  1. Thanks for the reply but I guess I am looking for actual time frames of delivery by VJers that have gone ahead of us recently.

If you get it in Bogota it can be had in as little as 3 days. lf you get it in the city of residence of your Fiancee like I did then it took a week. Check the tracking number to monitor it because they told my Fiancee in Barranquilla that the Visa was not there and the number showed it arrived then she went and got it . She could have had it two days prior. Dont know what the deal was but my Fiancee said alot of people were upset with them for dragging their feet.

  2. Well after a 6 month journey things have almost come to a close!!!!!!!! If the Good Lord is Willing 2morrow I will pick my Fiancee up at the airport in the evening and we will live happily ever after. It has been a struggle but the reward is sweet and I am going to be a happy individual. To all of you who are waiting be prepared to committ 6 months to it and if all goes well you should be at the finish line. Many thanks to all the good advise and pass on what you have learned.

  3. Hey all!

We just received our case number today! Yay! But it has not left NVC, we are ready to make an interview appointment, but he needs to fill out the DS-156 form first then we can make an appt. so here is my question, do we need to wait for the embassy to receive our case to fill out those papers?...or can he just fill it now and make his appt.? Any one from Colombia know how exactly it works? thanks for any help! :)

You can go full speed ahead and fill out the forms plus schedule the interview which is what I did. Depends on how fast you want to go. By the time the interview rolls around the case will be there. I think it is also transmitted electronically. I you are attending the interview then also take a copy of you case with you so if push comes to shove you can give it to them if it has not shown up. Once you pay the fee online you will be allowed to schedule an interview. So its 1) Pay Fee 2) Schedule Interview and 3)Complete forms DS156, DS 156K. There is a packet that you download from the site also that tells all of the items need at the time of the interview. Make sure you download it and read to assure you have everything. Also schedule and appointment for a physical at the office of one of the Doctors listed in the packet. This needs to be done prior to the interview as well as go to the clinic listed for tests. Your Fiance must go to the clinic prior to going to the Doctor. So its 1) Clinic 2) Doctor and 3)Interview. Also get the vaccinations at the Doctors office to avoid any problems of having to get them twice. Its a money thing for the Doctor. My Fiancee only had to get two.

  4. My girl just got approved at her interview on the 25th of January. For the interview you will need 2 copies of the DS156 and one of the DS156 K along with 6 passort photos of the applicant. Also needed at the interview will be passport, birth certificate, medical exam results, and DAS certificado judicial. Dont know if I left something out or not but look at the list on the embassy website.

  5. The confirmation printed out should be good. I scheduled the interview for my fiancee and she has not received a letter. The confirmation is all we have for the interview. I think the consulate is going electronic to where all things can be done online and in that case no letter will be sent. My fiancee also got an email confirming her interview. If you got an email I would print it out also.

  6. I think the process takes longer now than it used to take. The lawyer advised me of this. I think he did a good job for me and have no problems with his service. He also charge a flat fee with no surprises in the rate. You make the call. Also the lawyer who has done Visa cases before can avoid RFEs which can happen if you dont know what to do when filling it out yourself.

  7. I am in this boat as well. I however, have gone to the CSC Bogota Consular website and already set up the interview for my fiancee. I used an attorney and he advised me he was contacted ref the case and that a new case number is coming. There are forms DS156,DS156K, and DS230 that can be filled out on the site as well. You can also download the 3/4 packets that instruct you what to do. You need to pay the visa fee online which is $350 before you can schedule and intrerview. I will be going down south next month so I wanted to kill two birds with one stone. I only advise this if it has been 2 weeks since you received your NOA notice. I think the packet will be there by time the inteview rolls around which is the last week January so I grabbed the bull by the horns!!!!

  8. Got NO2A last week and I'm trying to hurry the process along. Been checking with NVC on the customer service line to see if they received my K1 visa and was told that it was sent straight to the US Consulate in Bogota and also said I would not get a number from NVC. Did not see this in the VJ Guides so I amd looking for some insight. Can someone help me out here.
