  1. Check out this persons story. I think it gives some interesting information. I think its amazing that their file was lost, attached to another file that had been put in storage. My God is that what has been happening, why some people are waiting 8 or 9 months. They give some interesting advice on how to get things moving.

  2. The same thing happend to us. When they could not find ours we emailed here: nvcresearch@state.gov. put the beneficiaries USCIS number and DOB in the subject and asked them to locate it. We also called the NVC and asked that it be located. I wrote:

My name is , DOB , petitioner for , DOB . Attached please find the Notice of Action from USCIS indicating the approval of this case. I contacted your office today 2/22/2013, regarding the status of this case with your agency. I was told by the operator that to date it had not reached your system. The operator further stated that the usual integration of applications into your system is 2 weeks. Please research the status/location of this file an update me as soon as possible as to when I can expect to receive a case/invoice number.

    Thanks for your immediate attention.

  3. I know this question has been asked and tossed about, but, should the petitioner go to the interview for the kids. I am the USC, my husband was just going to go home and do the interview with the kids and hopefully come back with them. He has been here a year and soon to begin the adjusting process. Anyone who has gone through the process, will is it necessary to show a relationship between myself (the step mother) and the kids?

  4. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had been recently been given an interview date. We are at the NVC stage. We have paid all the fees, and are awaiting an interview date. I the USC will be having surgery soon and I want to be able to go to the interview. I was wonder where the Ghana Embassy is scheduling at this point. I see some people have upcoming interviews in May. Is that where they are, or should we expect June or even July? Thanks for your help.

  5. I paid for everything in the US. My husband never got any documents mailed to him. Once paid and the AOS and IV documents were submitted the person esatblished as the designee will receive an email. and a letter in the mail. One you get that interview letter it will give instructions. I submitted part 1 and2 from here and submitted all documents. The interview letter reference what was submitted to the NVC. This included what was original, what fees were paid and what should be brought to the interview. Everything was paid in the US via check online. I submitted all documents to the NVC that supported the AOS and IV. When I got to the interview all originals were returned and I was ready with the current years tax transcript. Bottom line as others have said everything is paid in the US.

  6. Thanks so much. I guess I'll just email the template. So ur saying I can send it now without the NVC number. They have had my case since either 5/25 or 5/29. Initially I was told the 29th, but when I called yesterday, the person said the 25th. I haven't received the case number yet.

I did and it worked. I just used the template, where it said NVC number I left blank and where it said USCIS number I filled in the MSC number I got from USCIS. You said 5/25 and 5/29 did you mean 3/25 and 3/29. Possibly if you call them and ask for the numbers, they may have assigned the numbers and just have not sent the letter yet. They kept telling me we should have it processed in a week, finally at week 4 I said can I have the invoice and NVC case number he was like "oh sure" and I thought I should have asked that in the beginning. Its a try.

What I did after I got the invoice and NVC case number was everyday I would check with those numbers and see when it would let me pay the AOS. I paid the AOS on 3/28. On 3/29 I was able to pay the IV fee and I did. I printed the cover sheets for both and mailed the docuements and cover to them on those days. I got a letter yesterday which said "We received the Affidavit of Support Processing Fee payment(s) for this case. You must now download and complete the Affidavit of Support form(s)." They already have these forms in their office. Like I said for me, it is too frustrating to wait on the delayed emails form these people. Our IV fee is still in process although they have processed the check. That's how I did with husband to speed my docuements for my husband. I am trying my luck again with the kids.

  7. I've quoted the posts, so u can see my concern. So, everyone else with children under 14 have just been sending the email template without the ds3032 form attached to the email?

I used the templates here for my step daughters who are 5 and 11 and sent it to NVC via email. One of the children I am applying for is on delay, for some reason. Her ds-3032 I even sent without the NVC number I just used the USCIS number and it was accepted. Additionally, I am not sure how long NVC has had your package, but I called the NVC and they gave me the invoice and other number. I could not pay for a few days with those numbers but I at least could begin the paper work referencing those numbers. Its funny, a week ago I paid the AOS, yesterday I got a letter that said I could pay the AOS fee. By the time I got that letter I had paid AOS and the IV fee and the documents have been delivered to NVC. NVC are behind on getting out notifications, I am not waiting for their letters that come a week or two after. I am checking their website for updates and using visa journey to anticipate the next step and submitting my docuemnts. Not sure if or how much that will help speed up the process, but I cant stand waiting on their responses.

  8. I am sorry it is taking so long. I know when I filed I-130 for my husband the wating was the hardest part. My advice is just keep reading and be ready by gaithering all the documents for the next set of submissions. Order tax transcripts, get notorized letters of people who are aware of the relationship, gaither photos and phone bills these things take time and are helpful during the interview. I used this time to read everything I could on this site and put together a presentation that could not be denied in Ghana. We are in the process of getting my step daughters to the US. We applied in November and are at the NVC stage waiting for AOS approval. I assume our documents went faster because we initially submitted I-129's for the kids while applying for my husband. This process is horrible but you guys will make it, God Bless and good luck.

