wishes and take care.
Does anyone know how police certificate is called in spanish? -
Try 15!! Pretty insane, lol.
Try leaving and when you get there..its 23 hours later..thats my world..
and if lay overs..anywhere from 24 to 35 hours total flight...LOL..Cambodia...the New World All Over Again.

With the world full of technology and communication, and so many devices available..
It's the thought that counts, and it does not matter which one we choose, or how..it's taking the time to let them know we care.
Whether it's one minute, one hour,or one moment....it's how we share those moments that matter.
Most of us are restricted by borders that make driving to see our loved ones a dream we could only wish were possible.
And even if we could fly..work, family and our commitment to the lives we live don't allow us, or afford us the ability to do so.
Don't hate those who's lives dont afford them the worries we have that allows them to leave as they wish, and have nothing to stay for.
We will all survive, and have survived the many months, and in some cases years...only being allowed to visit when we can, and as time and money allow.
One should not feel guilty, or be burdened by that same guilt and be looked upon as being uncaring, or lacking compassion for those we love
all because we can't simply leave our jobs, family, kids, or careers at the drop of a hat, or as we wish,
And one should never allow those feelings to enter their thoughts simply because others attempt to make them believe we should be just like them.
Live your lives from one moment to the next, and be accepting of the path we have all chosen, knowing that the path is long, and filled with tears.
But always remember..their is a light at the end of the tunnel for us all, though some may try to shine brighter then our own.
If their path is better lit, and easier traveled..it is them that will never feel the love we feel when they reach the end.
Life isnt fair as they say, and no one has the right to tell us they are better, or smarter, and no one here on V.J. should ever choose that path, or those words.
Just remember..a journey traveled in darkness, and fear, is best rewarded with the warmth, and love of a heart worthy of that journey.
So every time you talk, text, yell, scream, or send a simple letter on paper or electronically..its the thoughts we send, and the feelings we make known that make it worth doing.
Every second alive in a life that is lasts only a moment in time..is a precious one...so spend it wisely..but always with Love.
May Buddha , God or who or whatever you believe in allow us all to be together soon..
and let Visa Journey and the Caring People who want to make that journey easier thru knowledge, and Love allow it to happen.
Now that your done reading this..what ever it is you do to communicate..Go Do It..and tell them.."You Love Them."
Thank You All here at V.J.

Our Wedding was 3 days long, and one of the most beautiful ever.
By Cambodian Cutlure, 3 days is the entire ceremony, and each represents a different stage of the wedding.
Typically 3 to 5 dresses, very ornate and beautiful..but we had 13 as a gift from some very kind friends.
They wanted this to be the most memorable and beautiful wedding in her city, and it truly was.
I am married to an Angel, and my world revolves around her, and the Cambodian world.
-
I help the Cambodian and Asian Community, and work with Cambodia/Asian Stars who tour in Minnesota when they are here.
My friend who is a Promoter suggested I visit Cambodia and meet the daughter of a family he knew.
Went there, fell in love with her , and such is history, and just got back from my 3rd trip with her.
-
Thank you for that thought.
Yes, I have already been thinking about that, and its even better for me to do so.
Having gotten a raise and the projected outlook for this year, Taxes should look good and be great for the Embassy review,
I am not rich or even close..just plain, ordinary, and simple..but doing fine in the world I live.
I appreciate all your concern, ideas, and thoughts..believe me..otherwise I might forget or miss something, and I could never forgive myself if it cost my wife an interview .
Thanks for all you have said, and for your thought, and may your world be filled with happiness, and wishes come true as well.
From me and my wife..Happy New Year in our world, and a hopeful spring in yours.
Thanks again, and bless you and the people of V.J. for their kindness, and understanding.
And I wish hope for those who choose to do the right thing, the right way, ..as God intended, and as our laws intended,
Giving hope and peace to those who suffer and find happiness within with each new step, and each day that passes, one day closer to the one they love.
Good Day

