  1. I am glad this has been helpful for some and thumbs up to those that already know about these great "flyer miles" also as I pointed out in my OP I didn't know where to post this but hey at least it's moved to the right location now....hope it helps many more people on this "visa" journey :)

  2. Hi all I am not sure really where to post this but I have to share! When it is time to bring your loved one with you please please please don't forget about your flyer miles if you have them...I flew with United and a one way requires 40,000 miles and well after my 3 trips to Nigeria... my husband and I were able to get his ticket and ended up only paying 181.50 for him to come home! So please keep "flyer miles" in mind as you are on this journey they will come in handy...even if you don't have enough flyer miles (let's say you only have like 20,000) you will still come out a whole lot cheaper buying extra miles than paying for a full price ticket. Well I hope this post helps someone that is always my goal when I share information! Be blessed all!

  3. Thank you all for all of your well wishes, prayers, love and support God is so good....@ Ndu lol.....you were good sis...I was like uh how can I hold this but I did ok I guess...lol...I really wanted to spill it but hubby wouldn't let me....for those still waiting just keep your eyes on God he has the perfect day, perfect time, perfect CO waiting for you...keep the faith and don't give up! Blessings to all of you!

  4. -P-R-O-V-E-D :) :)....I though the title might get your attention! :dance::dance::dance:

I just want to give praise to God because after 9 months on this journey my husband is coming home! To be honest the journey wasn't always easy but at the same time it was easy because we had God on our side! I just want to say thank you to everyone here that offered advice, prayers and support on this journey. I have written a review for those that would like to know how it went...I told you all 2 years ago when I first joined vj that I wasn't going anywhere b/c I knew that God would not allow Lagos to triumph over us...Lagos be a small ting o! Be blessed..if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask...I want to help you along the way just as I was helped! Tata!

  5. We wanted to include all the cases whose interview hasn't happened yet (meaning even if it's been schedule, the interview date itself hasn't passed yet) so that others could come to the thread and approximately see how long the wait has been from case complete to receiving an interview date to the actual interview itself. If we removed the cases who have been assigned an interview it would leave very little info. good.gif

ah ha! makes sense now so there was only one person with case complete for December that wanted to share....wow (I really hope they get an interview soon!...ok thank you! good.gif

  6. I just have a question about the carry over "waiting on interviews"...shouldn't the ones that are completed be removed from the list? Like for January those remaining are complete now and then for February there are quite a few complete there....shouldn't those be removed??...maybe I am confused on how it works...I thought the purpose was just to show those that are still waiting only and once someone gets their interview and then after that month ends...they are removed from the list....sorry if I'm confused.

  7. My plane ticket in hand, Leaving Sunday, Interview on 4/3 and return to the USA with my wife on 4/11. Should be enough time to get Visa.kicking.gif

    Hope the interview is easy.good.gif

    innocent.gifPlease don't burst my bubbleinnocent.gif

No bubble busting here!!!! That is the confidence that you are suppose to have on this journey and I stand in agreement with you that you will be returning with your wife as you have said! kicking.gifkicking.gif....maybe God make it so!

  8. I thought Olumide's wife wasn't telling when her date is?!?! Are you going off her timeline where she wrote (30 days)? Cause I think that just meant it took her 30 days to get the interview. She was posting how many days it took her for each portion of this whole thing.

Kazulie you are absolutely correct I am not telling! :)...yeah my time line is just telling how many days it took to get the interview date :)....NDU is doing her own calculations ;) lol to try and figure it out...but it's all good....I know we want to figure out how NVC schedules but I just don't think there is a set pattern.....I feel they schedule kind of at will...newho....congrats to all that have a date! I can't wait....don't be late! I got my ticket booked and I am ready to go!

  10. wow wow wow well congratulations to all of those that have an interview date...I will be so glad when we have ours :(....oh wait! we do have ours too :)..... God is so amazing! Ndu sorry you had to go to work girl but you got the ball rolling for Nigeria :) lol....after talking to hubby I told him I would call NVC today...we both just had that "feeling"...after we hung up I got on my knees to pray and to thank God just for being God...and then I got up dialed NVC put the blue tooth in my ear starting cooking and reading my bible from my phone...(I was reading about a part of the children of Israel's journey where they were growing weary but God gave them victory as the endured hmmm)...well as I was reading I seen a email notification pop up so I clicked it and it was from NVC! I couldn't open the attachment from my phone so I ran upstairs to my computer screaming, praising God and crying because I knew what it was....I logged in and sure enough our interview date! Due to my husband's wishes I can't share the actual date but i did want to at least let you know we got it! All I know is God is faithful and for all of you still waiting just keep trusting God your time will come and his timing is best!:dance::dance: Thank you for all the help, support, love and prayers along the way! I will still be around rooting you on and will be back to let you know when we are APPROVED and share our review!

  11. I think those people at NVC are cyborgs. and I quote "You had case complete February 5th. You are now awaiting appointment. Once an appointment becomes available. The petitioner and beneficiary will be emailed".

Did I ask you to tell me what I already know?

