Got the appointment letter in the mail on March 23rd. They received the petition at the Embassy in Sanaa on March 11th, my fiancé's appointment is scheduled for May 5th. Very excited!
I wish everyone here good luck with your appointments! It seems that the Embassy is moving a little faster now, I know they did have some backlog, so maybe they managed to clear it up quickly. Will let everyone know how the appointment process goes when my fiancé goes to the Embassy. Now praying that the appointment goes well.

NIV (K-1) and IV visas (CR-1 & IR-1) have different time frames and their interview scheduling procedures may be different. Looks like the Embassy has your files now and will contact your fiance when they are ready for him to come in to interview. By the by, the congressman can only inquire about the status of your case. He or she can't push anything forward on your behalf. As for expedites, I don't think this will work for Yemenis. They will say they cannot expedite background checks due to national security interests. I know what you are going through, believe me. It sucks but we'll all get through it, God willing. I saw a movie recently with a great line in it, and I've made it my life's motto: "Everything will be all right in the end. And if it's not all right then it's not yet the end."

    Case Complete...... Estimated Interview Date
    May....................... April
    June...................... April
    July...................... April
    August.................... May
    September................. June
    October................... July
    November.................. August
    December.................. September
    January................... October
    February.................. November
    March..................... December
I could be wrong, but I'm compiled a list of how I think the interview dates will be scheduled and their order.
Now how they managed to schedule interview dates for case completes in May, June and July all in the month of April is beyond me. It could be because maybe there wasn't that many case complete in those 3 months. Whatever the reason, that's good news for us waiting because the wait time could be even shorter than what I've written up there (Insha'Allah.)

I'd first like to thank you all for your assistance and helpful insight.
Livetolove- I am sorry to hear that after waiting so long that your Yemeni friend was rejected at the US embassy in Yemen. It is unfortunate, but this is common at the US Embassy in Yemen as my brothers also had problems years ago when they applied for their wives and encountered insensitive employees, inconsistent processing, and required numerous hard to get visits.
Based on your friends dilemma, I will not hesitate in completing the DS-260 sooner rather than later.
To me, it seems that based on your response as well as the response from H&A&N, the typical wait time is currently approximated at around a year after NVC has completed the case. Unless current conditions change, for us, this would mean approximately another 4 to 5 months which is unfortunate.
My heart to goes out to all those like me during this long and difficult time of wait.

look out for me! hoping to get this all done this month!.. i can't wait to see when the people who have had their cases completed earlier this year get their interviews so i can predict when our interview will be. and when that happens i hope you tell us about your experience so we know what to expect and what to watch out for.
i think it's easier if we feed off of each other and look to fellow yemen members because we can't really compare our visa journey to every other country because it's not the same. so we should look to help each other to help one another know what to expect and what to do.
i appreciate all my fellow yemeni members because it's nice to know i'm not the only one. not the only one who has already waited more than a year to get an nvc case number and will most likely (unfortunately) wait another year to get an interview. so good luck to all!