  9. Going to an interview in Ghana is an excellent idea. Make sure you take your passport and when your case is called just go up. During the interview they asked me several questions regarding our relationship. They asked me to sit down while they questioned him and requestioned me regarding his answers. I agree with baron55 the money transfers are going to be a problem. We were even asked did we exchange money. The lady asked the questions like she was an old friend but question was loaded. Example: She asked my husband, "so how big is your wife's house" and before my husband thought he started answering. Then my husband caught himself, he said no "dont put words in my mouth I never said house I said apartment." Other regions may be different but I can say Ghana the petitioner should go to the interview and be prepared to defend the relationship.

  10. For us they wanted most recent transcripts. I looked at a copy of my husbands police report . It says "....does not appear in the criminal records of the Ghana PoliceService." It is not a real answer but I thought it might help. It has an email address also cid@ghanapolice.org

Follow-up resonse. My husband says there is one police headquarters in Osu that takes care of all Ghana police reports. Good luck.

  11. For those going thru the US consulate in Ghana, do the embassy accepts only the current tax year transcripts or is it 3 years tax transcripts.

Second question if u lived in multiples cities in Ghana, do NVC accepts only one police report from the police Headquarters in Accra or u need multiple police report from each city eventhough is the same country Ghana. Please reply especially those going thru US consulate in Ghana. Thanks

  12. hmmm, thats hard.. the nvc numbers will not be the same.. our boys hit nvc at the same time.. i put in one nvc number to pay and when i put in the other number to pay, it said "status paid".. maybe because the I130 asked were you filing for others, it has already been linked when it gets to NVC????

you COULD wait for the other NVC number and do them both at the same time just to be safe? it won't slow things down too much if your getting it possibly next week? OR you could go ahead and pay and send the first one now, and when the other hits NVC, print the cover letter and send at that time.. I DO KNOW they will need BOTH packets with their separate cover letters. something tells me it will STILL link the kids and only require that one $88 AOS fee even though they were done at different times.. sorry.. maybe somebody will be on soon with experience and can answer with confidence on that one..

and yes the iv bill is $230, thats where we are now.. waiting to pay that... i did read about a new green card fee somewhere on here but we werent asked for it yet.. i think that comes after or during the interview??

You made a good point, yes I did reference each child on the others I-130. I also read the Green Card fee was affective 1st February. It seems that the second child is going through NVC faster than the first one. So I may have that invoice by the end of the week. I will wait and see what happends when I go to pay for her. I just do not want to get two different interview dates. Thanks so much.

  13. only one aos fee and it will link both children, i kept trying to pay them separately but it said i had already paid..the system is smart LOL but there will be two separate iv bill fees.. on your paperwork it will ask you are you applying for anyone else as well..

Thanks dancehllquana for responding. Ok since the kids did not reach the NVC at the same time, can I just send the package with the one cover letter since the AOS fee I paid coveres both? The second childs should get here NVC number by next week. Or will they have the same NVC number? How will that work since the will have different USCIS numbers? By the way what is the cost of the IV bill fee? I have seen $230 and something about a green card fee? I will be so glad with this is over.

  14. I had one child approved on 1/18/13. I recevied the NOA2 a few days later. A month later we had not received anything from the NVC. The second child was not appoved until 2/20/13. I called the NVC on 2/22/13 and was told they did not have any record of the 1st child's case and I needed to email research. I called NVC today they now have both cases. NVC mailed a letter for case one on 2/26/13. Today I received the NOA2 for the second case today and was told by NVC they had received that package and would mail out the letter in 10-14 days.

  15. When last I posted I was waiting on USCIS to approve the second of my step daughters. Situation: One was approved however the younger of the two was not. Good news: On the 19th of February we received an email that the second daughter had been approved, three weeks after the first, but whatever we are happy. I then began to get concerned because we had not heard from NVC regarding the first daughter. I called NVC and the woman told me they did not have anything from USCIS regarding her. UUUUGG! She said I should request research on her case with the NVC, because there is no indication that they had ever received her package. What is going on, anyone else having similar problems? So what does that mean, I sent "the research email" with an attached copy of the approval. Does this mean her case has to be found or can I just send NVC copies of what I sent USCIS?

  16. hi evoria we actually preparing for our interview in ghana .so can we do without the w2s? and send the transcrips instead please? for now that is?

    thank u so much

Have you already submitted the AOS? We had submitted the AOS I-864 to the NVC in the US, with the W-2's and tax forms and were approved then when we got to Ghana the lady told us she needed the transcripts. Thanks to what I had read here I was prepared with the transcripts. I was so happy I was prepared because she was ready to tell us to come back, she said "oh your lawyer should have told you we need transcripts". I said hold on I got them, she said ok, approved. I was like thank God for Visa Journey. Thats my story, I say take everything but definately transcripts.