Okay somebody else call. And after I say I am the petitioner Debbie she says Sir how can I help u. I don't think she believed I am a woman.

rofl.gif sorry wheels this was funny..... well I think the same thing when I call i am like uhhh really tell me something I DON"T know like my interview date you crazy cyborg LOL....I am always tempted to repeat the words with them LOL

  12. I have always taken that "they only schedule the first week" info with a grain of salt regardless of the source as it does not sound logical. so if a consulate issues available dates around 3rd week, NVC will wait till first week of the next month to schedule those dates? . Dates are being scheduled as they become available, it makes their worklaod easier, I would think.

Anyway, for every week now, I just decide on TWO days to call NVC for news. It could be tues/thurs or wed/fri and no amount of curiosity changes that. It has helped me focus on other things.

Meanwhile Hubby has suddenly caught the anxiety fever (he did not really worry about the process during the USCIS stage, unlike me), asking "why are these people doing this to us". I keep telling him "baby please lets be thankful for where we are right now cos we only just started in Oct".

    Thanks for the update.

Congrats to all the new additions :)

LOL....I know right my hubby is so much more anxious at NVC than me...lol...guess it finally hit him....at USCIS I was a nervous wreck and now I am just like ok one day I will call them any hear that date is ___________.....and I don't stress about it....of course the first week after case complete I was on pins and needles but not now I'm like ok God you know!.....and mmm hmmm yeah for your case that is very good you only been on this since journey since October God is good! The date will be here sooner than we think!

Yes and congrats to all the new people here....may God bless each of your journeys!

  13. I really hope that's true, because everytime I ask them whether or not a March interview date is possible they either tell me that they are done scheduling for it or that they can't predict it

Well it's "possible" but maybe not highly "likely" because March is next week....but it was nice to have someone go into so much detail :).....I am sure most of them will just say March is closed...but he is actually the 2nd person that told me it was still possible....so I really think it's one of those things that depending on the rep you get and what day is what you will hear...newho...all things are in God's hands so really he knows what is best on this journey so just keep trusting him! As for me I don't care if it's March or not...I just want to know when! Have a good week!

  14. Ok so I just got off the phone with NVC and the lady said there are no more March interviews (though I didn't even ask her that lol) she seemed to be in a bad mood...newho...so looks like I (we) will be joining the April thread...a smile is still on my face b/c we are still very close! I am not in a hurry to give God a day...I want him to give us the perfect day....I just want to know what it is so I can plan accordingly! Wishing you all much success on your journey as we keep on moving ahead!

:) Okay folks UPDATE! so I called back again (b/c I really didn't like that ladies attitude lol) and I got a very nice guy on the phone this time (sorry not sure if it was Gus lol I didn't ask his name) newho he said that March is indeed still available and he doesn't know why the other lady told me that. He said that they are doing things a little bit differently now in that they use to schedule only the 1st week of the month and that was it but now what they are doing is this, if the the embassy gets a hold of them (NVC) at any time to let them know they have available times then they will start scheduling appointments and so the scheduling once a month doesn't really apply anymore as they really want to clear out some of their work load so March interviews are still possible at this time too! Okay I just wanted to let you all know that! have a good day!

  15. Sometimes it depends on the school itself. Some use the one mentioned and others used IREF . Most serives will want the transcipt sent directly from the school. They also will be asking where you want to send the results. If you already know where you want to go you can start now but if you don't you may want to wait because reports after they do the eval usually cost more than those when you first do the eval. You should recieve a personal copy but once opened additional schools won't accept it and will ask you to get a new one. Make sure to keep the name of the person that helped you at the school.

    Thank you for the information!

  17. Has anyone, or their spouse, had their degree's from Nigeria, or any other country in Africa, evaluated or used to pursue a different educational path here in the United States? Basically, what proof did you need to submit with regards to your degree/diploma obtained in Africa? Did any colleges, universities, or schools require an evaluation of your transcripts/degree? If so, what agency was used and what was the cost?

Basically I am looking for information because my husband is interested in maybe pursuing a different degree and I'm hoping that the classes he has already taken can help him meet some of the degree requirements for the new course of study.

Well I hate to piggie back ride off of your post but this is also what I need help with so thanks for asking and if I could also ask in addition to what the OP asked...can we start the process while husband is still in Nigeria? and if we wait until he is here what does he need to bring with him?

  18. And you will have about another 19 more. I called DOS today and asked the nice lady to please please explain to me why interviews seem to go out here and there. It was really cool.

She had said for Lagos from case Complete to scheduling takes about 2 months. She said reason why NVC says 2nd week of month they schedule is because that is the standard but only she says for a few..

She says some (the embassy that are busy and have plenty of CO's seems Lagos doesn't have enough to cover all the interviews) they only schedule in that space and time like first week of month or like lagos 2nd to 3rd weeks.

So hang in there April or May we are in there.

hmmm that's funny I wonder why some people got an interview date within 8-14 days from case complete then for lagos? well I guess it just goes to show you that God really does know the best time for everyone....actually another 19 days isn't so bad...I sound more anxious on my post then what I am lol :)...I know when God says it's time it's time....wow sounds complicated and even reading it made me more confused actually lol..all I know is that I am going to call them one day (soon) and they are going to rattle off that date in my ear! Thanks for the info tho! (may would actually be great for me!) I don't care what the date is I just want to know lol!