Thank you to all the VJ'ers for helping us figure out what to do while waiting for NVC to finish processing our case. It is truly a hard and difficult journey indeed. To all my cambodian friends I want you success in bringing our love ones together. It is you guys who I truly appreciate the help and I am glad to help and answer questions once I have the answer myself. Good luck you guys.
Congrats to us both , and I wish you success on your Interview Date soon.
I opened my e-mail yesterday, and there it was..Sophannas Interview date after 36 days waiting to get it.
I pray your date comes sooner, and hope it is sooner then ours...not sure how it works.
Our date is May 28, 8am 2013. My Sophanna is so happy now..love to see her smile on Skype.
Take Care, and hope to see your Interview date posted soon.
-
I received an E-Mail last night after I got home from work..
Your case is complete, and received by the Embassy of the United States Of America,Phnom Penh Consulate
Your Interview date has been scheduled for 8am May 28,2013.
I thought this day would never come, and now I pray the next 2 months go by quickly.
I know they say it is a bad thing to wish your life away..but at this point, i'm good with that.
Missing my Sophanna more then I Love life itself.
God and Buddha be blessed.

Thank you so much..Not sure how to look at these threads you are speaking of,..might have to look a while and
try to figure out where they are, and how to get on them as you say.
Hope I can find some sort of Clue or answers somewhere..seeing how NVC will say nothing, and today is day 33 and still at NVC.
How many more weeks to get an email saying it has left NVC, then await several more weeks for the Medical and still not knowing when the Interview will be?
Mimolicious how long did it take to find out when the Interview was, thats my question..and thanks.
I feel so bad for everyone right now,if anything made sense it would be better, but nothing makes sense.
Even if you follow the outlines they set up, and how, and what, and why to do things....
so many people fall between the cracks and nothing in their entire process makes sense....
Even though they do everything the same as others..it seems as though they pick some cases just to make an example of them.
Our case seems to be one of them...as are a few others who posted here in this thread..it dont make sense.
Well anyway..thanks for letting me vent for a moment..and I hope I can find this thread you speak of and how to get on it.
Maybe it will give me a little resolve to watch others in similar cases..and pray sometime soon I hear of an Interview date..or anything for that matter.
They say no news is good news...but in this site..No News is just that..NO NEWS..and NO ANSWERS...and seemingly..No Hope.
Thanks again, and hope to hear from you again Darnell.
Happy Easter..God Bless, and Be Safe.

In my rightful opinion...The Dream Act was named accordingly, and correctly by the those in power who like so many have said,
"Allowed this to Happen"..even now as we give layoffs to our Border & Customs Agents and wait for it to get worse....much worse.
The Dream Act does nothing more then displace, displease, and destroy the ability for those who follow the immigration laws and processes,..
the ability to understand what the laws and constitution of the U.S. stand for.
While the DACA recipients remain with those they love, and complain that we make it so hard for them to be here,..
I only wish I could be with the one I love as the days go by...over, and over, and over ....and over...into the hundreds of days and months
beyond that which is suppose to be...all thanks to DACA.
For those of us that pay to have children, and health care, and watch it go bankrupt, and be fined if we don't provide it
with the new health care mandates..lets think of those hospitals, clinics and health care facilities now closed due to going bankrupt
as a result of providing Child bearing, health care, and billions of dollars in care to those here illegally, and all the other issues that go with it.
I guess for those of us following "The Law" and paying grandly both in money and time..and we arent with the ones we love....so sad.
Like I said in the beginning..its not their fault as others have said...breaking the law is a way of life for them because we have allowed it,..
and they love America for allowing it..while we could go to jail, and possibly be placed on a permanent ban from Immigration possibilities if we did the same.
So forgive me for not supporting the DACA amendment...and agreeing on it's name.."The Dream Act"
Because Myself.. like every person going thru immigration here on VJ "Legally" can only "Dream" of being with the one I Love..and no ones paying for her,
and providing her the same possibilities allowed those here illegally...and again..I Don't Get To Be With Her While I Wait.. I "Dream" of that day...
God Only Knows When my dream act will be enacted...I believe it is called a "Legal Immigrant Visa" and the days keep on adding up.
But again..I'm just an American who has proudly served my country, and my family actually follows the laws of this country...even if my country allows others not to.
Thanks for letting me vent..it would be a lot easier if I was with my love while we wait...but that's not legal.
Still waiting ..still hoping..
-
NVC told me Friday this week that there is nothing they can tell me accept that I should wait.
She told me the Embassy sets a priority date, and when that happens NVC Makes an Inteview Date.
So I should just wait, and await there reply via E-mail.
So basically they said nothing..and no information at all, and no idea what kind of time frame to expect.
I guess I tried to find out information and something to tell my wife...but that was a failure.
So I guess I wont be calling them anymore, I thought they were there to help clear the air and give information,
but it seems in a lot of cases, they say nothing at all, and perhaps they actually dont know...or wont tell you what they know.
I guess we will never truly know, and all we can do is hope and wait, and in many instances..makes me wish this process were given
the same respect, and intent given those Under The Dream Act ...here illegally...instead of this long and lonely process under Legal Progression.
I guess all we can do is be thankful to be loved by those we await, and hope that in the Eyes Of God..we are soon reunited knowing we are doing for the better.
Here on Palm Sunday..I Can only Hope This Is True.
Bless Us All...and Have A Safe, and Happy Weekend.
Bless God, and Buddha...
when you call NVC and inquire about this, what's the NVC TeleOperator telling you ?
-
I am the One who gave information saying NVC will not send Originals to the Embassy...and I have the E-mail Enquiries
showing that NVC will not allow Certified Copies, as I received an RFE for doing just that.
But I see others have also said the same, NVC "Requires" Originals..thx for reasserting this need.
This is the link they sent me as well about what to expect for the Interview, and this was also part of that RFE Mail I was sent from NVC
http://travel.state....L-0001-1204.pdf
Click on the Link above.. it will open a PDF file with the documents they require, and their instructions.
The Person I spoke with at NVC made specific note that these documents for the Interview were supposed to be Originals.
If this is not the case...please let me know as well, it would save my wife another trip to Phnom Penh, and a dangerous journey in doing so.
I would hate to lose her to one of the many traffic fatalities that occur with each new day there in Cambodia..
I too pray that the person I spoke to was wrong, or perhaps New to their position or unaware of the actually needs at the PHP Embassy.
Thank You,....those helping others here on V.J. are the best...bless you.
Sincerley, and Thanks Again
Randy & Sophanna

