Got my new card in the mail yesterday

I got my approval letter in the mail yesterday! So it really wasn't a glitch! WOOOOOOOT

Good news here as well, just checked the website (didn't sign up for email updates this time around) and saw this:

On May 15, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Hoping this wasnt some glitch in the system and we are actually not going in for an interview. I was her eon a J1 when I met my husband and we adjusted directly from that, so we were sure they were gonna make us come in.

Is it normal that I have not received the letter extending the validity of my GC for one year, or any other notification for the same matter? I've had my Biometrics Appointment code 3 done on 02/19/14. My I-751 was filed at the VSC. Thank you!

It took a long time for me to get my NOA1 as well. It turned out they had tried to send it to our physical address at first (where we cannot receive mail) and then resent it after it was returned to them. I had also made an infopass appointment about this, where they requested the letter to be reissued.

Finally got my NOA1 in the mail yesterday, after the phone call to the NSC and the infopass appointment, turned out they had tried to send it to our physical address where we can't receive mail (why is there are "mailing address" section on the form if they don't even pay attention to it? lol)

I went to an infopass appointment today (which was recommended by the agent from the NSC that is spoke to the oher day), to see about the mising NOA1 letter. They were running over an hour behind, and I basically waited for nothing... Since my GC hasn't expired yet, they wouldn't stamp my passport and they couldn't reissue the letter (which is what I was told they would do when I called the hotline). So the guy only put in a request for the letter to be resend... Hopefully I'll get it this time.

While I was in Denver, I also did a walk-in for my biometrics,I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Glad that's out of the way and I don't have to drive the two hours again just for that... Now we wait...

Does anyone have any input at all?

We sent our paperwork in late January, it was received at CSC on 1/31. Today I received the biometrics appointment letter, but I never received a NOA1 with the extension letter? GC doesn't expire until mid April, so no rush just yet, but I am just curious..

- has this happened to anyone else? How did it turn out?

- what should I do?

it's been some time since I've been on here, but we are back on the paperwork band wagon. Getting ready for ROC *wohoo*

Just wanted to get some input, since I've seen a couple posts about RFEs for others waiting for progress on their ROC.

Here's what we have gathered to send in as proof:

- lease for the condo we're renting with both names on it

- copies showing that we filed taxes jointly

- bank statements for our joint checking account

- credit card statements and copies of the actual cards showig both names

- statements showing each other as beneficiaries for life insurance and 401(k)

- car insurance cards and statements with both names

- copies of loan paperwork for a car loan in both names

- copies of utility bills showing the same address and both names

- travel documents from out trip to Germany last fall

- pictures

Am I forgetting anything? Any advice would be appreciated :-)

My hsband had only been at his new job for a few months (making a good deal above the poverty line), we got the letter from the employer, and it wasn't a problem at all. It just stated that he was employed full time, making x amount/year with potential for y amount in bonus pay and raises.

I had thought about trying to reschedule our interview too, but after i searched around on here I decided against it. It seems to do more harm than good, with local offices not getting informed of the reschedule on time and putting you down as a no show, which leads to a denial of the application... Look around some and see for yourself though...

When/If you change your address to a PO Box just make sure to make it very clear that you need everything send o the Po Box.

We can't receive mail at our physical address, so we already had the PO Box anyway. Apparently we didn't make it clear when we sent the paperwork in, so the first few things were sent back to USCIS as undeliverable, which caused us quite some stress and (as far as I can tell) a bit of a delay inthe whole process.

The most reliable way to do it is entering your receipt number into the USCIS.gov website. I dont believe their texting/emailing system is quite as good...

I only check two - The I-485 receipt number will show when they have receive your application and when they set your interview appt, and the I-765 receipt number will show when they receive your app and when they have ordered production of the EAD card...dont even bother checking the I-130 receipt, from what I understand that won't change until you are approved at/after the interview.

I just check each morning...now that I saw they have ordered my EAD the only thing I check is the I-485 to see if there are and RFE's coming, which I am believing in faith that I won't get.

Good info for those who are still in the process. At this point, I'm just waiting for the green card in the mailbox, shouldn't be too long anymore

I second everything that's been said so far, it's a stressful time, no matter what, the waiting drove me crazy too. It took about a month till I got the biometrics letter and the appointment was about two weeks after that. Never got a notification or online update for that (I don't think they update for sending that out...)

Our interview appointment was at 8.15am, we got there about 15 minutes early. Once we were through security, they had us go up to the second floor to wait for the interview.

We waited for a little more than 30 minutes until we were called in. It definitely got pretty busy while we were waiting.

The lady who interviewed us was very nice and we felt pretty comfortable talking to her. She asked me a few questions (birthdate, my parents names, some questions about my last entry into the country and some questions about my J1 status).

Then she went on to ask us about the wedding. We have both not been married before, so she was curious why we didn't have a big wedding with our families. We told her we are having that later this year. She kept asking more questions about that (Why didn't we wait and get married with our friends and family there? Why did we feel the need to get married when we did?).

After a while she asked us about more proof that we brought to show her that we were in a real relationship, we showed her joint bank accounts, pictures from our small wedding (we hadn't gotten those from our photographer yet at the time we filed) and she asked about a few more things we had jointly (gym membership, car registration, car&renters insurance etc). She asked us why we had our personal accounts on top of our joint account (my husband likes to buy car stuff, and I like when he uses his own money for that, she seemed satisfied with that explanation)

After that she asked me some of the "no" questions, which I kept answering no to and she looked at me and asked m if I was aware that those applied to any country not just the US, which I thought was a little strange, but oh well.

She then looked at us and to us she was approving both applications, explained that we have to remove conditions in 2 years and said I should get the green card in the mail in a month or less.

The whole interview took maybe 20 minutes.

SOOOOO excited!!!!

Approved!!! We are off to Moab for the weekend, I will post a review when we get back.
