  1. I did call DOS. They said it's at the consulate in Montreal. But considering the people at NVC have been saying that it hadn't yet left for the consulate. And then suddenly, today on lady tells me it left on Monday. I'm just looking for some verification, because someone has to have been giving me miss information somewhere.

That makes sense. There is still nothing on DHL tracking Usually, the packages are picked up at around 2 p.m. everyday..

Ahh I'm getting a little worried again.

  2. Me either, NVC says my information has gone to consulate but i can't see a package going to Montreal on or after the 2nd. I'm in second guessing mode. I just want a bit of supplementary evidence.

You can try to call DOS to see if the consulate has received your case.

My case left the NVC on the 5th july, so I'm gonna give it until next week before I call the DOS.

  3. I know there's a post on here about this already, but it's not for the K-1 Visa process.

My question is, do I need a full version of my birth certificate for my interview? Mine does not show my parent's names. Would this matter?

I think you might have a problem. On the instruction from US embassy in Stockholm, it clearly says in the checklist that the birth certificate must state the birthdate, birthplace, names of both parents and must come from the country where you were born.

p.s. sorry I didn't see this was posted in regional forum. :)

Maybe other canadians will give you another answer.

  4. Zero chance of getting a visitor visa with the previous K-1 history for a high fraud country like pakistan.

The best way is to meet in person and re-file for I-129F or meet in person, get married and file for CR-1.

Either way, you have to meet in person. Don't you want to ever meet the person you intend to marry once before you get married?

  5. I called NVC today and they said my case is on additional processing. Can someone tell me what does it mean? I asked if I have a case number already and the lady gave me the case number and asked me to call back again next week to check. Does it mean I'll have to wait few more weeks before they send it to the consulate or it should be out really soon???? Thanks.

Not necessary. They told us our case was under additional processing too but our case just left the NVC yesterday . All K-1 cases go through additional processing. Most of the cases leave the NVC within 2 days to 30 days. There are some cases that stay in AP for up to 60 days but that is rare nowadays. Just keep calling once a day and ask.

  6. NOA2 June 1st, NVC received and got case number June 29th. But now I just called them and we're in AP. :( This is just a neverending nightmare.

The first operator told us that our file is being processed at the NVC and should be sent out in 5 business days.

The second operator told us that our case is under additional processing, there is no time frame for the process, no estimate. I asked if this is the same as administrative processing, she said more or less.

The third operator told us there is no such a thing called administrative processing, all received I-129Fs go through processing at the NVC to be forwarded to the consulate. This usually doesn't take more than 5-7 business days but she acknowledged some cases can take up to 30 days.

The fourth operator told us that our file is under administrative processing, but this is standard procedure, there is nothing unusual about our case processing and should be sent out in a few days. (He said they double check the name and addresses etc)

I have been doing a lot of research about K-1 AP at the NVC stage. These are my conclusion that may make you feel better.

    1) All K-1 cases go through some form of additional processing at the NVC. This can be as simple as checking the beneficiary's address is correct or running an entire background check on the petitioner and/or petitioner.

    2) Some petitioners do receive a letter/email from the NVC stating the case number and that their case will be forwarded to the embassy in 7 days. This is a standard letter, it will always say 7 days even some cases do stay at the NVC for a lot longer time.

    3) NVC operators use the term additional processing and administrative processing interchangeably.

    4) NVC operators do not have the information about the processing of your K-1 case on their computer monitor. These are not the same people who process the cases. They can only see the date it was received at the NVC and see that it has not left the NVC. When the case has not left the NVC, they are instructed to tell the callers that it is undergoing (additional/administrative/extra) processing.

    5) Most cases leave the NVC after 2-7 days, so people have become to regard this "quick" one as "normal processing". I have seen cases on the forum where people were told that they were in AP and their cases were sent out 2-5 days later.

    6) The longest K-1 in AP at the NVC case seems to be something like 55-60 days back in 2008.

Final and the most important conclusion

    7) There is no one who can tell you what is going on at the NVC. This is just another government black hole. The only thing we know quite for certain is that our case will be sent to the consulate between 2-60 days after the receipt date. All we can do is just wait and keep calling everyday and hope we end up on the "normal processing" time frame e.g. 2-7 days.

  7. My case arrived at the NVC last friday 29th and already got a case number assigned.

I called today just to ask if the case has left the NVC yet. She said it's still being processed and it can take up to 5 business days.

But then she asked for my Danish telephone number and email address and it sounded like she put it in the computer.

Anyone knows that they will send a notification by email when they have sent the case out to the embassy?

    Thanks

  8. Here is a good link to follow the VJ timelines of people who cases just arrived at the NVC. A lot of people don't post on forum or in a thread like this.

I set the filter to only show CSC in this link, enabled advanced mode and sort the table according to NVC receive date. As you can see the last 3 K-1 cases received at the NVC have NOA2 dated 2012-06-01, 2012-05-24 and 2012-05-29 respectively.

  9. Also I called the NVC today in the morning right after they opened around 7.15 AM, they didn't have my case there then. The lady simply said it is not in the system and asked me to scan the NOA2 and send it to nvcresearch etc.

I called again in the evening about 12 hours later, and it was there and I got a case number already. The guy told me they received it the day before, so it must have been sitting in the mailroom for a day or two until they scanned it in their system.

  10. Congratulations! ^^

I didn't even need to call USCIS today! I was prepared to, but when I called the NVC I was shocked to hear "What is the beneficiary's name and date of birth?" Not only did they receive my case, but I got the case number too! =D It's a happy day for both of us!

Haha me too! After the CIS case number they ALWAYS ask you "Have you received an approval notice? if so what date?"

Today, after that he asked for my date of birth, name and then my fiancee date of birth and name. My heart was beating so fast, I knew this day was different than the other day!

    Congrats to you too!good.gif

  11. I called today (14 days) and I was told to send a scanned NOA2 so they will look and see why my case is not there yet...Well then I called CSC and was told to wait 90 days to NVC process my case!  I said " are you serious?"...Crazy stuff is happening and nobody freaking know!

Yup, when my fiancee called CSC the first time, they told her it takes around 30-45 days to send the case to the NVC and she started crying on the phone.

We always thought this was the fast and easy part but we were wrong.

I think you can expect around 3-4 weeks waiting at this rate unless they clear their backlog and speed up.

    Ours took 29 days.