Hello! I just wanna ask anybody who's already done with their Visa Interview (Spouse visa/Immigrant)
What are the documents that needs to bring?
What are the QUESTION they asked? and how long did it take??
Your Answer will help a lot!! THANK YOU!
-
Its not the Interview I am wondering about..its wondering how long it takes to find out when the Interview is..but thx for the reply.
Most timelines post their date very soon after completion at NVC...almost always within 2 weeks they know..
We still are waiting at NVC 25 days today, and not sent to the Consulate...thats what I was wondering....
I am sorry to hear about the case waiting since August..may you find a sense of happiness, and may you soon be blessed with an Interview Date.
Take Care , and wish everyone here luck..and love.
My husband's case complete was May 9, his interview July 16, that is 9 weeks. 2 weeks is the exception, not the rule. If you look around at timelines the average is 6 weeks

This whole process has been so overwhelming. From the day we started..The Govt is so slow in processing papers.
Going to get her Official Documents her Taxi was robbed, her Papers & Luggage stolen...Police chase all the way to Vietnam, and recovered.
Then the papers delayed 3 months by the govt and this is normal..and now almost a month at NVC and still no word on when she might interview.
I see again and again, Interview dates within 2 weeks from completion at NVC...but for us 24 days already and still at NVC when I called today..I dont understand.
I see so many posts saying the entire process for all Visas is being delayed, and people made to wait to see their loved ones..all in a legal process.
Why do I see everyday..people and processes for those here Illegally made a topic of interest and priority...and given anything they want.
I guess all I can do is pray for all of us, and give us hope that soon we are given that same interest and a wish that we are all soon reunited and with the one/s we love.
Bless all of you who help, support, and give hope to those in this sad, and timely process known as Immigration.."Legally'
I Pray we hear something soon..15 months and still no Interview Date or hope..Missing My Sophanna..I Love You so.
God grant us all hope, serenity, and peace... praying we are with those we love soon.
Bless The Visa Journey People..One & All...
And to the People and Culture I love in Cambodia..Orkun Chiran.
Bong Srolang Oun..Kom Barram PropunSom Lang..

