  1. Bank called this morning, I got the job!!! Background check went well, they said I have no credit and there is basically nothing wrong they can find on me so I am good to go. OMG, I am sooooooo happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and don't give up hope. It took me 3 weeks after I received my EAD. I walked in in all the banks, took employment applications from all of them and did a follow up after a week, in person, in the bank. I got 2 face to face interviews in one week and one offered me a job.

That's great! It also took my husband 3 weeks to get a job after receiving his SSN. Contratulations! WE ARE ALSO VERY HAPPY!

  2. That's what I did -I drove my husband to some places, others he went on the bus. By the way he also got the Job at the Hotel. Is part-time but they told him that he can get 40 hours later. For now that's good because he has the one from the Thrift store as well. I know he will do great at the Hotel and will get a Full time job soon.

    GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

  3. Hi! I am really having a hard time getting a job here in hawaii.. I got my green card november of last year.. The problem is i dont have any job experience here..all i did while waiting for my card is to baby sit.. I am a registered nurse in the philippines. Now since early this year i was applying to many jobs here in the US but no luck yet.. I tried any job openings even those entry level jobs, even fast food chains or any store but no one called me back for good news. I am really getting stressed and depressed. Can somebody help me what to do?!

    Thanks in advance!

My husband has been looking for jobs since he got his SSN -August 7th. Since then he has applied to almost every job in Craigslist -that didn't work UNTIL he started going to the JOB FAIRS. I'm happy to say that he got an offer yesterday (8/30 -22 days after receiving his SSN) in one of these job fairs, yesterday got he's drug test we're waiting for the background check. I don't know how long it will take but at least he will have his first job in America. It is a part time job at a thrift store, but is only 4 miles from home -since we don't have a 2nd car he will ride the bike.

He also got a call from a Hotel for a second interview today, again he attended to the job fair. I hope he gets this one too -working for a Major Hotel Chain is nice for advancement.

So, I agree with Ms C -go in person to apply for jobs. Go to as many job fairs as you can and tell them your situation. A lot of times these are recruiters and they want to get as many people as possible.

    Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!

  4. My husband was asked the same thing from PSK in New Delhi -instead he went to his hometown (where he got his passport) and got the PCC from there (he had to go for other docs.), he also got a policeclearance certificate from New Delhi (where he resided) that worked for us. He didn't want to renew his passport because he got it 2 years prior. We didn't have any problems.

  5. thanks for the suggestion..what documents did you submit at VFS in support of your relationship??

VFS took both the originals and the photocopy...they told me i could either submit the originals and photocopy to them or carry them to the interview.. they didnt take my medical report, draft and when i gave her form I-134 photocopy she didnt even ask for the original..for my relationship proof i only submitted a few pictures(about 20), e-mail chats, telephone records of past 9 months. do they need anything else?

That's exactly what I submitted, about 24 pictures, emails, chat and phone logs, in addition to that a copy of credit cards, bank statements and our joint tax return. Oh if you submitted the copies of everything to VFS then that's fine you can take the originals to the Interview. As long as they have everything to review before the interview. They did take my husband's medical report but not the X-rays.

  6. I don't know if Embassy accepts them on the day of interview BUT I would submit everything at VFS and take copies to the interview. That's what I did. According to some members here some had problems and received a 221g for not submitting everything to VFS others were fine submitting it at the time of interview. So it is up to you and the CO interviewing. But if I were you, I would submit everything to VFS and take copies to interview. Good Luck.

  7. My fiancee has received the visa. The sweet part about this is visa was received on the her very day of birthday. is'nt that sweet? It took exactly two months. So, here's the details:

    Interview date: May 9th, 2012

Visa received: July 12th, 2012 (AP complete)

Good luck everybody, hang in there. I wish that everybody come out of AP pretty soon.

This thing is definately behind us.

I wanna thank everybody who helped out. This is really a great forum. We could not have done this without ya all!!

I will be asking more questions in the future from great VJ friends.

Fantastic! AP is painful, luckily it wasn't that long for us. Enjoy your time with her. Wishing you the Best!

  8. We submitted ALL originals to NVC. We submitted copies of everything to VFS of what was sent to NVC, we Also took Copies of all that plus any other documents that we thought might need to the Interview. We didn't get asked for any of the docs we took to the interview. We just wanted to make sure we can give them anything they would ask for in case they have lost any of the forms we sent. I decided to do this because I read horror stories about the CO not having the 230 or needing the affidavit of support when it had been sent to NVC....is better to be prepared. Good Luck!

