roars and swapdude...their cases were closed on nov 15th and oct...but still no interview dates for january..? then i guess am still very faaaar away...atleast if they had covered till half of nov...God knows whats their pattern...

after 17th jan...there are only 2 appointments for jan 30th...i called NVC and they said that they havent finished scheduling appointments for jan as of now...

if thats the case..that is if they wont be sending us an interview packet..what abt the interview..because we would definitely need the interview letter for VFS and medical...where do we getthat from? and also are w gonna get that thru email r postal mail from NVC? thank u....

yes, had to call operator, he said that case was completed on Dec 7th, plus I asked him my new case number since the case has been transferred to Mumbai Embassy.

Using my new case number, if I call to IVR, then it says that case has been completed on Dec 7th.

So you may call them whenever you think necessary. All I noticed, they are completing the cases quickly.

i also feel it varies from case to case...my packet was delivered to NVC on nov 28. 2011 and my case was complete on dec 1, 2011...also our AOS packet was also approved within 3 days after it got delivered...i say u call NVC asap and talk to a human...am sure they will give u some info abt it....but mind you...the delivery confirmation by the courier service is the only confirmation u will get that ur packet has been received...the operator wont even tell u if they have started reviewing it..I used to call everyday just to see if they had started reviewing my packet..But evertime the lady used to say that only once the review was complete that they would know abt it...as its a different section that deals with this...Anyways once i called back on Dec 1..they said my case was complete...so call NVC fast...

wen i asked NVC..they said medical also from Mumbai....

also mumbai interviewees need to get their medical done from the mumbai consulate panel of physicians...they hv it in ahmedabad, surat and mumbai...hyderabad and chennai are related as it all comes in the same zone and panel...but mumbai is different..

Same thing happened to me today. I called DOS today just to see if we were appointed an interview date since someone told me they might know sooner or something. I gave him my case number and he coudn't find my case. So he located it with my SS number and said I have a new case number. So I freaked out and called NVC and they are like yeah, we transferred your case to Bombay. They didn't even tell me anything until I specifically asked. He said they are not processing such cases at Chennai anymore. Only thing is my husband just found out that our case number has been changed from OCT 26 to DEC 1. I really hope this does not mean, even more delays. So sad.

mia j...ur case was completed on october 26 and u still didnt get an interview?! and i thought chennai consulate was fast...that means i will have to wait a looong time fr an interview...even i got a new case num on dec5,2011..first one was assigned on nov 7, 2011

i sooo hope too...i dont mind going there or anywhere fr that matter for the interview..but the fear of delay is killing me..!! plus gotta change all ma plans too...

its really disappointing..knowing how difficult getting an interview date in mumbai can be..anyways since its al big and posh now, maybe we can expect miracles.!

hello there...guys i called NVC yesterday to see if i was scheduled an interview as my case closed on dec1,2011...the lady told me that i was in queue for an interview in mumbai consulate....whereas originally i was waiting for an interview frm chennai...she said they are combining both the consulates starting jan 1, 2012...they gave me a BMB case number too...whts happening? any ideas??

also when we fill in the ds230 form to bring to the interview ..do we need to put the present date..(the interiew date) or the date when we sent it first to NVC( as i have made copies)...? thank you...

also one more question...while going to VFS..do i need to get the medical done and bring and submit the report also..or is it ok if i do the medical later and take it along with me to the interview...whtas the correct step??thank you in advance...

Congrats! Our visa is a K1 and we're going through Mumbai consulate, so some differences here but we never received Packet 3 and ended up downloading the forms ourselves and had to courier it there as they never responded to the electronic version that we submitted. Our case was completed by NVC on October 28, 2011 and we are still waiting for Packet 4 with our medical and interview date. Every day I call DOS in D.C. and they tell us our physical documents reached /or got checked in at the consulate on Nov 28th (an entire month!) but still do not have an interview date set. Wish we knew what the hold up was! And yes, you should book the medical appointment immediate upon receiving your interview date so that you have time to have it done and get the results in time to take to the interview with you. For Mumbai, we have to submit our documents 4 days prior to the interview at the local VFS office. For Chennai, not sure how far in advance, but I know if submitting in Kolkata, they have to be there 7 days before the interview. hi there...thank you fr the reply...i hav a doubt though...what is this packet 3?? because i know packet 4 is the one where we get our interview date..and wen i called NVC they said it would be emailed to us...packet 4 also contains the medical exam details and addersses, ds230 form, vfs addresses, domicile...thts whts packet 4...but what is packet 3? as of now i knw my docs are still with NVC....

Hi there guys...just had few doubts...my case was complete on dec 1st,2011..when can i expect the packet 4? when i called NVC they told they would be mailing me the packet 4 as we have all our correspondence through emails...also they said that december dates were full and chances are for an interview in january...

Also can somebody please tel me what are the next steps after i receive the interview letter...Am i immediately supposed to call and book a date for the medical? And then there is the VFS also...? little confused..My consulate is Chennai consulate...