Just a bit on how we met. I do Photography & Assist with Security at Cambodian/Thai Concerts here in the U.S.
I have lived with, and around Cambodian people for many many years, going to concerts, and parties, and celebrations at the Temples.
After a divorce, .my friend knew how much I Loved the Khmer/Cambodian world, and introduced me to my wife.
He arranged for us to meet when I went to Cambodia on vacation, and her sister picked me up while she was working, and took me to their home.
When we first seen each other, it was truly an encounter of love..we were so much alike, in so many many ways...it was love at first site.
We got to know each other better, and spent every minute exploring Cambodia, and enjoying its beauty together..and decided we needed to be together forever.
I went back again, and married her,Cambodian style, not a word of English...Completely traditional,by my request...a lifetime together Cambodian Style.
I am one who believes a man loves a Cambodian Girl for everything she is, not for her body, not for her looks...but for who, what, and all that she is.
It is one of the most beautiful cultures on earth, and its a life I have chosen to live, a thousand years of beauty and history, all in the woman I love.
Our wedding has shown the world and all who know us, I am proud to be part of the Khmer World, and even prouder because she is Khmer, and My Wife.
For all who are on Face Book, our photos, memories, and time spent together are proof of my love for Cambodia...and its Culture, and Music.
I wish all of you here the best of wishes, luck, and of dreams yet to come true as we wait together to be one with those we love.
May your journeys be filled with love and happiness, and a lifetime of memories, I know Ours Will...and I love My Sophanna.
Randy and Sophanna Iem Sell.

Hello, VJ!!
February 19, 2013 we received our NOA2!!!
I don't think I would have made it through the stress without the assistance of VisaJourney. I thank you all!
Beginning this next stage with NVC, I have some questions I am hoping I could get some assistance for.
1. First off, should either of us be expecting another letter/mailed information from NVC? If so, which of us should be expecting it? And will it answer the below questions?
2. Second, when sending the AOS packet and the IV packet, should they be sent together in the same envelope?
3. Third, I have a bit of confusing concerning the documents used for the IV packet and what documents should be taken to the interview.
I am taking information from the EZGuideSpouse VjWiki page --- According to this, original (or certified copies) of the following should be mailed out with IV packet: Beneficiary's Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Police Report.
But, according to the OF-169, "Do NOT send them to this office."
So, should those documents be sent in the IV packet or not?
Thank you all so much!
I couldn't have done it without you all here at VisaJourney!!!
If you pay online..It will ask you for information about your checking account, and contact information. Once you make the payment, it will give you an account number to use with your case number.
You then log into the NVC case status when your status says "PAYED"..enter these 2 numbers, and it will give you a "Cover Sheet" and instructions, and the address to mail those papers to will be right on the cover sheet.
Print that cover sheet, and send papers as soon as possible. Our certified copies we got from Cambodia were denied by NVC. they said they were not certified copies, and needed to be the ones stamped in "RED"
As soon as we resent them with the 'RED" stamp..within 20 days we were approved...thankfully while I was still in Cambodia with my wife for a month.
We received the final notice saying case complete at NVC on the day I left to go home to the U.S.
Instead of going home sad,and saying good bye..it was a happy day, and a See You Soon instead....what a great way to end a beautiful month with my wife, accept for being attacked by monkeys and bitten several times
and having her take me to be seen at Pasteur Hospital, and rabies, and a few other shots 3 days before I left...but now its our prayers we are together soon..good luck
-
Congrats and best wishes to both of you. Ours took 286 days...I Know how you must now feel.
And to thoise still waiting..as you said...Hope..Pray..and Never forget To Love those We Are waiting For...and waiting for us.
Have A Great Week End..and Best Wishes To All.
-
We Finally were approved..Thank God..and only 286 days for the NOA2...WTH Thx INS
and now an entire process yet to go..Missing My Hanna.
-
Not really, but it sounds unfair to read the topic title right?
It is not necessary to make a new topic everytime you get approved.
There's people waiting 6,7,8 months in here or more. Have some respect.
Just saying....
I'm sure I speak for many
We are at the 260 day mark..and quite offended with USCIS...Time to do something..
President's Immigration Fact Sheet
in Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America
Posted
Apparently..Only people who are here illegally miss their families and loved ones.
Those who wait for years doing it legally and see their loved ones arrive as adults after having left them behind as babies and children should be understanding..cause they cant walk across the seas like those who can simply walk across the border. And if they wait so long doing it legally and they pass away as is the case with elder family members all too often...who is their to take care of them, console them and make them feel better, and give their family members work, assistance, and financial aide? For those long term VJ members who have read their posts..they are the forgotten. My prayers go out to them because they "Had" to follow the law..seems as though law only applies to those who cant walk acrosss an invisible line called the "Border".
Best Wishes To My Friends and those here on VJ Doing It Legally Even Now..and who have been waiting for months, years, and in some cases Decades..I only wish your loved ones could walk on water..Bless You All.