  9. As far as i know they usually say that visa has been approved after interview. but in my case there was nothing. And there was also some miss communication where i just left without asking even a question. bad on my part.

    Now what i'm assuming is,

    1. my wife is a Nurse and she'z going back to school but work as well at the same time and I mentioned it at the time of interview which i believe i shouldn't have. but Even in that circumstances her studies wont bring her below poverty line.

    2. I was a former exchange visitor of which i will complete my 2 years home residency in the month of august next month. CO asked me about it but she did not bother much.

When we had our interview, the CO didn't say "you're approved" he told us to go to window 30 for more questions -no questions asked they gave us the letter under AP and he kept the passport. 8 weeks later we got the Visa.

  10. Still no progress with the Administrative processing. Are we the only one that they requested a CV and old passport at the Moscow Embassy. No ones has a time frame to give us? Everyone we call is extremely unhelpful and they just say wait no time frame, no details on the processing, nothing it is like my wife is being held hostage by the US embassy. Well I am not willing to wait another 2.5 years. We are not a young couple just out of High School and it is not like I met her through some mail-order bride service. If we can't live in the US I need to start making arrangements to live in another country.

This happens a lot in India, if the beneficiary has a degree inn Biology, Chemistry, etc. after the interview they are placed in AP for past studies documentation. I noticed that they get the Visa within 1-2 months after submitting their CVs and Documentation of their studies.

  11. So the most important part of my question remains unanswered. Will my wife get denied for having genital Herpes? Lets assume she answers YES on the medical form question "Do you have any STD's" and lists genital herpes. Are they going to deny her Visa based on that answer? If anyone has any first hand experience with this or knows of any confirmed examples where someone had it, stated it on the form, and was either granted the visa anyway or denied the visa based on it, please please please reply. Thank you for you time and knowledge.

Gegel, already answered your question. Only those that are listed can be inadmissible -if she's under treatment she should be fine, but don't lie. Is better to tell the truth and receive some kind of a "waiting period" Than the Embassy finding out and be banned from the US for life.

  12. my husband had interview in Nov 2011. since tht his passport under mandatory process.

now problem is this embassy ask for new Passport Clearance which one Expire on June 28th.

his passport issue in 2008 after 1 year we got married. last time when he apply for PC they did not ask him for Married or Unmarried.

but now husband go to passport office for new PC. they ask him is for Married or Unmarried. he said for Married.

the officer told him if you want get married PC then you have to Renew your passport because old passport don't have your wife name on it & if you want get unmarried then you can use same passport.

now my question is this if we use old passport show tht on PC he is unmarried there gone be any problem?

if we renew his passport there is any problem because when we apply for it we use old passport copy's to submit to NVC also passport No# and file no# gone be change or stay same on new passport?

please help me out guys. i am so confuse.

his police clearance gone be expire in next month on 15th do we need to renew tht one right now or wait for embassy ask for it.

jazz88, but only the application asks for marital status is not on the actual PCC right? If is not on the PCC then I say just renew it as single, but then again is up to you. You can always get a new passport if the embassy has any problems with this one. The PCC office gave you the option to do it one way or the other, that's what they told my husband and he got as single, we didn't have any problems but then again we are in AP since May 9th.

Is up to you how you want to renew it, some people in India forum said they renew the passport in a couple of days so it will not take that long -you can ask in the India forum.

    Good Luck!

  13. on monday i recived message from VFS office we send your passport. today we collect it they asking for new Passport clearance.

don't know how long gone take.

Oh gosh! So, they didn't give you the Visa? Well it seems that AP is over when you submit the PCC, you can get the PCC in a day, submitted and then in 1-2 weeks or even earlier they'll give you the Visa. God Willing. GOOD LUCK! Keeps us posted. We're all in the same situation.

  14. Hi

Did you notice how it changed from just "AP" to "mandatory AP" in congressman's e-mail?

Yes, I did. I like this response better than the one I got. I think these emails are sent to everyone who asks about AP, it depends on what day they receive our emails.

I had a dream last night, you were telling me that I was getting my visa in a few days because your fiancee got hers and we were interviewed on the same day. I HOPE this dream comes true :-)

  15. we ahd interview 12\06\2011 and put me ap now is 6 months past no respond and my medical report be expired
